Love this place so much! Erica, Alexa and Sarah are the sweetest! I’ve been a client for about 6 months and I have to say one of the best waxing experiences I ever had.
Super cute clean space and they make you feel so comfortable and special every time. So I was always scared of the pain that comes with Brazilians but Alexa makes it super quick and easy! She uses hard wax which I think is less painful then strips, but that could just be a personal preference. plus with two locations one in Walnut Creek can’t get better then that.

It’s been how many years now? Since 2009, wow! I wouldn’t know what to do without ERIKA, she is amazing! Also she is sweet and nice.
I go to her for all my waxing needs. Brazilian are painful but she makes it quick and easy. Way less painful. And my eyebrows, she does magic. I would occasionally let her know after my appointment that my brows look amazing. hahah … She takes her time with my brows. Love it! She is very responsive if you need an appointment made. As for myself, I make my appointments 2 months out with her. She does get super busy.
Her place is super cute and clean. Great location, right on Union street, across from Crunch gym. FYI she always have candy. OVERALL, Erika is just awesome!

Erica Lee is a magician at doing eyebrows. I first met her in panic years ago day before my wedding because a local place made my eyebrows so uneven that I lost hope it can be fixed. My husband found Erica on Unilocal in 2012, and she pointed all mistakes the other lady did. Moreover, she fixed them!!! We live far from SF but I saw Erica for years and was never disappointed. She is great at her job. I can’t comment on other services but she is a waxing guru. I highly recommend her!

Erika at Dermal Essentials is the absolute best. Her waxes are impeccable, quick, and relatively painless. It does not hurt that she is a lovely person. And the store itself is very pretty and aesthetic. Plus a really reasonable price. Cannot recommend her more.

Sheila just moved over to Dermal Essentials and of course I followed her! I’ve been seeing Sheila for nearly 6 years and will continue to see her! She is the best out there for waxing. I trust no one else for my eyebrows and she makes the entire process a breeze. Everyone has had THAT experience in the back of a nail salon and let me tell you, she is nothing like that. She has a numbing spray that makes a bikini wax feel like your not losing your skin! What sets her apart is her fun personality and shining San Diego spirit. I’ve been a client of Erika’s for over 10 years and she is the BEST! I go to Erika for bikini and brow waxing as well as tinting and she always does an amazing job. She is fast yet very detailed — very important in the wax business. Also, she uses the best wax and products so it’s pain free (or almost). In the past, I’ve gone to other places and had issues like ingrown hairs — I never have those issues here and it’s because Erika is an expert!

I feel so grateful to have found Erin at Dermal Essentials! I moved to San Francisco a little over two years ago and I was nervous that I wouldn’t be able to find anyone that I could trust to wax my eyebrows. After a lot of research on Unilocal,I found Erin and she is absolutely amazing! Besides the fact that she does a great job with my brows she is so sweet and I absolutely love seeing her! My mom and sister are loyal customers as well, and even though I don’t live in the city anymore I drive from Marin to see her. I know finding a new salon can be scary, but trust me when I say that Erin will take care of you!

I think Erin should be considered the eye-​brow whisperer. She is an artist and can transform your eyebrows to a Kardashian level. She listens to what you want and then executes with precision.
I also received a make-​up application from Raquelle Lozada for an upcoming holiday party. My makeup was exactly how I wanted it, simple, glowing, not caked on and the pictures looked flawless. If you need a make up application or an eyebrow touch up/​transformation… look no further!

Erin and Chay are the best! I go to Erin for
Waxing (brows, leg, Brazilian) and Chay for my lash extensions. They both make me feel really comfortable, and I always have an amazing experience. Best wax and lashes in the marina hands down.
I went in today for my 2^nd Brazilian (the first time was somewhere else, and was less than pleasant), and Erin was such a professional. I would recommend dermal essentials to anyone! Thanks girls for making me feel beautiful before my wedding!

I got my eyebrows waxed here and I loved the results! I liked that they trimmed my eyebrow hair too (or is this normal? I never get my eyebrows waxed).
Sadly, I break out if I wax my eyebrows so waxing is not an option anymore. That’s just how it is for some people though.
If waxing is how you maintain your eyebrows then I HIGHLY suggest Derm Essentials. They are EXTREMELY CLEAN, and the employees are friendly and genuine. They were also voted «Best Eyebrows» in the bay area. The people who work here know their craft.
Another cool thing is the different waxes they have. They use rose wax for the face. It’s pink too! I’ve never seen a pink wax.

If you are looking for someone to take care of your face… come see Chay! She is new to this cute shop but I have been coming to her for quite some time now. She does such a great job shaping my eyebrows. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my eyebrows!!! Chay has also done my make up for weddings and parties. She makes you look FLAWLESS!!! I wish I can have her do my make up everyday. :-)
Not only that she is talented, she is so sweet and listens to what you want. You will not be disappointed! MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH HER! She’s the bomb!

I have been seeing Erin for several years now for brow shaping and lash tinting. She’s super nice, professional and always lets me know what she is doing so I’m not surprised — after all, she is working in a very delicate area: my eyes.
The shop is very cute and clean. Erika is always helpful on the phone or in the shop if Erin is busy. Shay (sp) was also helpful in picking out a new highlight shadow and brush, very gentle during application.

I wish I hadn’t waited so long to try electrolysis. I guess I was scared. Anne Lee does a great job. She splits her time between here and San Rafael, so be sure you know which place you’re making an appointment for.
What can I say about something that hurts so much? Anne does a great job making it hurt as little as possible and she is hygenic and careful and quick. I tried a 15 minute session, to see how bad the pain was, but the 30 minute is a better bargain, and the pain really doesn’t get any worse. I’ve done lasering, I have tattoos, this isn’t the worst pain ever, and it fades quickly. If you have light hair that can’t be lasered, if you have chin hairs that just won’t die, treat yourself to this.
I like that she’s open early so I don’t have to feed the meter.
Think about how much time you spend tweezing, shaving, worrying about random little hairs… whether you have a lot or a little this is a huge timesaver. It’s an investment in you. Now when you oversleep you still look great =)

I made a point to make an appointment with Erika when I came to town, and even ran some of my questions about aestheticians I’ve been trying in DC by Erika for her advice, since I trust her opinion. Always can count on Erika to tell it to me straight, do an excellent job, and I enjoy our conversations.

I’ve been dissatisfied with my eyebrows in the last year ever since they were massacred during a horrible threading event. No more threading — just waxing & tweezing now — but everyone I’ve gone to for maintenance has never been able to get my brows to their healthy state.
I have faith in Erin @ Dermal Essentials. Today was my first visit to see her for eyebrow waxing, and right off the bat she diagnosed my brows to be too short and too sparse, and that I would have to put my tweezers down and leave them to grow out. But in the meantime, she would make them tidy, so I’d be a little happier with their current shape.
She has a very light hand, and I appreciated that she also applied powder and gel at the end so it looked like I had full healthy brows again. This was the first time I had my brows done where I sat upright on a stool vs. lying down on a cot or bed. It was a little claustrophobic feeling because Erin was pretty much leaning on my legs while she worked. Still, the end result was great. She only charged me $ 20 (I think the normal rate is $ 25), and she offered me water and cookies! I was also given a packet of hydrocortisone cream to apply to my skin to calm any irritation and prevent breakouts — since I do have sensitive skin, and I always am a little pink in the areas of my face that are waxed.
I noticed there were soaps and jewelry for sale too, but I didn’t have time to stay and browse. I’ll be sure to do so on my next visit.
NOTE: I’ve never been to their old location, but they are now at 1738 Union Street. It’s a very charming space… like visiting someone’s bright and airy studio. There are a TON of other waxing businesses within blocks of each other (ie. Bare by Tru, Stript, Flourish) — but I definitely recommend trying Erin for your waxing needs — she passed muster with my eyebrows!

When a guy decides it’s time to get the wax on, he needs a group of people who will be understanding, who will comfort him when he’s anxious and nervous, who will smile and tell him «it’s all good, Erin rocks the mike and she’s gonna take good care of you.»
The girls at Dermal were definitely what the doctor ordered. They were bubbling with warm, positive vibes, they were very cute (which is always a plus) and they were having a great time. I’ve been to waxing salons that feel like a funeral was set to get down, but this place was not like that at all. They made me feel at home and that was a HUGE plus.
Erin is great from start to finish. We e-​mailed back n forth a few times as I was apprehensive to take the plunge and she helped tame the anxiety centered around an operation like this one. She treated me like I was headed for my first day of kindergarten. Very gentle, she gave me her shoulder to cry on when the separation anxiety set in b/​c my back sweater and I had never been apart in my 33 years. And wouldn’t you know it? All the fears of how painful this would be were all in my head. It wasn’t painful at all, it was actually pretty cool, but maybe that had more to do with the adrenaline rush.
I had a 5 star experience at Dermal and I would definitely come back for me.
Four or five days after the waxing, I became a proactiv candidate. My entire back was one giant disgusting mess! I am willing to take the George Costanza «it’s not you, it’s me» routine here, but guys, I would ask a lot of questions about the wax, possible reactions and double dipping, b/​c it’s been a month and my back is still a complete disaster!
