I am a full-​time Realtor and have been since 1996. This is my career, my livelihood and I take it seriously. Most of my business comes from referrals and repeat clients.

I moved to the hear of San Francisco from Ohio in 1978 as a single parent to my son Stephen. We came to embrace all of the wonderful diversities The City had to offer.

Together we have lived in various locations throughout the city. My son grew up in San Francisco where he attended public schools.

I became a Realtor in 1996 after working for many years as an executive producer/​graphic designer for corporate communications and events. My experience has given me a fine eye for detail and design, as well as the professional skill necessary to negotiate high-​end transactions.

I have worked with Jennifer twice now. The first time almost 11 years ago when I was a first time home buyer, and now just within the last 6 months when I purchased a new home. She is a fantastic agent whether you are buying for the first time and are purchasing a «starter home» or if you are a seasoned buyer. The first time I bought a home, she took hours to explain to me the ins & outs, was extremely patient with me as I asked questions and submitted bid after bid in the extremely competitive SF housing market. She never tried to push me higher and always wanted to make sure that I was comfortable with my bid. In reality she must have known that many of my bids would fall short but didn’t try to increase my offer. 11 years later when we bought our next home, she used her expertise in the market to guide us what kind of offer would be most competitive without being frivolous, knowing how much we loved the property & that we were on a tight timeline. Whether I buy or sell a home in the future I will certainly use Jennifer again and highly recommend her to anyone — as we have already done to several of our friends.

My partner and I selected Jennifer to sell our home this year, and at every step of the way, have been impressed by her professionalism and warmth. After recommending a few improvements (interior paint, curb appeal items), she staged our home beautifully for the sale. This was no small feat since we have a toddler, but she staged it such that most of the fancy things could quickly be brought out for showings, and then tucked out of sight for family living. And once she staged our home, I found myself wondering if I’d ever have agreed to sell it if I’d known it could look so luxe! She’s got an amazing eye for bringing out the best in each room simply and elegantly.
She is very accommodating with regard to a family’s limitations to show at a moment’s notice, and scheduled all showings so that we could plan the night before and/​or morning of without too much preparation. Under Jennifer’s guidance, our home sold quickly, even in this aggressive market. She deftly navigated us through the offer selection process, and her professional relationship with the seller’s agent smoothed the process even further.
Jennifer is highly communicative, forthright, and refreshingly frank with her clients, and she clearly «had our back» throughout the process. She’s unafraid and firm, and knows how to help you get what you want.
Bottom line: Jennifer provides a painless process, is experienced, no-​nonsense, honest, and a blast to be around. I fully endorse her and would jump at the opportunity to work with her again.

I met Jennifer in 1998. We had been working with an agent at another firm who was ALWAYS late and it became extremely frustrating. So we walked into the Zephyr office on 24th Street and asked for a professional real estate agent who was good and ALWAYS on-​time. The receptionist called an agent to meet us and that is how we met Jennifer. At the time, we were motivated buyers looking for a 2 unit building in S.F.
We had a lot of requirements for our property (close to mass transit, nice back yard, east/​west exposure, parking, etc.). 1998 was a very difficult year for buyers but after less than 30 days we found the right property. There was one problem, there were going to be 20 – 25 offers for the property and we wanted it! We struggled and agonized over our offer and how to present it and Jennifer gave us a lot of advice (and cautioned us that we might not get the property). We spent at least two hours with Jennifer deciding on the price to offer. Fortunately for us, I had talked to the owner (not knowing at the time that he was the owner). On hearing this, Jennifer decided to include pictures of us in the offer letter. That did the trick, even though we were the 2nd highest offer (off by just a few thousand $) the owner had remembered us and decided to counter us.
Thanks to Jennifer, I have been living in this apartment (happily so) since 1998.
This year, I decided to buy an investment property and I decided to work with Jennifer again. Unfortunately for me, it is yet again a difficult year for buyers. Luckily, after going around with Jennifer for less than 3 weeks I was able to locate a property that met my criteria. Jennifer was as always professional, on-​time, provided useful advice and I closed on the property on April 5.
I am a very selective and detailed person who would normally get on the nerves of most agents. Jennifer understood my concerns, comforted me, helped me resolve a few issues and got much more involved (because I asked her to) than any agent should be required to.
Just a side note: Once Jennifer gets a good idea of the type of property you are looking for she won’t waste your time showing you properties that you would never be interested in. I have worked with other agents who never seem to get that. In a competitive market for buyers if you spend your time looking at the wrong properties you will never find the right property.
If you are looking for a good real estate agent in S.F. who is more concerned about you finding the right property then her next commission, I can HIGHLY recommend Jennifer.

Working with Jennifer as a first time home buyer was amazing, We met her at the Home Buyers Work shop and immediately clicked. She clearly knew her business and was a consummate professional — but she also REALLY enjoys her job and wants to help make you happy. She listened and guided and put us into the right house. She has a great creative eye, a sharp sharp business mind and makes sure that her clients get the best deal for their money. We bougt our first house with JAK.

Jennifer is wonderful and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her. Our close friends referred her, and she successfully helped them buy and later sell their home in Bernal (and we heard all the nitty gritty details). She was instrumental in our finding a two-​unit TIC we could afford near our daughter’s school — a miracle really. She didn’t laugh at our budget, and found something that worked for us and our TIC partners. I really think if it weren’t for her we’d still be renting, because she gave us the little push and the resources we needed.

Can’t say enough about my experience with Jen as a first time home buyer. We ended up with a TIC, and a process we couldn’t have done without Jen’s experience, guidance, and patience. What was most impressive to me about Jen was that whenever an opportunity presented itself for us to go to the seller with a price reduction, she was always on board, literally sacrificing her own compensation in order to best represent us, her clients.
She’s a great advisor, skilled negotiator, and patient hand-​holder. Our deal went sideways more times than I can count, and she saved it every time. Last point: we were in contract for seven months, and she stuck by us the entire time. That’s loyalty in a business not known for it.

I was referred to Jennifer when I was looking to buy my first home in San Francisco, and what an excellent referral it was. I would thoroughly recommend her to anyone who is trying to find an honest, insightful and attentive agent to assist them in navigating the process of finding and buying a home.
When we first met I wasn’t 100% sure what I was looking for, but I had some rough ideas. After sharing them with Jennifer, we immediately pulled up a rough cut of what looked good in the areas I wanted.
During the first round of apartments and houses we saw, Jennifer would carefully listen to my thoughts and ask me plenty of questions about each property. After the visits we did a quick wrap up and we booked our next outing.
During the second round of visits, the properties we saw just got closer and closer to feeling «right» for me. Again she was attentive and thoughtful about the feedback I gave and asked just the right questions to get to the heart of the matter.
On our third visit we found several places I loved, and one that was almost exactly the home I wanted to live in. In such a short time we’d narrowed it down and found the right place — which as many who have hunted for houses know, is very rare.
While I mightn’t have realised it at first, our success in finding such great places quickly was largely due to Jennifer’s skill and intuition. She asked the right questions and listened to everything I said, got in my head and then kept on top of the market until the right place crossed her desk.
The negotiation process was smooth and easy. Many people worry that an agent will try to push a sale on you (since both buying and selling agents are commissioned when a property is sold) but this wasn’t the case here. Contrary to putting pressure or settling for the quickest deal, Jennifer provided balanced advice, tough negotiation and put my interests first.
So that’s all great, but here’s the kicker: only 3 months after my sale, I had a pretty significant roof leak. Not sure of the local laws (I’m not from the area), I reached out to Jennifer for some advice.
At this stage remember that the deal’s closed, money’s changed hands, business transaction completed… but not only did she help and explain the appropriate course of action, she was very happy to call the old owner on my behalf and put the appropriate pressure to get it fixed.
Now that’s the sort of great support you’d want from someone helping to make some of the most important purchases you’ll ever make.
