Mason O’Farrell Garage

I parked here because it was the closest parking garage to union square and that is where I was trying to go. Since this was my first time parking here, I didn’t know what to expect but I know it was cheaper than parking at the union square garage right below union square. Finding the lot was pretty easy but getting to the actual lot was difficult especially during the holiday season.
This parking garage is huge with 5 floors and laid out pretty nicely. There are plenty of parking spots but they are semi small for larger cars. The whole getting around in this lot is semi confusing if you are there for the first time but I managed to find my way around quickly. The elevators here are quick and there is also a staircase if you are feeling rather active. There are also two separate entrances and exits depends on which street you are approaching the garage, which is great!
I used the garage for l as than 2 hours and I paid $ 4-​$ 5 dollars which I thought was very reasonable compared to the Union square garage which is $ 15 for one hour, which I think it’s absurd. I will definitely be parking here again since it is close to union square and close to all the shops and parking rates are reasonable, the place also seems secure & it’s open 24/​7, so it doesn’t get any better than that!

SCAM Unilocal deal. They didn’t honor the Unilocal check-​in offer. Cashier claimed it was Unilocal’s fault for posting an offer that wasn’t valid.
Avoid or at least understand that the checkin offer won’t get you any discount.

I stayed at the Hilton Union Square so this garage was a perfect location, right across the street. The rates were the cheapest around, $ 35 for 24 hours. Many of the floors were full, but ultimate I found a spot.

I really love parking here! It’s a block away from Ruby Skye and will always be cheaper than the parking garage/​valet that’s across the street and right in front of Ruby Skye. Ramp is a bit scary as you drive down or up because you feel like you’re going to hit the sides. Some people don’t know how to drive in that parking structure properly, so have patience. Security are pretty nice and let you do what ever you like lol.

Had to change my review to 5 stars because of the most helpful and awesome managers that got back to me quick! They contacted me through Unilocal (which was a huge surprise bc I honestly didn’t think they followed their reviews) and were able to give me some money back according to the Unilocal deal I was at first unable to use. Chad, Izzy, and Benny were very apologetic and professional, and they are a great team for working together to help me work out my Unilocal deal :) Parking in SF is no joke, and any discount on garage parking (to keep your car safe) helps. Great Unilocal deal from a very helpful and caring management.

I checked in and wanted to use the $ 12 5 hour limit Unilocal deal. Showed it to the employee and he had no idea what I was talking about. He was old school so I bet he never heard of Unilocal.But they should let all their employees know about the deal, could’ve saved myself $ 10! Oh well, didn’t argue with the guy nor waste my time explaining Unilocal deals, and just wanted to get home asap.

It’s a parking garage in SF — one cannot really expect much. It’s expensive, packed, and people who use it often forget how to park a car — too far into the spot, hugging the right or left side. The columns running through the place are annoying (difficult to get out of the car.)
The good thing is that it’s central, but still far enough away from all the crowds and the traffic.
Now, the annoying part. You have to pay before you exit (like in most garages) and you cannot pay at the exit gate. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve been stuck behind an idiot who forgot to pay. Sometimes the line backs up several floors. Oh, and did I mention there is only one exit lane? Ugh!!!

A well recommended parking spot for small to medium cars.
We parked our car here for two nights as we stayed close to the union square. It was miles cheaper than the valet parking of our hotel and about as pricey if not cheaper than other parking houses near by. The garage is clean, well organized and well lit. We found parking every time we returned from day trips despite the «the garage is full» sign. So don’t let the sign turn you off.
The parking costs $ 32 for 12 – 24 hours which we thought was fine but still pricey hence only 4 stars. Yet we would come back unless we find something cheaper nearby.

I found this garage ok, and no more expensive than any other, but I didn’t feel like my car was safe. They pack you in too tight — no room to open a door and get anything out, so certainly scary trusting the person next to you not to whack your car when opening theirs. A few bums hanging around scrounging for money, but that’s the area. Ok overall, but not anywhere great.

A very tall and older parking garage located down the street from the ACT and Curran theaters. Circular ramps to access the floors make for exciting driving.
Discounted parking if you go to a ACT production. When you return to the garage, there are garage personnel right there at the pay machines to get you your discount. Also, when you leave, an employee directs you to the correct exit so you won’t get stopped by traffic at a red light, and takes your ticket.
Works just fine. Had to go up 7 floors to get parking, but it was plentiful when we got there. Seemed safe to me. Never leave anything at all in plain view in your car. Ever.

$ 12 for 1 hour and 23 minutes. Ladies and gentlemen, what we have here, is a serious case of the dumbz.
This parking garage is not only expensive, but it’s filled with hooligans who loiter around your car and make you fear for your car’s life. Oh, and did I mention its a total mc dump a dump??? Park your car on the street (if you can find it) it will probably be safer. My suggestion though is to go to the sutter parking garage. It’s easier to navigate, cheaper, and you have the security of free valet parking (which means liabilities fall onto them, what whaaaat). Even if it’s a convenient location, park in the sutter parking garage and just burn some calories by walking farther.

Good: Open ²⁴⁄₇. Feels secure. Good location if you want to access Union Square.
Bad: $ 8/​hr. Currently all of the specials (early bird, etc…) are suspended for the holiday season, so if you park for more than 4 hours you’re paying the full $ 32 for 24-​hours of parking regardless of whether you use it.

It’s been a few years but man has this place gotten expensive. Since it was raining cats and dogs the garage was warranted for some needed cover. I forgot how narrow and twisty the up and down columns are. Look out for the drunk club kids both before and after shows. $ 26 for 3 hours? that’s some crazy ridic shit but I guess they have captive customers.

I parked here daily for a week and I found it to be very convenient. Automatic pay stations are located in the lobby and you’re off. And, it’s open ²⁴⁄₇. Bonus!
The garage elevators are going through a renovation this summer, so bring patience while waiting for the one and only working elevator.
But, this is my ‘go to’ parking garage in this part of the city.

Decent garage since they allow in and out privileges. You need to arrange this with the attendant after you park for the first time.
The only downside is that the elevators are slow. However the location is great if you need to be close to Union Square.

Garage. Busy area. Walking distance to clubs. Take ticket, pay when done. Good place to hang out in your car before the club if you finished dinner too early, haha.
They charge $ 2 for every 15 minutes or portion thereof. I appreciate that they have security patrolling the garage, makes me feel safer leaving my car.

I always park here when I am going to the Curran Theatre… it is especially great because its only $ 12 parking when attending a show!
The garage is very big and very well lit… my only complaint and what kept it from getting 5 stars is that it ALWAYS smells like piss!!! Like ALWAYS, I don’t get it… we’re grown ups people! Can’t you go before you leave the club/​bar? or wait till you get home? Word of advice, DO NOT park next to any wall or type of barrier that could be used to hide some jerk taking a piss cause I can guarantee you will step in a piss puddle that way!
Other than that I don’t have any complaints about this parking garage.

Update to my previous review:
They did get the situation fixed pretty quickly when I did the Consumerist’s EECB on their top staff, but it still irks me that an email to their claims department resulted in no replies at all. Their general email address doesn’t work, and their main # is only answered mon-​fri 9 – 5, which sucks when you work full time and can’t take the time to call.
Their Division Mgr helped out and got a refund processed the monday after I wrote my initial review. Hopefully they’ve looked into the credit card situation and hopefully no one else gets hit with the same bug as I did at the pay machine.

No real complaints. The garage was right next to our hotel and charged ten bucks less, so it was a relative deal. There was another garage up the street that boasted $ 20 with in and out privileges, but we didn’t check it out.
The pay machines are abundant and fast. We kept the car here for three nights with no problems. I just wish that we could have been able to use the car in between without having to pay another fee.
The elevators are a little ornery. They like closing, and they like closing fast. We saw two families lose a child in the elevators. Unfortunately, one was quite small, and the family freaked that he was alone in a sketchy elevator in SF. Bottom line: hold on to your children!

I don’t know but I haven’t parked in this garage until now. There’s actually better rates here than other garages in surrounding areas. And when i came in asked the parking attendant some questions, he was cool about it and gave me some parking pointers. I’ve been using the 5^th and Mission garage more, but I think I’ll be utilizing this one!
Cons: Yeah, the other reviewer was right think when guys can’t find a bathroom they use the corners here eeww! Probably because there’s Infusion Lounge down the street (?)

There’s nowhere else I’d be found parking at night after 5:30pm than at the Mason O’Farrell Garage. For a $ 15 flat rate, it’s a steal compared to any other garage!
Ever since I became a regular at Ruby Skye from 2005 – 2007, I never had any problems parking at this garage. It’s airy and cleaner than most garages in the area. And now that I’m too old for clubbing, it’s become my preferred garage when I’m in the area.
I parked on the third floor during the 2009 Unilocal Unwrapped Holiday Party. At 5:38pm, parking was easy to find. Upon rolling up the entry ramp before grabbing the validation ticket, there’s an electronic board which monitors the available spaces in each floor. It’s not accurate to the point, but I find it very helpful.
Even if you get there before 5:30pm, the parking attendants will sometimes let you slide by and reprogram your entry time so you can get away with it.
HINT: Don’t park in the corners. Sometimes when people are drunk and you can’t find an immediate restroom, the next best place to pee is in the corners. Be careful of puddles!
