Divisadero Union 76 Station

I’ve had them check my oil and tire pressure (yeah, I know how to do it, I just don’t want to get my hands dirty) and recently started coming here on the regular to fill up my car.
Within blocks of my home and on the way to elementary school, it’s certainly convenient.
Divis Union 76 is my new service station after the California Shell on Steiner and California closed down their service shop. I’ve stopped buying gas from them in protest of their dumb move to turn a reliable (and profitable) service bay into one large snack store.
Yeah, let’s see how that plays out with a grocery store across the street.
So I took my loyalties elsewhere; now it’s Union 76 gas for my car.

This place is usually pretty good but have a back up plan if you go in the morning because it’s usually a wreck. They are always out of coffee or cream or both. The morning guy doesn’t pay much attention and doesn’t really seem to care.

Was having some brakes issues while trying to get out out of town with a truck full of tools. I felt something was wrong but when the aroma of brake pad flambé filled the cab after coming down the Fell street hill, I had to find the nearest place that could fix it. Usually these gas station shops are staffed by grumpy dudes who are looking for any chance to overcharge you for work that may or may not need to be done. Antonio though was the complete opposite of this. He was extremely helpful, and had my truck going the next day at a very reasonable price. He made sure that someone was coming to pick me up and informed me of all the work that needed to be done and gave me an very good estimate of the price. If you have to break down, do it near this 76 Station!

The old bait and switch here! Watch out signage is misleading. Cards do not get price advertised.

Great price and great service! Went here for a smog inspection and they made the process as painless as possible. Definitely recommended.

If you like paying 2x as much and waiting 4x as long as a normal smog check, go here.
I came here for a smog check. They told me it would take 15 minutes and it ended up taking over and hour and costing $ 75. Other places nearby charge about $ 35. They couldn’t get their printer to work, and after nearly 45 minutes it turned out the USB wasn’t plugged into the printer.
I don’t mind paying more than average, but if I do I expect much better service than this.
One extra star for nice staff.

Quick same day affordable smog check service! Also conveniently located near the freeway, so I’ve frequently been getting gas here for almost a decade.

Recently had my window bashed in and a duffle bag of clothes stolen out of my car and the remaining parts of the inside ransacked. It’s an aweful feeling but a very reassuring feeling when everyone in the Buena Vista East neighborhood of SF tells to go see Adam for his bashed in window treatment so it holds you over until the repair and protects from outside elements on my way back to LA. ADAM IS THE MAN AT 76. As professional and as informative as a person could be for this type of patchwork, Adam has set himself apart in the short number of months he’s been there. If Adam can do this and make me feel better without even charging a dime, can you image what he can do with tools, parts and labor? A well worth visit. Thanks Adam!

Came it yesterday, 10÷11÷14, for a routine oil change but asked them to try to diagnose my check engine light which started coming on after I had my clutch replaced from another mechanic on McAllister Street a few weeks prior.
I spoke with Adam who was very personable and who offered to only charge me for the oil change if he could not determine what was wrong with the car. After leaving my car with Adam and letting him know he could keep my car overnight, Adam called me the next morning to let me know that the oil change had been completed and that the felt confident they knew why the check engine light was on.
When I called back later in the afternoon, Adam offered to stay at work longer so that he could meet with me and discuss their findings. When I arrived, Adam asked me a series of questions that illustrated his knowledge of cars which made me to feel confident I took my car to a reputable and trusted establishment. When I explained some of the issues I had been having with the mechanic who replaced my clutch and that said mechanic had tried four times to fix the engine light, Adam made several helpful suggestions including having a specific sensor replaced to explaining consumers rights when I expressed my concern with the mechanic who had replaced my clutch.
In the end, the 76 Station on Divisadero proved to be much more than a gas station; they were extremely customer focused and made it a point to go above and beyond to make sure I understood the issues and provided helpful advice.
I highly recommend this gas and service station for anyone looking for both basic service such as an oil changes or smog tests to more sophisticated auto needs.

I’m a bit late with this review but, want to make sure I leave it. About 7 months ago, I caught a flat tire coming into the city on my way to work. I managed to drive as far as this station on Divis before realizing I need to pull over. The asian guy (sorry I forgot his name) working here was very helpful. I pulled in around 9am, he was able to place my order in by 10 am and had my tire replaced and ready to go by noon. I also didn’t feel ripped off, the cost was comparable to anywhere else. =)

It’s a rare blessing to be able to say that I trust my mechanic. Davis has done small fixes without charging me on many occasions. He is knowledgable, professional, and genuine. Antonio is a friendly dude as well and together they are happy to assist with all of my car’s maintenance. The experience is definitely less of a headache than their chaotic competition across Divisadero.

In for a smog check, fast professional service. Same guy working here that did my last smog check few years back, always nice to see a smile, thanks Davis.

I have been to this store twice the guy speaks no English and lies about stuff I went in the store to purchase more scratch offs and the guy told me he has no money in the register so I went on and I said I would report the store clerk

when i have a car this is the only place in the city where i get gas. i’ll pay the extra .20 cents a gallon for not having to wait in line across the street at arco. plus they have outdoor speakers where you can listen ti soft rock while filling up.
