Wow, it’s a really big school. Lafayette is where my little boy is attending summer school.
I met the Principal while looking for little one’s homeroom. The Principal seemed very upbeat and positive and he was immediately accessible; those are good signs.
I’m not sure such a big elementary school would be the right fit for my little boy for a full school year however the reviews and parent involvement at Lafayette seem excellent and that can overcome a large (dare I say «overwhelming») environment with hundreds of students.
My son is having a very positive summer school experience and that’s all that really counts — Grade «A».

I attended Lafayette Elementary School from 1975 – 1978. One of the best times growing up. Mr. David Monash was my principal and Mr. Fitzgarald was my Assistant Principal. Lafayette is the first school I joined the band. My teacher was Mr. Gough who wore pants that looked like he was carrying a hundred keys in both pockets. Met a lot of friends there to one I am still friends with to this day. Great teachers, fantastic talent shows and awesome field trips. Lafayette was a milestone in my life.

If all of the schools in SF were like Lafayette, the world would be a better place. I love this school for my daughter and recommend it to anyone who values their child’s education.
