I usually call it in ahead of time and pick it up. The sandwiches, soups and rice dishes are always delicious. I really like the grilled chicken. It’s not fatty and has a slight curry flavor to it.

Decent Sandwhich. Soft and crispy Bread.(Even when its Cold.) 3.95−4.50 4.50 was alright. More generous portions in the TL. Looking forward to dining there. Clean and lots of cute table and spaces.

Small Vietnamese restaurant next to the hall of justice. The service is good, and the waiter is very friendly. The food here is quite tasty with reasonable price. I always order chicken or pork sandwich or rice plate to go because the place would fill up very soon during busy lunch hour. Also, their soup and curry are quite yummy. Now they have TV installed and a nice refrigerator with variety of drinks available. The best thing is that they accept credit cards with minimum of $ 4.30 which is the price of a sandwich. I definitely will go again!

I would give the place another try but def the worst bahn mi I’ve ever had. That being said, I finished it… It was decent enough that I eat it all. The portions however, were just off. Too much bread & not enough sauce, flavor, or moisture to the chicken to balance it out. The chicken was unfortunately dry & there was barely any sauce to help the situation. The guy at the front was friendly & the place was decently clean(that’s why they get 2 stars) I would be willing to give them another try but not with the chicken bahn mi(unless they dramatically changed it). It was very inexpensive($ 3.95) which was nice that I didn’t spend too much on a less than successful sandwich.

We got a couple of BBQ banh mi for take out & they were quite good. Grab ‘n Go has very reasonable pricing: 2 hoagies cost about $ 9. Service was good. They take credit card.

This is a very small restaurant with limited seating. However, with three people cooking and serving, you don’t have to wait for a long time. I like how the owner and his son(?) are very sincere when dealing with customers. There are other places that are more fancy but the servers take orders like robots. The menu is reasonably short and I always order the same item: curry chicken.

I ordered the beef vermicelli bowl to go with an imperial roll and it was a) delicious and b) reasonably priced. I called ahead and it was waiting for me by the time I got there. The whole experience is exactly what I was looking for during a short lunch break.

I’m fine with rude owners, but this guy just doesn’t care. The food is great, but the guy ruins it. I came in and I ordered. Around three people came after me, ordered their food and got out. I wouldn’t care if this was the first time this happened — maybe an order got mixed up or whatever. But because this has happened several times that I’ve come here, makes it reason to believe I’m getting un-preferential treatment here for whatever reason. Good food, owner just doesn’t cut it.

Super friendly owner and staff. Great low prices for Soma, and tasty too. They accept CREDITCARD unlike other places, fast service. Their grilled pork is so tasty!

Just okay. If you are looking for a cheap lunch spot, this is a pretty decent spot, but you pay for what you get. Overall meat quality was poor and the Banh Mi was bland. If you’ve ever had the Banh Mi at Lee’s Deli(terrible!) this is only *slightly* better. Staff was friendly but there is no real customer service here. We were the only people in the entire place and we would have to proactive if we needed anything. So, if your wallet is your ultimate concern, this is a good space for a bite to eat, but if you are looking for something that will please your taste buds, there are lots of better options in the area.

Let me count the number of fails in this Grilled Pork Banh Mi that I got: (1) Bread got wet and mushy at one spot. Couldn’t you just make sure your working surface is dry when you make my sandwich? (2) Grilled pork was cold. I mean, I didn’t expect you to grill the pork for me on the spot, but at least microwave it for me? (3) Dude didn’t wash his hands after handling money from the previous order and went straight to work on my sandwich with his bare hands. (4) Last but not least: he coughed right into my sandwich while he was making it. I will give them one more star if I don’t get sick in the next few days.

In the area for jury duty. The grilled pork sandwich was pretty awful — only about 6 pieces of pork, tons of mayo(with no other sauces or spices) and little of any of the other ingredients(carrots, cilantro, cucumber), all for $ 4.30(tax included). The combination bahn mi was a bit more. VERY unimpressive compared to Saigon Sandwich where I stopped by on my way home, and ordered the combination pork, which was $ 4.25 even. It was filled with tons of meat(2 kinds of pork), gooey-ness and pâté! Wouldn’t recommend bahn mis at Grab ‘n Go, and would definitely not come back!

Fast, decent, cheap. Good service. Definitely not as good as Turtle Tower on the opposite corner, but sometimes you just don’t have time for the wait. Would come here again for a quick sit down lunch. I got the grilled beef noodle soup– beef came on the side(some suspicious pieces– some delicious), it was 3 star good. :)

Two spring rolls and a chicken bahn mi sammich, less than ten bucks. Need I say more? Not much. This is a really cute, or perhaps crammed, Vietnamese dive that operates on an economical system which allows for good pricing. I appreciate business owners that don’t look to rip off the general public. Here, the owner simultaneously works the register, delivers plates and cooks the food(with the help of another cook). So while you might find the personal attention just a tad lacking, you can justify it with the price. I thought the owner was very friendly, as well. As far as the eats go, I’ve had better, but they generally nailed what I was looking for. The fresh rolls with pork and shrimp were better than standard fare, I needed to balance out the peanut sauce with sriracha. While I was at it, I coated my sandwich with the red stuff. The chicken was grilled and tender, and the carrot and jalapeño was wrapped in a decent baguette; not crusty, just soft and plain. And hey, what do you expect for $ 3.50? All four of these stars represent value. A very nice lunch.

Grab n go is a pretty decent spot… but of course nothing in comparison to the south bay’s cheap and fast viet food. I have to say being in the city has given me a new found appreciation for cheap eats in SJ. So far, the only thing I really enjoy here is the banh mi thit nuong. The chicken bank mi is ok… didn’t enjoy the meat that much. The spicy chicken curry has weird chicken in it also. The curry was meh and wasn’t spicy at all. I do like that it had zucchinis and tomatoes in it though. The last time I was here I had the com thit bo(beef rice platter). It was a small portion of rice, grilled/bbq’ed beef, a sad clipping of lettuce and pickled carrots/daikon. I also asked for an egg… which was way over cooked. Overall it was ok… not bad. The beef was very lemon grass-y, but had a good texture. I believe the meal was $ 7. Their café sue da is also ok. Grab n go is just an overall ok spot.

Veggie/Tofu Banh Mi lovers… beware! This place has the absolute worst tofu vietnamese sandwiches I have EVER tasted. Looking at it, they simply put: 1. Old bagged iceberg lettuce 2. Soft sliced carrots that are not soaked in vinegar enough 3. 3 – 4 thin slices of cold tofu 4. Globs of mayo The bread was not toasted either. Never returning to this place for a tofu banh mi! I can’t wait for Wrap Delight to reopen(1 block down from Saigon Sandwiches).

One of the few dining options for people doing jury duty like me. Average cheap Asian food. The few small tables they have were taken, so I ordered to go. This time I got the grilled beef over rice($ 6.95) and added an imperial roll for a $ 1 more. The imperial roll was very greasy, seemed like it was cooked in old oil. The rice plate had decent flavor, u get a good amount of rice. Nowadays the place gets busy during the lunch period, so expect inconsistencies. The grilled chicken banh mi($ 3.25) is probably the best value for takeout. It doesn’t compare to Saigon’s, average flavor, bread not crunchy. But good enough to keep u from being hungry. Very happy now that we have another Vietnamese cuisine option with Turtle Tower, across the street. Okay, maybe the owner might not be too happy about the competition. But I still think there are plenty of customers with all the hungry jury duty people and Hall of Justice employees, to give enough business to both places.

Full name on their menu is «Grab ‘n Go Or Sit ‘n Eat» a rather generic name that sounds a little bossy. The owners kept it from the previous short lived Italian place. Kept costs down, but leaves the idle passer-by wondering WTF the little hole in the wall serves up. Short typical Viet menu with ~½ dozen each of Apps & Salads, Rice plates, Bun(vermicelli bowls), Banh mi, and Phở. Banh mi are $ 3.25 — $ 3.75 and they have grilled pork, chicken, and beef, «fancy» pork, truffle pâté, and fancy pork + truffle pâté combo(the only $ 3.75 sando). All are«served in a crusty toasted French baguette with pickled vegetables, herbs, chilies and homemade sauce» I grabbed a grilled pork ‘n go-ed to the office. Despite some time in the toaster oven, the baguette didn’t have that crackly crust I love to cut my gums on( ). The inner bread was also pretty chewy, not light. Lack of rice flour in their baguettes’ recipe? As far as fillings go, Grab ‘n Go is pretty generous with the meat and light on other things( ). The meat was nicely marinated and grilled with just a small touch of gristle in one bite. The carrots did not taste pickled and there was no diakon, but there were some sliced cucumber and jalepenos which added some crunch and flavor, but weren’t visible in that picture. Not a bad sandwich and it definitely beats out some of the other SOMA spots like Spice Kit(poor flavor balance ) & Muffins, Muffins(bland ).
