I was referred here for two surgeries with Dr. Scott So(the phenom at Pacific Eye Associates) in January 2014. ESCSF is owned by doctors, and it shows. The front desk staff is efficient and very nice. Once I got out of the waiting room and into the facility, I was amazed by the level of care that I received. The nursing staff is beyond wonderful — special shoutouts to Mary, Linda, Ardis and Patricia — they really cared about me and treated me like a person and not a nameless patient. Mary was my pre-op nurse, and expertly started my IV in both surgeries without leaving a bruise afterwards. Linda provided assistance through both surgeries. Ardis and Patricia were my surgical and post-op nurses. Before the first surgery I was terrified about losing my eyesight and about the surgery itself — but after I had been with Mary and Linda a few minutes, I relaxed and knew it would be ok. When I went in for the second surgery I wasn’t worried at all. Now I’m good as new, and so grateful to Dr. So and to my fabulous ESCSF care team for taking such wonderful care of me during two surgeries. ESCSF is located next to 24 hour fitness on Post between Van Ness and Polk. There’s plenty of street parking and also a garage that’s very reasonably priced. If you have an eye condition that needs attention — go first to the doctors at Pacific Eye Associates @ 2100 Webster(Dr. So especially) and if you need surgery, be very glad that ESCSF is the facility they use. Medical treatment doesn’t come any better than that provided by Pacific Eye Associates and ESCSF, especially if your eyesight means everything to you, like it does to me.

I had never heard of the Eye Surgery Center until I required, yes you guessed it, eye surgery. As a nurse and former hospital administrator, I was curious and wondered about the facility and the care. My first exposure was the nurse who called several days before my surgery to take my history and review my pre-op instructions — pleasant and through. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the receptionist and filled out some additional forms. I was then taken back to the room that serves dual purposes — an intake and then a recovery room. The nursing staff was very professional, following all protocols to validate which eye(numerous times) including marking the skin about my surgical eye. They were courteous, professional and patient(I especially noticed that when listening to them speak to other older patients through curtains). My anesthesiologist was equally skilled, asking all the right questions and was patient and through. The rooms were spotless, quiet and a pleasant calm was present amongst the staff. Following surgery, the nursing staff monitored my vitals and then reviewed my post op orders with my partner and myself. And the next day I received a post op phone call to check in with how I was doing. Parking is convenient — in the same building. It was a great experience and I would recommend the facility and staff.
