Absolutely a colonoscopy mill. good luck.
My doctor’s office (Bonacini) failed to even communicate certain concerns about anesthesia with Propfol (which is a subject of HUGE debate right now across the country — the US is the only place where it’s routinely used for this procedure)
When they called me, they acted all surprised that i wanted to talk to an anesthesiologist first.
I will be cancelling my appointment and would welcome recommendations to some place for a colonoscopy that isn’t a factory setting, and where they don’t lose track of basic patient questions even before the procedure.
Confidence level: exceptionally low.

The procedure itself was efficient and professionally done. Not excellent bedside manner, but it’s not brain surgery, so I’m not trippin’. The billing /​finance /​administrative staff leave a lot to be desired. I will not come back here (and hope I don’t have to) for that reason. I would just caution: make *sure* that you have an *actual* conversation with their billing staff well before your procedure so you are fully informed of the upfront costs. They were not willing to accommodate any sort of payment plan.

Dr. Mendiola is very professional. The nurses are friendly. The facility is clean and bright. A follow-​up call the next morning is also nice. Definitely a five star.

I was super nervous to have an endoscopy because I’ve never had surgery, any invasive procedure, or anesthesia before! I tend to talk a lot when I’m nervous, but everyone that was involved in my procedure was very friendly and to the point. No BS’ing.
When I woke up, I was handed an envelope that had detailed information and pictures about my procedure and my Dr. went over everything right then and there.
The attending nurses were awesome, I have never felt more comfortable being in a hospital setting, and I didn’t have any problem with the front desk.
I could pay my bill upfront at the time of the procedure, but I asked for the payment to be split between 4 total payments because I’d rather not put myself in the situation to be without funds for the next month. I paid the first ¼ on the day of and today I received my bill asking for the remaining total to be paid in one lump. I called the billing line and was transferred to someone in my region and she was able to sort that out for me!
I just wish the billing company just set up an online system for me to make payments so that is the only reason why I’m rating 4 instead of 5.
Hopefully I will never ever have to come back! :)

This place gets one star, which I’m willing to change if and when they clean up my billing mess that they created. I handed over my insurance on arrival and everything about my endoscopy went smoothly. That is until I’ve had to spend the last month and a half trying to clear the $ 3,000 medical bill they sent me. When I called to question it, I received the sassy response of, «What did you expect to pay? You don’t have insurance.» So kind. And I do have insurance, which I gave to your front desk people before the procedure. Please get your act together in the billing department.

The actual procedure was fine. Both my Doctor and Dr. Castro are excellent. However the office staff leave a bit to be desired. They called me and left a message on a I believe a Tuesday at 11:00am. I called them back and left messages on Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday morning and Thursday morning before my scheduled procedure and never got a return call which is a deplorable level of service. Upon arrival Thursday afternoon the front desk person wanted me to sign forms that i had received info I had not received so i refused. She got upset. Really? You ask me to falsify something and you cop attitude? 5 ratings for the docs, 1 star for incompetent folks who can’t return calls or give you the info they say they are giving you. Note that this facility is owned by the docs who work their. Just saying maybe its time to reinvest some of the profit the facility generates into competent front office staff.

The staff is all very friendly, responsive and relatively young. facility and equipment look to be up to date.
There’s a call before your procedure as a reminder and also to go over your insurance/​benefits so there are no surprises about cost, and then a checkup call the day after — which is nice!
It seems like a LOT of people are coming through this facility on a daily basis. There are always about 4 – 5 people in the waiting room and 1 receptionist (at least when I was there) but she was good at processing all the paperwork and keeping things moving. She didn’t call my name for ~15 minutes but she didn’t forget about me (I went up to ask just in case because alot of receptionists in clinical offices tend to always have a lot of work to do and forget!).
Going in, there are a bunch of cots and cloth dividers for walls for patients to change into their gowns and prep for the procedure. It didn’t feel crowded — busy, but not hectic. There was an appropriate amount of staff in the room and one nurse per patient. The nurses were all very friendly, knowledgeable and thorough.
Finally going into the procedure — I was walked through every step of the way and there were no surprises. Quick and easy!

Just got of the phone with a receptionist that could not have been less helpful. Records not available because of some up grade. My only option to call every one on their staff. She would not provide the information as she was busy but might give me a number or two to start. If you care about the quality of your care certainly no responsible Doctor would have such a rude & incompetent person answering the phones… unless they are cutting corners.

Everyone from the front office to the RN’s and physicians were extremely polite and knowledgeable. Dr. Cathleen Cabansag led a team consisting of an anesthesiologist, GI physicians, and RN’s and all were professional, skilled, and engaging. They were on time and respectful of my care.

If you need a colonoscopy (and all of us geezers do), this is probably as good as it gets. The staff are uniformly friendly, courteous, and solicitous of your comfort. Some of the criticisms on here seem bizarre. Yes, they are not kidding when they tell you to have someone ready to drive you home. If they did otherwise, they couldn’t get insured. As to the poster who had a scheduling mixup, common sense would tell you that this problem originated with whoever scheduled the procedure at his physician’s office, not with the facility. The staff here impressed me with their willingness to explain exactly what was happening at every step of the procedure. And with their sensitivity in getting you through a process which, let’s face it, is pretty damn embarassing.

Efficient and caring staff, comfortable environment (as much as is possible in a clinical environment.). Spotless. I had a great experience for my colonoscopy and will happily be back in 2024.

If you have to have a colonoscopy do it with dr Kevin. Man at golden gate endoscopy center. Efficient, friendly, professional. I’ve been there three times.

Terrible facility. Crowded. Poor customer service. Extremely expensive.

The staff was friendly & professional, for the most part. I’m not sure what there is to review since I spent most of the time so completely doped up that I could hardly keep my eyes open and I certainly wasn’t talking much with a tube down my throat.
One thing you need to know is that they aren’t kidding when they say you need to have a ride when you leave. They won’t even start the procedure unless they know you have one and they won’t release you if that ride is running late. If you think you’ll chill out with a milkshake across the street while you wait for a buddy, forget it.
They won’t even let you call a cab so you’ll have to get a licensed medical transport. It doesn’t matter if you feel fine, it is what it is. Luckily they found some guy for $ 45 in an old sedan who was willing to run me home so I didn’t have to call an ambulance or something and pay a Dr. Evil rate per mile. A cab would have been more appropriate but laws are laws and rules are rules. Sure, I’ve had City Car Share rides that wer swankier but the dude was cool so I have no complaints there; just surprises.
My only complaint is that I was the last appointment of the day and the staff made it clear that they couldn’t go home for the day until I did. We’re talking something like 1:30 in the afternoon here. In my addled state, I sort of felt bad for them, until I saw the $ 2750 bill for a couple hours of lab tech (not including my doctor’s bill). When I realized what I was being charged, well, screw you guys… you can sit around until I feel like crawling out of my painkiller-​induced hole and bring me all the apple juice I can suck down.
All in all, it was a pleasant stay.
Overall though, I expected less pressure to haul ass at the end of the procedure given what I was charged.

Visit was great but billing was all screwed up.
My insurance paid in full but I was sent to collection and spent an afternoon trying to sort it out. Five calls in and still struggling.

I had my Colonoscopy at GG Endoscopy yesterday and wanted to say all the staff in this facility is wonderful, they treat you with care, respect, and explain in detail every step of the procedure all the way to the end, making you feel really comfortable.
I would highly recommend the Golden Gate Endoscopy Center on Geary.

No one wants to get a colonoscopy, but if you have to get one, these people are super nice, the place is super clean and the nurses were very compassionate and caring. They thoroughly explain theh procedure from starting an IV to the anesthesia part and make it a lot less scary. thank you GG endoscopy for making my first colonoscopy a pleasant one.

I was not a patient at the Golden Gate Endoscopy Center located on 3370 Geary Blvd., below is my experience with its staff:
The front desk receptionist was friendly who gave clear instructions of the types of form, which needed to be completed before the procedure, and the reasons for them. A couple hours later, I asked if she could tell me why my husband was still not out. She took the time to go to the back room to check for me, which was much appreciated.
As for Bill, the male nurse, appeared a little annoyed when we could not make out which patient he was calling, until he said my husband’s last name. He also was impatient and told my husband they were running late, when my husband wanted to come out to give me his jacket.
After the procedure was over, I was asked if I wished to go inside to see my husband. The Chinese nurse came to us and explained what we needed to look out for, what foods to avoid for the day, etc. She was articulate and caring. She came back to us a couple more times to check if the attending physician had talked to us. She later discharged my husband (since the doctor probably did not feel the need to talk to us afterward.)
