Having called SF his home since 1985 Michael knows the neighborhoods, micro-​climates, and even the best places to eat! He has been selling real estate full time for over 12 years, and through multiple shifts in markets. He has a strong understanding of his fiduciary responsibility to his clients and always puts their best interests first!

As an SF based residential real estate broker, I specialize in the successful marketing and selling of luxury San Francisco homes, condos and multiple-​unit buildings. In addition to representing property Sellers I also work with Buyers looking for residental property for owner occupancy and Investor Buyers looking for pure income property. As a multi unit property owner I am up to date on SF’s rent control ordinance and understand the differences of selling tenant occupied property vs a vacant home or condo.

I have been licensed as a full time Realtor since 2000, first getting my Agent’s licence, then in 2008 passing the State exams to become a Broker Associate. I have been representing Sellers, Buyers and Trusts in the successful sale of various sorts of property in almost every neighborhood in SF, and various other Bay Area Cities.

Residing in SF since 1985 and selling Real Estate full time in Noe Valley, Eureka Valley, Cow Hollow, Pac Heights and surrounding districts since 2000, I know the neighborhoods, shopping, MUNI lines, and the best places to eat, have coffee, and even find the sunshine! I have lived all over SF in my years here… from Nob Hill, Lake Street, Diamond Heights, Cow Hollow and Eureka/​Noe Valley. The neighborhoods have very few secrets from me. And the last few years have been a challenge keeping up with all of the new developments in Yerba Buena, So Beach, Mission Bay and Dogpatch… so many places to go and see… but I am out there. Feel free to ask me for my written references, they go back much longer then my time on YELP and will give you a great idea of who I am as a person, and what a fierce advocate I am for my clients. We recently relocated to the Bay Area and Michael was recommended to us by friends. We were very pleased with our experience. Being new to the area and our first home purchase, Michael was a fantastic guide! He knows the local markets inside and out. Throughout our few months working together, Michael was always available. Even when he was on vacation in Mexico, I always heard back from him within 15 minutes at the most. I am in a client facing profession myself and I really value this level of client focus and responsiveness. We also appreciated Michael’s candor. He often brought items to our attention in the process that we might have missed (being first time homebuyers). We are first time home buyers, so we needed a lot of guidance. Michael has been an excellent buyer realtor for us. He is very patient, and took the time to explain all the details to us. He is very responsive to all our queries be it emails or text.
Michael also has many years of experience working in the SF market. So he knows how to price the offer properly. This is very crucial as a buyer in the hyper-​competitive seller’s market in SF. We listened to his pricing advise in our very first home offer in SF, and our first offer was accepted 24 hours later! This is almost unheard of in the current SF market!
Michael is very easy to work with, and you can trust him that he has your back. For example, he identified a seller’s charge on our Buyer’s statement that was erroneously placed by the escrow company, and that was promptly corrected.
I highly recommend Michael, and would work with him again!

I worked with Michael to sell my Noe Valley condo last February. I am so glad I did. The process was far more challenging then I had anticipated (not because of Michael!). Michael really understood our challenges and went out of his way to mitigate them. He took on additional roles and counseled us through some really tough terrain. His knowledge and expertise made a huge difference. He was also able to find contractors, workers, and a stager within our very limited budget making an enormous difference in the end. He was always patient with us, as we were not the most on top of the things we needed to get done (I had just had a baby about three weeks prior and was pretty exhausted!) What really stood out to me throughout the entire process is how much he cared. He added humor and calm in the midst of challenge, leaving us laughing about things that could have left us in tears. San Francisco is not the easiest place to do Real Estate, and it pays to work with someone who has the experience and expertise to make the process feel smooth. And I should mention that he helped us get an amazing price for our unit with his even tempered and calm negotiation skills. I would use Michael again and I have recommended him to multiple friends.

Michael Salstein has been my realtor and most importantly a friend since 2004 when I relocated to San Francisco from LA. I had lived in San Francisco for a few years prior but was not a home owner during that time. When I was relocating to SF from LA Michael was my realtor. He was great as he started showing me a variety of homes to help pinpoint what would be the ideal home for myself. After about 3 weekends of looking the ideal home discovered and he made sure that I got it! A few years later he helped me buy my East bay home and then this past year he sold our SF Condo for us.
