On a busy rainy day, The Garage Master man came promptly, installed a reasonably priced modern new LiftMaster garage door opener quickly, cleanly. The service man was very polite, knowledgable and clean.
My original Garage Door company was not available to come out to us until 5 days later… We are very happy so far!

Garage Master came and fixed our garage door. It worked beautifully for two weeks. Then, the same issue they repaired started occurring again. Although they guarantee their work for 90 days, they charged us again to re-​repair what they already fixed.

These guys were quick, professional and provided a service that another company tried to sell me two brand new garage doors that would had cost over $ 6K. You great value at a fair price.

My garage door failed yesterday morning and after looking at Unilocal reviews, I selected Garage Master — both for their good reviews and proximity (I’m located in the inner Richmond). I spoke with a nice woman when I called who stated that I could get an apt with Ed in approx 2 hours — yeh! She quoted me a service call cost and after asking what I thought was the problem (broken spring), quoted the price for replacing the spring.
Ed showed up exactly on time and within 20 minutes, replaced the spring but also did a routine inspection and maintenance (lubricated parts and tightened bolts). He mentioned that my motor would eventually need replacing as the bearings (?) were beginning to wear out. He specifically recommended that I don’t replace it until it needs it, but it was great to know what the problem likely will be the next time the garage door opener fails. When he gave me the bill I was pleased to see the service call, maintenance etc was all rolled into the price of replacing the spring. Perfect experience from my perspective!

I had a 10 am appt. with Ron who called and said he could come at 9 instead. He was right on time.
My garage door kept opening on its own mysteriously. I came home and found the garage door open while I was at work. I walked in and found a burglar stealing my tools. I tried fixing it on my own and was standing outside reading the directions and the door opened again on its own. There was NO traffic that could have triggered it. 15 minutes later I was inside the garage and the door was shut and it opened on its own. I didn’t have the remotes on my or in my pocket so I knew that was not the problem. It happened even when there wasn’t traffic outside which could have triggered the door.
At first Ron explained my options and it looked likely that I would need to shell out almost 700 $ for a new motor. He patiently checked all my remotes. Then I remembered that I had kept one remote hidden outside under a plant for emergencies. He looked at that and we decided to start with seeing if the corrosion on the remote could be the problem.
I still might need a new motor but I’m still pleased with the service because Ron was so thorough and explained all my options. At first I thought the company was out to bill me unnecessarily for a new motor. But Ron was so helpful and so open to my questions and concerns that I trusted him.
He also helped me research a mechanical lock as extra security in case the door starts opening again and Garage Door Masters can’t come out immediately.
Very pleased with the service. Ron was great!

They came to take a look, fix a remote, and make the garage door higher. Gave me an assessment of replacing the garage. However wasn’t clear that they would Charge me $ 85 hence the four stars (didn’t know he would charge me for something like that or would be good to know in advance). Otherwise service was superb and on time. Guy was very nice.

Got a quote which beat a couple of competitors and we had a rather complicated garage with ductwork where ka needed to go. Within a week and a half, the job was completed and garage door is awesome! Surprise extras include switch with time and temp, manual light shut off if I don’t need the full minute, and the vinyl mail catcher riveted to the garage door so the mail doesn’t fall to the floor from mail slot –awesome!

A few weeks ago a car crashed into our garage. I called Susan at GarageMaster and within the hour, she had someone at the house, cleared the debris, and boarded up the garage. I was out of town. This was all accomplished by telephone. Two weeks later, all 3 new doors would have been installed if a car wasn’t left in the garage. Within a few days, (2 days before Xmas), Susan squeezed us in and the third door was installed. What can I say? Responsive and flexible service beyond the norm and reasonable price. I’ve been using GarageMaster for many years. This last experience convinced that I would never need to check out any other garage door specialist. Thank you, Susan and Ron. Truly appreciate your great service.

Came out same day to replace my garage motor and rotors. Initially I thought it was just going to be a free estimate and I’d have to schedule another appointment for the actual install and repairs. So I was thrilled he got everything done in one trip.
Fast service, easy to make an appointment, came on time, and now everything works great. Also gave me a lot of easy maintenance tips I can do myself. Who knew it’s good to spray the hinges once a month! I didn’t do that for years at my old place (whoops) and now I know who to call anytime I need a tune up or repair.

The chain on my garage opener came off. Call GM at 2. They came at 4. I didn’t get the guys name. He knew right away what the problem was. Fixed it in 5 min. He was very knowledgable. I’ve been using GM for years. Great ppl and excellent service.

My garage door was broken earlier today. I called, got a pro coming the same day.
On top of being extremely knowledgeable, Johnathan was extremely kind and gave me what I consider being a very reasonable quote.
30 min later, he was done. In and Out. Absolutely perfect.
I highly recommend Garage Master and Jonathan in particular.

Garage door spring broke after 16yrs of use.
Decided to give Garage Masters a call and they were able to service my garage door spring same day!
Technician arrived within 30mins, and actually had the spring in his truck! (Keep in mind they never requested manufacture and model number, I doubt the spring matters too much as they’re a common part) My technician was well mannered and very experienced in his job. Took a short ladder, his power tool, and a tool box. Very organized and got to work right away. I believe it took him about 15mins to complete the spring job and coiling up the lift wires. Tested the door, operation was smooth and perfect.
Very fast service for my first time with Garage Masters. Hopefully any future requests can be this quick.
Price, $ 195 to replace spring. I think it is a bit pricey for part AND time spent to complete it. At least it got done within 45mins of my phone call and on the same day!

We needed a new garage motor, keypad and remotes. The existing one was 13 years old and REALLY loud.
We did some research and decided on Liftmaster. I called 4 companies for quotes — Garage Master was the most competitive and could do the job the same week. They showed up on time and completed the project in just over an hour.
I am happy to report we can’t hear the garage door open now which has some cons with a teenager in the house -:)
I recommend Garage Master and would use them again.

BEWARE. COMPLETE DISASTER!
Needed old garage door repaired. First when provide they quote they said the entire door and the door opener needed to be replaced. They said the opener was a very old cheap low cost contractor special — but in reality it was a high end model only 4 years old (I know because I bought and installed it). That was red flag number one and illustrated their business ethics. But stupidly I let it slide and had them just replace the garage door not the opener (BTW the opener works just fine with the new door)
The day they come to repair the door, the installer backs his truck into by house a smashes the siding and pulls out backs up again and hits the neighbor’s house. Then gets out and is rude and has and attitude — after he smashes into my house (!!!) — I call the main office and they tell me «do not worry we will repair everything, we will have a contractor fix it up immediately and you will not have to pay for anything until all is repaired.». Six weeks later the wall wood is repaired but it is bare and unpainted, and the repair person they sent parked on the sidewalk and cracked the sidewalk also. They kept promising to «fix everything» but never did. Then they charge my credit card without authorization! I had to complete the repairs and painting on the house after six weeks and countless calls with them.
Buyer beware! There are many other garage door repair companies is the Bay Area.

Came home from work one evening and my garage door wouldn’t open. Upon closer inspection, the spring was broken. Called Garage Master the next morning at 8:30am, Edwin came by at 10am, had it fixed by 10:50am for $ 195 out the (garage) door with a 1 year warranty. Such a good job, fast, friendly, reasonable price — I tipped him. What more do you need for 5 stars?

Fast, easy service. They were at my place at 9am Friday after a call on Thursday evening. Sensor was fixed (wires had worn out), plus they reset the alignment on the sensors. I was off to work by 9:30am; fantastic.

Garage Master was contacted on 90 612 to access my garage door which was not rolling up anymore. My car was trapped and it was slowing me down from going to work.
Garage Master came as soon as the can and acknowledged my system was very old and should be replaced. They told me to think it over before making a decision whether to go forward for replacing the entire system.
Ironically, a couple of hours later the coil to the garage door snapped adding to the problem where the remote and stationary garage door switch was not working anymore.
I search around and did my homework on line and at the end it was my decision to choose Garage Master, Inc. They have the most competitive price point and more importantly the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE ever!!!
I will be a Garage Master, Inc. for life and will recommend them to everyone! They are honest and prompt as they understand the urgency to have the garage door repaired as soon as possible.

Have to say that contacted Precision Door and that individual was a disaster! Called Garage Master the night before on call because our fairly new garage door was not going up. I suspected due to the weight of the door that it was the counter balance system. Sure enough that is what John confirmed. John arrived a couple of minutes before our 9:00 A.M. appointment and by 9:17 A.M. the repairs were complete. John was courteous, respectful, efficient, and professional unlike their competitors.
The cost was 4 times less then Precision Door out of San Jose (office in SF). I would highly recommend Garage Master on anything I or my neighbors need relative to Garage Door repairs they are our only call. Thank you GM!

I have called on Garage Master on three different occasions over the past few years to replace my garage door opener, replace part of the door and most recently to replace a broken spring.
I have found them to always be dependable, reasonably priced, honest, on time for appointments with quality work.
I wouldn’t call on anyone else.
