Never again. I had to put in a stop order on my visa card after using this company. After having paid the driver including a more than fair tip, the driver simply refused to give me back my card. He studied the card for ever, and eventually my daughter came out from her house and asked me if I was ok, or if I was going to sit inside the taxi all night. I really felt that this was creepy. I hear a lot about identity theft, and I was really worried after this trip. Really scared me and made me wonder what he was up to. My card had a chip, a photo id, a social security number, account number, a card number and security code. I had no other choice but to call the bank and have them delete the card and replace the card with a new one. Really inconvenient. The driver could have just given me back my
card after I had paid. I finally got my card back without any explanation on what he had been up to with it for an eternity, non — not one word… WTF?

Never again will I get in a Flywheel taxi at the airport. Psycho driver from SFO to Noe Valley the other night in the rain. Driver kept speeding and changing lanes in a very unsafe way. We asked him to to slow down several times with no results. Meter reads $ 42 at our house. We offer him a $ 5 tip which was generous considering how scary his driving was the whole way and how rude he was the whole time. He tells us that is not enough and demands at least $ 20 for the tip! Really? We tell him no and he flips out. He then hits a button on the meter and it reads $ 47. We still give him a $ 5 tip on top of that new price since we are scared. He then will not let us out of a locked back seat and we cannot open the doors from the inside until we give him a bigger tip in cash. We get charged $ 58 on our card for a $ 42 hell ride! He threatens to take our luggage if we do not tip him more again. Absolutely terrifying! This company does not screen their drivers very well. Ours was crazy, angry and a horribly unsafe driver. Do not get in one of these cars. He drove away screaming at us from the open window after we had to wrestle our luggage from his hands.

I’ve always had good experiences with Flywheel – good drivers & the app usually works well. Every once in a while the driver’s map to my location seems to be an address or two off but they’re always within sight and I’ve seen that happen with Über as well. The best thing about Flywheel is that it’s taxis which means it’s regulated, insured properly, and ADA compliant. All that is very important to me. The best part – I’m not giving my money to tech companies that flaunt the law and ruin our city.

I love flywheel.
The drivers know the City, they get me where I want to go with safety. Sure they may cost a few $ more but their cabs are maintained, drivers have commercial insurance and they are properly vetted by the police. Finally if something goes wrong you can log on to the
site and file a complaint with the Taxi Commission of the City of SF.
Try that with Über, they will tell you tough luck (especially if you are pedestrian) that was just almost mowed down by a Über, Lyft driver who was looking at their GPS instead of where they were driving. They will tell you call the police and make a citizens arrest.
In the past 2 weeks, I have had to dodge two Ubers and a Lyft while in a well marked crosswalk. Two of them were looking around for where to drop off their passengers since they obviously didn’t know where they were.
The only Über I would consider is Über Black since they are licensed and insured like real taxi drivers.

OK I am a San Franciscan native for 45 years minus the two year vacation in Iraq and Afghan. I have been taking Desoto cab for more then 20 years and sad to say I will never ever call them again. Ever since I got out of the Army in 2014 I call Dsoto for a ride since I have a bad knee injury and had my 1^st of two surgeries its hard to get around. but every time I call them they have this clown service I never heard of pick me up. At first I said ok whatever I will give it a try. Bad move the drivers are unfriendly thy don’t talk and one night I wanted to cash my va check getting picked up in the Noe Valley going to 26^th and mission from 28^th and Noe st then to Cole hardware on 29^th and mission a ride i took many times before taking maybe 30 min ride with a $ 10. to $ 15. tip. but this night the drove and asked where I wanted to go I told him and he said oh no I cant do all that i asked why your shift is about to end witch i would have understood. he said no just got on. lol ok so you don’t want to do it and i asked well is that what your paid to do? he mumbled something making my PTSD boil putting me in combat mode witch I kept at bay. by this time we were 4 blocks away so i said well can you at least take me back home so I can call for another cab that wants to do there job and work. he said no problem because your meter is running. LOL i laughed so hard and told him you must be crazy if you think i am paying for this service taking me around my
he said get out! so i told him he was the biggest POS i know tell a injured vet to get out not even at the destination or by his house ended up at 24^th and church had to call my bro. What happened to San Francisco since I have been gone people walking around with there face stuck in the smart phones cab drivers used to care about there job and friendly I take cabs maybe twice sometimes 3 times a week but from now on YELLOW cab for me never again for Desoto or what was it flywheel those bunch of A$$ clowns.

Seeing as how I was just rear-​ended by a Flywheel cab who drove away, one star is generous. I am also five and a half months pregnant and had gotten out of the car to exchange information when he sped away, so that really added to it. Cab 499 if you’re curious.

Great service, mike was very friendly driver, very nice n smooth ride to the airport…

He was rude and disrespectful and would not let us out (3ladies) until he called everyone immature and a bunch of other negative things about women) I actually called the police afterward which I have NEVER had to do before. Stay away.

Wish could give a lower rating. Crap service with crappy and rude drivers. Hailed a cab near Fisherman’s Wharf and the driver drove dangerously, leading to several other drivers honking at him. Then, near our destination asked him to turn into a side lane and the guy did not turn rather kept going ahead saying its a ‘no stop zone’ (exactly why I asked him to turn).
Finally, I asked him to pull over in a parking spot and he said ‘get out’ and refused to take a credit card and said if ‘you want to pay by card I’ll have to drive to the next turn and stop’ (??).
Thankfully had cash and threw it at his face and got off the cab. Simply love Lyft for their awesome drivers and great service. No point riding cabs being driven by frustrated asses!
Avoid and call a Lyft!

I LOVE LOVE FLYWHEEL. I keep saying this.
The drivers are SAFE, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND CHEAPER than the other rides like U, L and S. Go ahead, put your life in peril, take those other and more expensive rides. If you do, you have more money to show off than I.

A decent app

I really enjoyed my recent taxi ride with a Flywheel driver, Dennis. There are always multiple Flywheel cars waiting at the taxi curb at SFO, and they welcome anyone. I hadn’t heard of the app before this and didn’t have the app, but payments are made easy with Square.
Dennis was warm and friendly, and we struck up a nice conversation. He got me to my destination in record time, totally smooth car ride, no confusion and a very talented and safe driver. Thanks Dennis!
tldr: I definitely plan to explore Flywheel more. Would take this service again.

Flywheel clearly does not screen their drivers and fire ones that are unprofessional and unsafe. On Saturday at 11:30am a driver tried to swerve around me and cut me off on a two lane residential street while I tried to turn into a driveway WITH my turn signal on. He almost hit my car and then proceeded to call me a bitch and several other completely inappropriate names. Not to mention incessantly honking at me for NO reason. I had my turn signal on and I was not turning illegally. Drivers license # 89551K1

I’m still a fan — I’ve used the service dozens of times with flawless service until a couple days ago. It was pretty busy, it was raining a little. So the cab that picked up my request was 11 minutes away and i could see was no where near downtown but i had offered up a guaranteed tip because without that it was too busy.
I’m following him and see he turned too soon and was a block and a half away but he marked that he had arrived. i called him and reminded him where i was. he told me he couldn’t come to get me and told me to call for another cab. then, presumably so he could avoid this being his fault he left the service open as though he was waiting for me to get into the car.
so i had to cancel the ride and was immediately charged $ 6.
I forwarded the fee email to customer support with the above and they promptly refunded my money. didn’t apologize or express any recognition of the poor service but i got my money back

This review is in regards to CUSTOMER SERVICE.
My driver put in inaccurate data at the end of my ride on 8÷18÷15. After trying to update my payment method multiple times, The app still says my card is invalid (even though my bank says everything is fine). So i can’t use Flywheel until the issue is resolved.
Flywheel refuses to employ customer service humans that will talk on the phone, So I’m stuck emailing back and forth with whoever is typing on the other end.
THIS IS A GIANT WASTE OF MY TIME !!! WHY DON“T YOU EMPLOY A COUPLE OF HUMANS THAT CAN SOLVE PROBLEMS OVER THE PHONE ???
After multiple back and forth emails, i’m still unable to use the app.

I have recently decided to use Flywheel exclusively. The drivers are prompt, courteous, licensed, professional and appropriately insured.
Thanks to Über, my bar for on-​demand taxi apps is very low. So long as the company’s drivers don’t chase my wife through the streets of San Francisco with obvious intent to intimidate my wife a la Über, they’re brilliant.
I encourage all to use Flywheel whenever possible. If Flywheel is for some very strange reason like being chased by a sociopathic Über driver, crawl to your destination over broken glass in short pants.

A driver from flywheel taxi started tailgated me during rush hour traffic. I allowed him to pass multiple times but he proceeded to change into exit only lanes, slow down, pull beside me, and intimidate me. I had to break hard at one point and he started laughing. The driver also made illegal lane changes back onto the highway after passing «right lane must exit» signs. I had my baby in the car and was scared for her safety as well as mine. So scary! To be fair, I called the company twice before writing this review. I have not received a phone call back.

Flywheel has illegally changed your tip preference from a % to a flat rate. FYI… a $ 10 taxi ride doesn’t deserve a $ 5 tip!!! Since Flywheel has bought their own taxi company they are going the route of mandatory tip fees plus a $ 1 service charge!
Deleting the app… going back to calling a cab. Don’t need another Über wannabe!
Buyer beware! Next step is notifying the regulatory agency of this fraud in advertising.

I ordered flywheel to my house yesterday to get to the ferry quickly. The guy called me a few blocks from my house and said where are you? I said I’m out front. He said out from where? I set out front of my house. He said, oh okay, sorry the gps is acting up. Loose a star for that…
During the ride I enjoyed great conversation that happened to be very religious &, very spiritual which I like sometimes
.I made it to the ferry on time, by jumping out two blocks before we reach the building and running as fast as I could… By doing so, I made it to the gate just as it was closing.
In the drivers defense there was some pop up construction occurring two blocks before we reached the ferry building and that is why I jumped out and ran like the dickens…
The cost from lower haight to the ferry building was $ 22 so they loose a star for the higher price.
Overall I like flywheel and would choose them over GUber any day of the week.

Best App Ever! Flywheel is the very best way to obtain auto transportation in San Francisco, where hailing a cab can most times prove impossible.
