Specialties
I am particularly drawn to people who are recently heartbroken or in the throes of a wild romantic conundrum. I also like working with couples and other configurations of people trying to sort out the complex issues that can arise in romantic relationship. I am drawn to children of all ages in need of extra attention or understanding. I’m also interested providing support and guidance for parents and caregivers will be certified to teach «parenting by connection» approaches in less than a year. I enjoy working with questions of meaning and purpose, life and death, and personal/spiritual identity.
As an MFT, my specialty is relationships of all kind. One of the most important things I do is help adults identify the things others do that «trigger» intense or painful feelings from their pasts. With children, I join them in their imaginary worlds to help them resolve conflict.
I am trained as an Expressive Arts Therapist and I rely on the arts when words will not suffice.

Business Owner
After working for years with severely emotionally disturbed teens in residential treatment I decided to pursue a masters degree in counseling psychology. In 2005 I received my MA from CIIS with a focus on expressive arts therapy. I practiced as an intern therapist for nearly three years at New Perspectives Center for Counseling where I assisted individuals, couples and children with a wide range of challenges. At NPCC I was more deeply exposed to transpersonal approaches and learned Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, which incorporates mindfulness, Zen Buddhism, and CBT. Later I served as school counselor at St. Nicholas Catholic School where I facilitated groups on gender identity for children and trained in a solution-based approach to school bullying. Recently I began an instructor certification course with Parenting by Connection focusing on parent-child connection rather than control. I have also trained and studied extensively with Jeannie Zandi who teaches Living as Love.
