I am not a huge Unilocaler, but I was so happy with the Let’s Be Frank Hot Dog Stand as one of my wedding food vendors, that I made an account just for this. I booked the Let’s Be Frank Hot Dog Stand for my wedding on May 29th. I personally am a Vegetarian, and the vegan dog was the BEST I’ve ever had. Topped with some Devil Sauce… mmmmmmm! My friends and family were lovin’ the hot dogs and a few of them even purchased extra Devil Sauce to take home. Aside from the food being delicious, the service was absolutely fantastic. The entire time leading up to the wedding, I worked with Sue. She was friendly and helpful, and made the process a piece of cake. One of the easiest aspects of planning my wedding. When I finally got a chance to visit the cart during the wedding, she greeted me super warmly and gave me a jar of the amazing Devil Sauce as a wedding day treat. She even made an extra vegan dog and saved it to the side for me. Sue stayed longer than we booked her and made friends with just about everyone that stopped by. I am so happy I ended up booking them for the wedding and highly recommend! Thanks, Sue!

Let’s be frank — a hot dog should never cost $ 7. Ever. I don’t care who has made it. Who designed your typography. What kind of sauce you use. A hot dog in the end is random parts of meat pushed through a machine. In this case, grass fed animals that were then pushed through a machine. Yea, on my end I should have asked first before purchasing. I had assumed a street hot would be fairly priced. As for the actual hot dog. The bun was sad, and added little to no value to the experience. The dog itself was tiny. All in all, a less than mediocre hot dog that was extremely overpriced. Take me back to NYC

This place gets one star as we got stood up by Let’s Be Frank catering on my daughter’s 6th birthday! She loves hot dogs and was really looking forward to sharing with her guests. I can’t even describe the frustration we experienced when we had to find out our food is not coming when all 50 guests already arrived. The owner did not honor(and most likely completely forgot) about the arrangement we made over the phone a week prior to the event and later blamed all on me because I never signed a contract with her, which she never even mentioned or sent! When I finally reached her on the day of the event she did confirm that she’s coming but then an hour later left a message saying she mixed me up with another customer and she’s in another city doing that customer’s party. Altogether, really disappointing experience.

I was happy with the hot dogs they offered(couple different) and the service was nice. Price… okay. The guy was friendly! This cart was part of some arts fair in the neighborhood, so I dont know how often he is at this location.

$ 6 but no bacon wrapped around it or booze in me and from a cart?! Good lord is what I thought indeed. The guy manning the stand two Sundays ago was so friendly though. The all beef hot dog, although isn’t a Chicago dog was really flavorful and fresh. Loved the grilled onions and the acme roll. But what blew us away. their hot sauce which was like a chutney. Amazing. but got a little bit of it on my top, so I smelled like it the rest of the day. Worth it? Yep! We were in line for Biergarten and instead decided to try Let’s Be Frank. Glad we did. Cash only.

On Sunday, 8÷31÷14, I got a hot dog for a quick bite to eat at Let’s Be Frank Hot Dog Stand. Atmosphere/Décor: The little hot dog cart is located right next to Smitten’s Ice Cream. The hot dog cart is also equipped with a grill and huge umbrella to block the sun. Food: I ordered the regular hot dog. It was delicious! Definitely one of the better hot dogs I’ve eaten. The hot dog tasted really good and had a nice flavor to it. The bun was soft and fresh. I got grilled onions on my hot dog which even added more flavor. I tried there special Devil’s Sauce and didn’t like it. It’s basically a chutney. It was very spicy and tasted like curry in my opinion. Good thing I got it on the side. Good old fashioned mustard did the trick for me. Service: The guy working at the stand was very polite and nice. Overall: If you want a delicious hot dog go hit up Let’s Be Frank Hot Dog Stand. Then right after go get yourself a delicious ice cream from Smitten’s. That’s exactly what I did

On our way to Smitten ice cream. I smelled the sweet aroma of this food cart. Good customer service! All the hotdogs on the menu are $ 6! My boyfriend and I both love spicy food so we went for the heat dog. This hotdog is just the right amount of spicy. They top each of their dogs with grilled onions. And the best part? Well to be frank… is thee devil sauce. So unique and a perfect topper for the hotdog. I regret not purchasing a jar, definitely will next time. I imagine putting that sauce on any savory food: tacos, rice, steak.

What a cute little hotdog stand on a bright sunny day in Hayes Valley. My boyfriend and I shared the Heat Dog, which wasn’t that spicy. We got onions and the recommended chutney sauce to go with it. Not bad, but not the best dog I’ve ever had. I do like that there are no nitrates or nitrites in these, there are no antibiotics, and the pork is family farmed, and the beef is 100% grass fed. The prices were reasonable too, considering the quality of meat/poultry.

Let’s Be Frank has some of the best hot dogs in my opinion, way better than anything that you’d find at PINK’s in LA. I think I paid $ 6 or $ 8 for a grass fed beef dog that was so delicious and worth the money. They provide your basic toppings and some of their original special sauces that, according to my friends, were quite tasty! The buns were soft, customer service was grade A, and the line moved pretty quickly.

Hands down the best hot dog I’ve had in the Bay! Walked by this stand a couple times and finally gave in to the mouth watering smell! Order the«hot» dog with spicy devil sauce and grilled onions and you’ll have your tastebuds craving for more! Conveniently located in the Presidio right by the beach, you can easily purchase your hotdog and go enjoy it by the beach front. If you’re looking for a quick bite before your trek to the Golden Gate or just craving for some delicious dogs, this is the place to stop by.

There’s a camping adage dictating that everything tastes better eaten outside amongst the elements so it surprises me that this place doesn’t rock my world. It always tempts me a little less than the Warming Hut right beside it but the Warming Hut doesn’t allow my dog inside. She’s a great dog, certainly worth more to me than a latte, so that’s how Let’s Be Frank wins my business. The guys who grill up the dogs are friendly enough. There’s an assortment of dogs. They’ll add grilled onions and peppers for free upon request. They’ve even got Devil Sauce to slop all over it. Still, something in dogville ‘aint all that. Top Dog in Berkeley? Now that’s a 5-star dog. Hot Link at an A’s game? A 4-star dog. Eater just published a «13 Hottest Dogs in SF» list and these guys didn’t make the cut. They’re not bad but given their location, at one of the top sites in the entire City(fact-like opinion), I want better. You should too. Hold your hunger or hand your real live dog over to someone you can trust, then run into the Warming Hut and get something a bit more worthy of your surroundings.

Two words: DEVILSAUCE!!! Stopped in the location across from Blue Bottle after some Smitten. If I knew I was in for such a treat, I would’ve definitely ordered a smaller ice cream portion so I can devour a full hot dog instead of splitting half of it with my other half. Ordered the Frank Dog(all grass-fed beef dog) and had it topped off with grilled onions and their famous devil sauce. Man oh man, was that devil sauce AMAZING. The sauce had a nice but not overpowering kick of heat with great spices all in a somewhat chunky chutney style. Not to mention, all the ingredients used to make the devil sauce is organic! The sauce was so good, my friend bought a jar($ 9) so he can enjoy it at home. The sauce seems good with stir fry and any grilled/bbq meats. I’m not a big fan of buying hot dogs unless it’s at Costco($ 1.50 for polish and drink? WINNER) but this $ 6 grass-fed beef frank was definitely worth it. The quality of meat as well as the amazing devil sauce made it so worth it. I can’t wait to go to my friend’s house next time just to grill up some dogs and top that devil sauce on top!

I stumbled upon this cart across Blue Bottle Coffee in Hayes Valley. I was hungry at the time and I was enticed by the words«grass fed beef dog» on the side of the cart. Looking at the menu, the cart features beef and pork hot dogs. They were each $ 6, but I figured it would be worth it to try. I ordered the Frank Dog which is the grass fed beef dog. It was delicious, but I definitely could not afford this type of thing all of the time. Be sure to get your dog topped with Devil Sauce!

Grass-fed beef… yeah!!! Such a bad idea running this way but make your work outs fun. I deserve a reward from time to time… The smell of the hotdogs were just irrisistable. I was defeated. I ate and savored the views. $ 6 hotdogs, $ 3 cold drinks — stop and have a break!

Hot dogs in a very convenient location for patrons where no hotdog stand would want to be. Its nice but don’t go out of your way to come here. Its okay hotdogs but its quality ones. Grilled onions, good of course; you can’t go wrong with that. You see lines for this all the time when you walk/run/bike by. Maybe i just like greasy hotdogs with not so quality ingredients that taste really good? Just maybe. Come here to try, you’ll either like it or not. Pros: Quality ingredients, Convenient Cons: Not that great Flavor[IMO] Star: 3

Dog friendly hot dog stand! And by dog friendly I mean that they sell grass-fed beef dog treats as well as donated $ 1 of every hot dog to the SPCA which was nearby doing a huge adoption event. The $ 6 Mutt Dog is half grass-fed beef and half pork(not sure if this is a happy pork). It’s REALLY juicy and flavorful. It has a kick of curry to it which I liked. And of course he used fresh Acme Bread buns that he picked up piping hot that morning. You may think $ 6 is overpriced and opt for the $ 1.50 dog + drink combo at Costco instead but the flavor definitely stands out.

Let me preface this review with a fact about me: I don’t like hot dogs. I love wieners and carbs of any sort(buns included), but put them together and for some reason the whole is way less than the sum of its parts. That was until I had a Let’s Be Frank hot dog. A bunch of food trucks – including Curry Up Now, the Taco Guys, and HapaSF – catered a corporate event at work. If I may be frank(har har!), Let’s Be Frank was at the bottom of my list of vendors to hit up. But, it was free. So I thought, what the hey? After I had my fill of samosas, chicken tikka masala burritos, sisig, lumpias, and tacos, I made my way to the modest hot dog stand. They only had dogs on hand – the Frank dog(100% local grass-fed beef) and the«Hot» dog(spicy pork). I went with the Frank dog with grilled onions( ). There are a few things that make these hot dogs not just bearable, but surprisingly very enjoyable, for me: 1. Devil sauce! Forget ketchup, mustard, relish, or anything else you normally dress your hot dogs with. This tangy chunky sauce( ) with just the right amount of heat has the perfect combination of spices(loved the curry, fennel, and cumin flavours!) that complement the wiener amazingly. I never want to eat another hot dog without this delicious sauce again! 2. The sausage was amazing! So plump, juicy, flavourful, and(most likely) fatty – just all around incredible. I also loved the snap I got biting into the lamb casing; it was the most remarkably delicious sensation! 3. They use Acme hot dog buns! As far as I’m concerned, Acme can do no wrong. It’s my favourite bakery and I love everything they make. The buns taste great and have crusts that are just chewy enough but still easy to bite through. 4. The very aromatic grilled onions provide a nice soft crunch and sweetness. I take back what I said before – this hot dog was definitely greater than the sum of its parts!

4 stars for all you folks looking for a decent dog this spot can probably fight your hot dog fix . ok here are some of the pros : snap in every bite bread slightly toasted for a crunch toppings for me always got to have some ketchup, dijon mustard, relish, pour some of that heavenly devils sauce all over for extra kick I tend to stay far away from sauerkraut haha just my preference the cons: dogs are a lil slim cost is a lil high for a hot dog $ 5.50 costco $ 1.50 plus some tax but that comes with a drink, again this is not a costco dog though haha they run out of the beef dogs quick here are some of the specs on my dog haha: Grilled onions or no grilled onions you can’t lose, the dijon mustard with some relish, ketchup, and some of that devil sauce makes all dogs just so finger licking good. haha I was able to try there pork bratwurst and there spicy brat both stepped to the plate and passed with better then average colors. If you looking for a snack or i’m sure these folks can keep you satisfied until you eat a full meal food **** snap, tasty, devil sauce on everything dam good haha price $ 5.50 for any dog with or without grilled onions, soda juices 2.50 and i think it was 1.50 for bottled water tad pricey for hot dogs service **** quick and friendly

Are you dat dog… AREYOUDATDOG? I’m askin’ ya. No? Then you nobody’s dog, huh. I enjoy a dog now and then, maybe now more than then, but who’s counting? So it’s hard to resist a hot dog stand walking along the Crissy Field trail. There were two guys in hoodies ’cause it was a nippy day. Not ’cause I was there, man… but because it was colder than a witch’s tit last weekend. All the dogs are $ 5.50, an OK price for a grass-fed dog, especially compared to the stuff you can get in the Warming Hut. I ordered the Brat Dog, farm fresh pork they claim(see photo). There aren’t too many frills except they use fresh Acme buns and supply grilled onions upon request. The devil sauce is tasty, and I downed that sucker in about four bites. You’re lucky I had the wherewithal to take a snap of it. One question for you before I skip to Fort Point… was dat dat dog? WASDATDATDOG? HOTDOG — 4 stars… quality ingredients make a difference AMBIANCE — 4 stars… breathtaking views and several picnic tables and benches at which you can chomp on your dog SERVICE — 3 stars… they serve them out, no big whoop TOTAL — 4 stars. dat was dat dog!

I dropped by this hot dog stand on a previous sunny weekend, right after my photography club meeting at Fort Point. They have beef, pork(bratwurst), turkey, and Italian dogs($ 5.50), served on Acme bread, which is a little better than the typical soft bun. I bought a bratwurst with grilled onions. Good taste, but the sausage is a bit thinner than other SF hot dogs. Also I wish they’d toast the bread, it would make it even better. You can only catch them on weekends, and only if the weather is good. They close as soon as they run out of dogs. The staff is not as friendly, but I don’t really care about that. LBF was the one who broke the $ 5 price barrier for hot dogs in SF a few years back, so complaining about the price is old news. My rating is based on the food alone, not the price point.
