Located in the mall food court, they have a lot of things to try. So after visiting NYC and Boston last year, i could go for a good Lobster Roll. I ordered the Maine Lobster roll, it wasn’t bad, lots of meat. I guess i was looking for a Boston Lobster Roll? With a thick creamy mayo sauce mixed with the lobster? The Lobster Bisque was also just ok. Well It wasn’t terrible, but I don’t know if its a place to write home about.

DONOTORDERTHEIRLOBSTERMELTS! We ordered one because the picture looks so good, but it’s a total rip off! Taste wise it’s actually pretty good, if only they actually give you some decent amount of lobster.

Ouch. This is new. It is lobster. I missed the New England food and feel, but Lobster ME just falls flat. Check in with Unilocal here and you can get a free cup of Lobster Bisque too, but don’t expect any actual pieces of Lobster in it. It just sort of tastes like it and comes with the worst oyster cookies ever. It’s in what I believe is a cursed location off the escalator leading to the food plaza. Everybody will walk by it and check it out, but walk past it to check other places and then probably not come back to it. I’ve been here enough to finally give it a shot, the lobster smell got to me. I asked the cashier what she liked the best and recommended«the Frenchy» lobster melt. I unfortunately just didn’t want to spend more than $ 12 at a shopping mall food court, so the Frenchy melt with chips was it. It is described as made with butter poached lobster, thick white bread grilled on a panini press with brie and shallot cream cheese. Well let’s say it was more like an over buttered Wonder bread cheese melt with too much cheese and grease. The lobster pieces were sparing, but even with more I’m not sure I could have tasted it over the butter and cheese. Plus, it came with some absurdly soggy chips that were honestly soggy and worse than any Lays I’ve ever had. Just dump some fresh Lays in there and it might be better off. I’m glad that there’s an option for lobster close by and not at a $$$$ premium, but considering it is a food court and downtown with subpar quality I really don’t think this is the right spot or price point for the experience. Just too expensive too. Ahh, can’t get over that! $ 18 for a lobster roll in a mall?! I just can’t throw away money like that, no matter how rich. Just take a pass on this one everyone. Please.

So my wife and I had tried this place as somewhat of a «make up» lobster roll fix after having Cousins in Napa and being a little surprised by the lack of mayo there. Maybe it was our ignorance but I’ve always seen lobster rolls in a lobster«salad» fashion, with the mayo mixed it. But more on that in the Cousins review. It is relevant because we were determined to get our fix before heading back to Seattle, a place seemingly less interested in this genre. So here we were, taking in one last lunch in San Fran before ending our Napa trip and excited to get a «mulligan.» The server and an Asian male manager(?) both seemed put out with my request for clarification on the mayo situation, hence the 3 stars but it is somewhat unfortunate for them because the lobster roll was excellent. Expensive, surely, as you’ll read in other reviews for this place but I guess I’m not as surprised or disappointed, considering the economic factors involved. You know, primarily… That you’re eating LOBSTER on the WESTCOAST!!! The cole slaw looked scary, as if it was stolen from a nearby school cafeteria AND sat for days but I will admit again, the roll wasn’t half bad.

The butter break is so soft and unflavored, the seasoned lobster is just ok. For $ 18 dollars, this is a three star to the most. Compare to the lobster rolls I can get from Ny for the same price, it’s fairly disappointing.

Being from the northeast and with all the options in NYC, I was hoping to feel at home with a great lobster roll. I ordered the Maine but after waiting for my order and because I had friends waiting for me, I thought I would try the CT roll which I was accidentally served. The lobster meat was«ok» and seemed to have more filler than you would get in Maine or NYC(where, at that price, there would normally be no filler). Also, the bun was awful — dry on the inside despite being soaked in butter. I scraped the few bits of lobster meat, which set me back $ 16, onto the plate and used garlic bread from my friend’s meal from another food court joint to create my own roll. Very disappointing. To make it worse, added on a small fountain soda and a tiny chowder for $ 6 more. $ 22.75 for a lousy lunch — well — the chowder and soda were good. I thought this would be my indulgent big meal of the day but I’m ready to go eat something better and more substantial(and hopefully cheaper) for dinner only a few hours later.

I think Lobster ME is actually 3 stars, but I don’t feel it deserves a 2 star average so I rounded up. My one takeaway from the experience here: Don’t order the sandwich! I saw the sandwiches coming out and they were extremely tiny. I’d leave a low rating too if I paid $ 18 for a sandwich smaller than my hand. Luckily, we were more interested in the lobster poutine, which was cheaper than the sandwich. Fries were made to order, so it took 5 minutes or so to come out. We weren’t blown away by amazing flavor, but it was definitely adequate and had enough lobster to satisfy us. Lobster was average quality. If I was eating this by myself, I doubt I could finish it — we couldn’t finish it with two people. I wish they would use cheese curds instead of the cheese sauce, but it was a decent offering. I think Lobster ME is a pretty solid option for the food court here — just avoid the sandwiches!

The number of stars here does not do justice to how awesome Lobster ME is. Granted we do live in San Francisco, it’s pretty awesome to have the option of eating quality lobster inside the food court of a mall. I was able to try a variety of the lobster rolls here and they are all delicious– huge chunks of lobster inside a buttery and soft roll. And just to put it out there– the Original Maine Style Lobster Roll is a must. If you are extra hungry, I would definitely order the Lobster Mac and Cheese. To top it off, Lobster ME is also known for their lemonade; you’ll want to order a second Blueberry Lemonade. And if you’re a vegetarian– do not fear! There are a few delicious melts to choose from and you can ask for the Lobster Cheese Fries without the lobster. The staff are all super friendly and the food is great! If you’re shopping and need something to fill your belly, Lobster ME is absolutely the restaurant to go to!

This has been on my list of places to visit after I tasted their lobster roll at a Unilocal Elite event :) Expect for it to be expensive, it’s freaking lobster after all and it’s in the Westfield mall. Don’t be fooled by the food court area, it’s San Francisco downtown food court. It will be expensive. I ordered the cajun lobster roll and a lemonade, costing me $ 20.55. The roll included coleslaw and chips.(I think they make their own chips). They don’t skimp on the lobster, yay! This was the main thing that concerned me since businesses usually serve their best at events. But no, you have more than enough lobster in that small bun. It was filling for me. I had a good experience, I’ll probably try them again when I go shopping at this mall again.

Quick Review: If you want to get full, I recommend trying the lobster melt Food: Original Melt Combo(Melt $ 10/Soup & Drink $ 4/Fries $ 2) = $ 16 Customer Service: Fast for how busy it was Timeframe: work week lunch I pretty much love all seafood but it has always been hard for me to get into lobster rolls. No matter where you go be prepared to spend an arm and a leg for a lobster roll, that’s just how it is. I actually had a good experience here because it was fairly fast and I got the Lobster Melt with Fries & Lobster Chowder. *Lobster Melt: I’m a big grilled cheese person and they have a gruyère & secret cheese blend lobster melt. Half of my sandwich had large chunks of lobsters and the other half it was nonexistent. The bread is nice and thick, didn’t get soggy. *Lobster Chowder: Nice and creamy but I couldn’t tell if there was supposed to lobster chunks. I got little pieces here and there. *Fries: Not too salty and a little bit of a tangy kick to them.

I love this place. It’s easily located in the food court area down stairs in the Westfield mall of San Francisco. Just having the option to eat lobster at such an inexpensive price is nice, not to mention the variety you get for having a spot that’s fast food oriented. The service is decent. They have great customer service and a friendly staff. You have to wait a little bit for the food, but no longer than 10 – 15 minutes, usually sooner. I usually get the original lobster melt. It’s 10 bucks by itself but can be turned into a combo with drink, and soup or fries for another 6 bucks. They have lobster rolls that come wjth more meat but they’re a bit more expensive. You can add more lobster meat to any item for 9 bucks. The melts are pretty creamy with and come with some lobster meat so that by itself is pretty filling to me. I say go ahead and give it a shot. You’re getting lobster meat that’s pretty tasty for a decent price.

Lobster ME? Lobster YOU! And twice on Sundays. I’m seriously not sure what happened here, but if you’re looking for an Old Cape Cod-type of experience with the spray of the salty sea on your face and a sea captain telling you how the big lobster got away, this wouldn’t be it. This is Westfield after all, the home of anything overpriced in San Francisco. The sad irony is that this is part of a chain that originates in Portland, ME, so you would think there would be some sense of that part of the country in the product. Nope, I’ve had lobster rolls in New England, and this didn’t evoke any good memories of those lovely morsels. First, the service was interminably slow when I tried this spot recently. There was a dinner hour line that just wasn’t moving with any sense of purpose. Once I got within view of the overhead menu, I decided to try their $ 18 Original Maine Style Lobster Roll. No, that wasn’t a typo… yes, it’s $ 18, which wouldn’t normally raise my ire except this is a fast-food operation and I felt like some glass ceiling was breaking with that exorbitant price. When I got it, it was disappointingly small and probably amounted to $ 1.50 per bite. Although the buttered split-top roll felt authentic, the lobster just didn’t taste that fresh. Adding insult to injury, they decided to add chunks of celery, chives and a heavy mayo as filler, so it appeared like you got more lobster meat. I decided to go for a combo deal that added a poutine-like concoction called Chowder Fries for an additional $ 6. Instead of brown gravy, they poured clam chowder on fries and added cheese sauce, chopped tomato and bacon bits as well. It was marginally better than the lobster roll, but I was already letting out a big meh by the time I ate it. There was a tiny bit of cole slaw which was hardly worth the effort of serving. With my small Diet Coke, I felt like $ 24 was quite steep for my downeaster downer of a meal(photo: ). FOOD — 2 stars… absurdly high price for a paltry roll of marginal quality AMBIANCE — 3 stars… it’s the mall, remember? SERVICE — 2.5 stars… still getting their sea legs, I presume TOTAL — 2 stars… maybe the Gorton’s fisherman is available for house calls

I’ve really been craving a lobster roll but I was disappointed here. There didn’t really seem to be any other appealing choices at the food court though. The Lobster Mac and Cheese, Lobster melt, and Lobster Poutine all sounded so good… but I ended up getting a Lobster roll. Tried to order the lobster roll that came with Panko Bread Crumbs… but pretty sure they got the order wrong. Hella tiny and not filling. Lobster roll craving not satisfied. Definitely need to go somewhere else and get another lobster roll sometime soon.

Such a disappointment. I was here when it was being built so when I returned to San Francisco and was excited that it was finally open. The line was long and the wait was even longer after we ordered. I knew this was a good sign, but alas it was not. After paying $ 23 for a lobster roll and the clam chowder fries I was expecting Maine to jump into my mouth. The lobster roll was pathetic. More bread than lobster. I just finally stopped eating the bread and ate the lobster by itself. It was pretty flavorless and not worth $ 16. The coleslaw had no dressing on it and was just a cabbage mix. No flavor at all. The only saving grace at this place was the clam chowder fries. The cashier talked me into these as I was frightened of soup on fries, but wow oh wow were they good. They were crispy, hot fries with a dab of clam chowder that acted like cheese would. It made them gooey and soft and so full of flavor. If they work out their horrendous long wait and maybe give more lobster than an thimbleful this place would be so much better.

When: Friday, October 16th around 3:15pm What: Lobster bisque($ 6 for 8oz) & The lobsicle($ 12) Why: 2nd lunch I wasn’t feeling our catered work lunch last Friday as it was all rice and very little meat and veggies. I was still hungry afterwards, so I decided to drop by Lobster Me for something to satisfy my hunger. I didn’t know what I wanted before I got in line, but I knew I didn’t want any bread. Decided on the soup and lobster tail. Upon getting the tail on a stick, it looks incredibly small. About the size of a giant prawn. I thought to myself, I wasted $ 12 on this?! But after picking it up and taking a few bites, it is larger than it seems. But it’s still a super small lobster tail. I probably ate it in about 5 – 6 small bites. The soup was just plain bad. Super thick and goopy. Not a smooth creamy bisque like I wanted. The up side is there were pieces of lobster in the soup and it was a good dipping sauce for the lobsicle. Lobster Me needs a little time to work out their service kinks as the line moved really slowly. The girl taking my order seemed to have issues with the POS system while taking my order, only to realize she was logged out of the system? Even the wait for the food took a while. And I noticed about 3 – 4 people who were behind me in line getting their food before I did. Maybe my tail takes longer? All the employees were really apologetic and very sweet which I appreciated. I’d say Lobster Me is like a fast food lobster stand. I’m sure their sandwiches and rolls are better, but I’m more of a seafood purist. I guess for me, I’d rather spend more money on lobster than get a fast lobster roll.

I had the lobster roll which was delicious, and then I had the lobster bisque which was a big waste of money, so this place gets an average of 3 stars. The lobster roll had an ample amount of lobster on soft, buttery bread. The lobster bisque had no chunks of lobster in it. It was the same consistency as a latte. Total rip-off. It just had this tomato-tasting, artificial lobster flavor to it. Avoid the lobster bisque at all cost!

I couldn’t wait to try this place after seeing their Opening Soon sign for months. I finally got to try it during lunch time. There was a long line when I got there. The line starts behind their counter, so you can actually view the prep/cooking area. We observed chaos and disorganization in the back. Someone barking a lot of orders, two people furiously working with their head down, a few others who seems terrified of what is happening. As I made it to the cashier, I was alarmed to see more than 20 people standing off the side. Are they all waiting for their food? Not sure. One cashier, but it moved pretty fast. I ordered the Beltway for $ 18 and paid an extra $ 5 for lobster bisque soup and a soda. AFTER I signed the check(with tip and all), I told the cashier that I wanted a Diet Pepsi. Without much apology she stated that the soda machine was broken and would I want water or lemonade instead? I said lemonade even though I really should drink anything acidic because I didn’t want to pay extra for tap water. Since it’s only the third day they’re open, I did not expect perfection. But sadly, despite that consideration, I left feeling disappointed. After a very long time, I received my order and they had ran out of lobster bisque, so I got the clam chowder which was ok. They ran out of coleslaw. The lobster roll was VERY small. I don’t think I’ve EVER had a lobster roll that small and certainly not for $ 18. I did take a picture with a fork so people can see. I don’t mind paying a lot more for lobster roll in California, but this size is ridiculous. Not likely to come back.

I cannot believe I waited for over half a year for this. I was extremely juiced up when I saw the coming soon sign. I’ve seen the lobster rolls from their Vegas locations and they look amazing, with sizable pieces of lobster, not smothered in mayo, everything about it was just screaming«eat me». I felt like a kid getting generic crayons instead of crayola. My face couldn’t hide my disappointment. I just spent $ 20 on a lobster roll meal where the roll was smaller than your… Half of a lee’s sandwich?! Ok fine, let’s just keep it fancy and talk about the quality of my damn meal. The fries and my apple cider were the highlights of my meal. Ehh maybe lobster poutine would have been a better choice. Apple cider tasted just like an apple juice though. The roll was like a piece of thick toast mildly buttered and trying to hold together the lobster and chives with its dear life. Lobster meat was minimal, with just two pieces that were not shredded. Original Maine lobster roll, your meat was overdone and bland. The slaw tasted like it came straight out of your ready made salad mix. What is it, I don’t even… But the people working there were nice and friendly. They have that going for them, which is nice.

Tried out Lobster Me at the Westfield Mall Food Court next to Beard Papa. They were giving out FREE lobster rolls for 3 days to the first 100 people. I went Mon 9÷28÷15 and was about the 10 person in line after it opened at 10am. It took a while to get the food because they weren’t ready yet. We had a choice of water or lemonade. I tried the lemonade, tasted ok. Lobster roll was tiny, I hope that’s not the size they are selling for $ 18. Came with some house-made chips I didn’t eat and tiny cup of coleslaw. I liked the food and probably will come again. The lobster cheese sandwich is $ 10 — I might try that next time.

Overpriced for the quality and quantity. I ordered the Cajun sandwich($ 18) with an add-on of chowder fries($ 6). The portions were astonishingly small. You can refer to the picture I added to see how sad the meal looked. The combo was not a good deal. I didn’t get the chips that normally come with the sandwich and instead got about 10 fries topped with slightly hard diced potatoes in a buttery goop. I’d rather pay more for the lobster club at the Rotunda and eat at a nicer establishment.
