FirstLine

I travel weekly to San Francisco for business. When you’re away from all your support people and networks back home, it can get stressful at times. Even more so when I get sick on the road. This is my first experience with Dr. Brian Hamway. Within two hours he was knocking on my hotel door. Solid diagnosis, called my prescriptions in, billing was effortless.
What a great experience, combined with a polite, highly attentive, responsive and helpful doctor. I am now utterly confident, now that I have a go-​to doctor in the Bay Area!

Super convenient — I was impressed that they can get a doctor over within an hour even on a Saturday night (not typically an ideal time to need medical attention.)
For a minor cooking «injury» (cut finger), definitely a much better experience than making a lengthy ER visit (I will avoid that craziness at all costs). You do pay for that convenience on the weekend/​after hours, but I think it’s worth it. Cost during the week (for a prescription refill during the day, for example) is much cheaper. Love having this as an option now.

Dr Hamway was great. Extremely thorough, and very thoughtful in his diagnoses. He was also personable and caring. Although my issue wasn’t easy to diagnose he did spend the time to think through all the possibilities.
Most impressive was the follow through. He contacted me twice during the next 24 hrs to check that I was recovering.

my darling traveled to sf on business and sadly became too sick to leave the hotel with a sky high temp. he made the best call to firstline. what peace of mind. the fact that he didn’t have to look for and sit in an ER for hours was a massive relief and more so a huge bonus since he’s still rebounding from a major hip surgery. he was very pleased and it’s a relief to know he’s in great hands. thank you.

I’m super happy with the house call service from Dr Brian Hamway today. I called FirstLine this morning and had an appointment scheduled within 2 hours. I was worried about possible infected wound on my foot (after falling and spraining both ankles a couple nights ago). Doc was professional, friendly, unhurried and highly competent. He was well-​equipped with gauze, ace bandages and even had the right antibiotics for my penicillin allergy, saving me from having to hobble to the pharmacy for the meds. Very reasonable cost. Great value esp since I didn’t have to leave the house. Will definitely use FirstLine and Dr Hamway again!

Was able to get a same day appointment with Dr. Brian Hamway. I don’t normally do reviews of any and everything but he asked and I did have what I feel was excellent service. He listened to my problems, had great «bedside» (tableside) manner. Knowledgeable, great listener and I genuinely feel that he cared and was interested in helping me to get better. I don’t have a Primary Care Physician but even if I did I would probably use these guys again for the ease of it all. I hope they look to take insurance going forward. While I can be reimbursed from my insurance, the price was reasonable for the service I got.

This was my first experience with any type of at-​home Urgent care provider but FirstLine definitely got me hooked! I called in during the holidays as I was really sick and with no friends or family around, it was tough getting to the doctor or the clinic. Dr. Brian Hamway showed up less than an hour after I set up the appointment and made me feel very comfortable. He assured me that everything will be fine and that I should be up again in no-​time (which was very re-​assuring because i was starting to over-​dramatize my condition).
I spent more time with him than I did with any other doctor in those walk-​in clinics. I did not have to deal with the transportation, filing all those forms or the waiting hassle which is fantastic when you can hardly stand for more than a few minutes and like to enjoy some VIP treatment :-). This service was not only convenient but also very personable. Dr Hamway also had the antibiotics with him which was amazing since I had no energy to go to the pharmacy. He then checked up on me later in the day then the day after to make sure i was on the road to recovery. It meant a lot since friends and family were not here to provide the moral support. I do feel much better today so Thank you for the great service! :)

It was a Sunday evening, I had been sick for about 4 days and was not getting better so I ran a search and found FirstLine. Dr Brian Hamway was at my house in about 1 hour and assured me that I was going to be ok and he would not leave until he knew what was wrong with me. He asked a ton of questions, ran some tests and had a diagnosis with 45 minutes. Not only did I feel relieved but he also had all the medication I needed to get me through a couple days until I was strong enough to go and fill the prescriptions he gave me.
FirstLine is an amazing service and definitely one I will use again. Dr. Brian Hamway was top notch and even followed up to make sure I was on the road to recovery.

After returning from a day of adventure in Tahoe, I was concerned about a burn wound on my leg. FirstLine was a great solution, and within the hour Dr Brian Hamway was at my house treating me. He asked a lot of questions and answered many of mine, and when he left I had a diagnosis and treatment needed (no infection thankfully). In addition the the great medical care, I was impressed with the kindness and concern that the doctor showed.

Unfortunately during my vacations in the U.S. I got a rupture of my Achilles’ tendon and my left foot was immobilized waiting to have surgery back to France. My travel insurance needed me to be seen by a doctor before taking my flight and they contacted Firstline.
The morning of my departure Dr. Brian H. came to visit me at the hotel. I was very impressed by his competence, professionalism and kindness. He explained exactly what I had to do and why, answered all of my questions and also called the closest pharmacy to make sure they had what I needed. He could also speak French (and Spanish)!!!
Now I’m safely back home and tomorrow will go under surgery.

This is an awesome service. I felt I had some sort of throat infection and I knew I had to see a doctor. I called FirstLine and they sent a doctor to my apartment in 45 minutes. The doctor had 2 big bags with medications and testing equipment. The doctor examined me, took a swap of my throat that he sent to the lab and started me on antibiotics right away. He even had the first few doses of the antibiotic with him so I did not need to go the pharmacy right away.

This service is amazing. I had a bad stomach ache. When I called, the phone service personnel were incredibly professional. They rushed over Dr. Davis to my apartment and I could not have asked for a more thorough, professional, pleasant experience. I recommend this service and Dr. Davis 100%

I was very sick for a number of days. Had been throwing up constantly and was extremely dehydrated. Absolutely no way I could make it to my front door, let alone my primary care doc or an urgent care, so thought I’d give this service a shot
The doctor arrived in about an hour. He immediately set up an IV, and ended up giving me two liters of fluids in total. He also injected some medications and left me a bottle of tablets (so that I wouldn’t have to go to the pharmacy to fill my prescription). He stayed almost 90 minutes, and by the time he left I was already feeling considerably better
I didn’t realize this level of service was still possible in healthcare — pretty incredible!

FirstLine was my third experience with urgent care in SF and was significantly better than my first (at golden gate on lombard). First of all, urgent care fills that huge gap between going to your family doctor for your travel vaccinations, and going to the emergency room when you break your leg. For everything else in between, I prefer urgent care centers.
But the ones in SF are pretty lacking until I found FirstLine. Urgent care is supposed to be fast and what’s more convenient than on-​demand and responses by text messaging? I also got a doctor to respond to me, unlike the other urgent care places I’ve been to where I get some random nurse taking my information for 10 minutes and then get seen by a PA (physician’s assistant). Highly recommended and I had everything covered by my insurance!

This is a pretty convenient service, it really saves a lot of time. For someone who is super busy, it just doesn’t make sense to run to the doctor whenever you get a cold/​flu.
The cost is quite reasonable and there’s even a free trial.

Really great service, very polite, and ultra professional. I was impressed that I sent a text message and got a response right away — never had that before, anywhere in the healthcare system. Normally its three weeks just for the pleasure of sitting in a waiting room!!! The app was also very easy to use. Because I had bronchitis, I was told that they would need to listen to my chest but they were able to tell me the price up front. During our session, the doc was very professional, friendly and no judgement while giving me great advise, treatment & resources to look into. Definitely will use this again and recommend highly to anyone that is sick of spending their lives in waiting rooms!

This app is so incredibly convenient. They will send someone to your house, even on the weekends, and examine you. I can’t tell you how useful that is for me, since I work 16 hour days. In the past, my options have been to wait it out, look it up on WebMD, or make a trip to the emergency room, since there aren’t any urgent care clinics in my area. Then I found FirstLine! Not only do you have the convenience of being examined in your own home… you also get to skip out on the drive, the waiting periods, and the sucky treatment. Definitely recommend it!
