We specialize in quick turnaround prototypes: If you are in SF, we can usually expedite orders to deliver in 24 hours. In some cases, we can deliver the parts the same day we received the files. Our technology prints with a mind blowing layer thickness of only 16 microns (.0006″ or .016mm): that’s about ¹⁄₅^th the thickness of a human hair.

History

Established in 2008.

Moddler was started by Emmy award winner John Vegher. After nearly 14 years in the film visual effects industry, he noticed that 3d printing was making huge leaps and becoming a viable way of quickly creating beautiful objects. So he started the first 3d printing service bureau in San Francisco. Originally, Moddler served the film and video game industries. Now, it creates 3d prints for industrial designers, engineers, medical device companies, fine artists and everything in between.

Business Owner

John Vegher is an Emmy award winning veteran of digital design. After studying architecture at UC Berkeley and Columbia University, he went on to found the distinguished visual effects companies Pixel Liberation Front and Giant Killer Robots, working in virtually all aspects of digital effects creation for major motion pictures.

He has recently made it back to the physical world with his latest company Moddler, a leading 3d printing company based in San Francisco.
