Debora Silverman is a nationally certified and California Licensed Acupuncturist and Oriental Medicine Practioner. She received a Master’s of Science and a Master’s of Traditional Chinese Medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

As a wellness provider she is passionate about helping people achieve better health. Her treatments combine acupuncture, massage, moxibustion, herbal, and dietary approaches. She believes that with proper diagnosis, treatment and a cooperative relationship between the practioner and patient, it is possible to achieve optimal health.

Debora is AMAZING!
My mother was suffering from numerous issues– allergies in the form of a persistent post-​nasal drip and coughing fits that kept her up at night– that would not go away despite all the medications that she had tried, both off the counter and prescription medication. I took her to see Debora, whom I firmly believe is a true miracle worker! Just after the first session of acupuncture with Debora, my mother had felt noticeably better, and after 5 sessions over the course of 2 weeks, her cough has dissipated practically completely and she can now sleep soundly without any sleeping aids. Debora also performed facial rejuvenation magic on my mother as well, and I can definitely say that my mother cheeks look more plump and there is less sagging around her lower jawline. In summary, my mother feels wonderful, healthy and beautiful, inside and out, and it’s all thanks to Debora!

For two weeks I was bedridden with endless migraines. Desperate for a solution to the pain, I called Debora to see if she could help as western medicine (drugs) were not working. Debora scheduled me in immediately and even offered up some advice to relieve the pain until I could see her later that day.
To be honest, I was hesitant to believe it would work but desperate times call for desperate measures (needles and hot cups on my back). Luckily for me, it completely worked! My migraines went away after our first visit and haven’t come back. Debora is extremely informative and truly cares about your well being. I would recommend her to all family and friends.

I went to see Debora for an Acupuncture facial rejuvenation session. She put needles on my face and on my body. I felt very comfortable. I have had acupuncture before, but her technique in inserting the needles is very gentle and I did not feel them. She is also reassuring and very interested in your total well being, meaning: body, mind and spirit.
After the session I went home and that same evening my boyfriend told me that I was radiant and glowing. The most amazing thing is that the next day, and for several days after, not only my face looked great, but on the inside I felt elegant, peaceful and loving. I remember thinking that I felt like a princess. I guess, this is how it feels to be balanced! I am going back next week for a series of treatments. I am really happy I found her.

Hands down the best acupuncturist and healer I’ve ever worked with. Debora looks at your health holistically and analyzes the various points in your body that treat the symptoms. She offers advice on nutrition, supplements, organic foods even the spiritual aspects of your health. She is generous with her knowledge, and offers guidance and support on alternative health options. Every time I leave there I feel I have more tools and tips make better decisions. She has also referred me to other healers (massage therapists, etc) that I incorporate in my régime. SF is lucky to have her.

Dr. Silverman is a miracle worker, and an all around spectacular person. I started seeing Dr. Silverman over a year ago to help treat a variety of symptoms. Her calm and genuine demeanor were an initial attraction for me, and then the dedication and in depth nature of her knowledge and treatments sealed the deal. Dr. Silverman is an integral part of my well being, and she has helped me through a lot — most recently, through fertility issues and IVF. Dr. Silverman has always been available to discuss any issue and almost any hour. She is unbelievably responsive and accommodating. A few of the things she has done for me — see me at a moment’s notice to help reverse a bad flu bug; cleared time in her schedule to see me at VERY specific times around my IVF procedures; responded almost immediately to emails /​texts with recommended pressure points to help with nausea, breathing issues, etc. Dr. Silverman takes the time to understand the root cause of an issue — I have never felt rushed. She is comprehensive in her analysis and treatment. She has made a dramatic impact on my life and overall well-​being. I can’t recommend Dr. Silverman enough. One of the best doctors I have worked with.

Love love love Debora, I have had facial acupuncture before & Debora is superior. She treats my whole self & often I drag myself in a hot mess. I always leave feeling & looking better, less stressed, calmer & clearer. It is helping my face look more youthful (relaxed) & keeping me from running to other options that I am trying to avoid Botox overdose is not what I wanting I just want to looker fresher. Debra is the best acupuncturist I’ve used. She’s attentive, careful, clean, friendly, upbeat and good at what she does. I’ve never felt rushed and she always addresses every issue carefully. And, I always leave feeling better. Her office is very pleasant, light and airy, but she’s so efficient with her scheduling that I rarely see anyone else. In addition to her professionalism, she’s got a lovely sense of humor and also dresses nicely … unlike most of the other people I’ve used. I highly recommend her.

After a month’s stay in San Francisco and regular weekly treatments with Debora I am back home in Turkey. I have received so many compliments from my friends and family. They think I have secretly had an operation or had BOTOX done during my stay in San Francisco. My secret is Debora’s treatments and facial accupuncture. Debora is a true healer. Over the last few years, I’ve endured severe migraines and to much of my dismay, many of the conventional doctors that I’ve visited in the past were unable to put any label on it; therefore, most believed that I must’ve been making it all up. Yup, frustrating. So naturally, I was sent home to contend with the dizzying headaches on my own without any thought or idea on how to combat this pain.
After doing some research, I found Debora at Body Mind Spirit and I have been so grateful ever since. The acupuncture sessions were not painful. The needles can be intimidating at first, but keep in mind that the needles are very thin. Debora plays soothing music in the background so you’re actually concentrating on the pretty sounding melodies rather than concentrating on the fact that you look like Pinhead from Hellraiser with all the needles pricked into your face.
Along with acupuncture, Debora implements moxabustion. I thought this was really cool.
Cupping is also another healing method that Debora uses and I’ve actually really enjoyed this one. She places several little cups on your back, all the while creating suction from them with fire. As a result, your back has these jumbo sized alien hickies all throughout, but boy, do you feel great afterwards! The marks do disappear in less than a week.
After a few sessions, I no longer found myself going day to day having to deal with the usual stubborn headaches. Acupuncture definitely helped. I’m so glad I found Debora.
I’ll be back for maintenance!

I’ve never written a Unilocal review. My girlfriend gave me a gift certificate to visit Debora. Her presence is as other reviewers have noted. The acupuncture was amazing. No pain and the needles were applied very quickly and carefully. An hour and some change passed in what felt like 10 minutes. My shoulders relaxed, the tension from my face was lifted. It’s difficult to find the right words without sounding like a new age vegan yoga practitioner but the truth is I really felt revitalized, rejuvenated, and centered.
The cupping experience was also quite interesting. The cups seemed to pull my back and spine into alignment almost instantly. The design left by the cups is neat as well. It’s funny because the bruises look painful but don’t hurt at all.

I feel like a convert or something. I’ve told my friends and some of them give me the same eye rolls I probably would have in the past. I assure them that I will not become one of those people who only drinks tea and uses the word «namaste». Try it!

I’ve been getting a lot of acupuncture for years, and Debora really is as good as I’ve gotten. She first was my acupuncturist when I was a hospice volunteer at Zen Hospice, and she was a student at American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. I was getting over a bout of Bell’s Palsy, and I still had some paralysis on the left side of my face, which has now gone away.
Part of what makes her great is not just her skill, but her personality. She’s always in a great mood, and quickly tunes in to whatever issue I might be treating with acupuncture. She has a compassionate personality and it’s easy to forget that she’s an acupuncturist, not a psychotherapist. She’s gentle and intuitive, and every time I’ve been to see her, I’ve left totally blissed out.

It’s a busy, anxious, exhilarating, active lifestyle that many of us choose to live today. Acupuncture began as something to relieve muscular injuries from yoga and running. A few years ago it became an all over mind body balancing treatment for me.
I realize the incredible healing, without western meds, when after a treatment I suddenly re-​connect my mind and body. The combination of treatment and herbs has a stabilizing effect on my my mental capacity and day to day functions. There is some shift that happens, allowing all of life’s obstacles to remain, while I continue to persevere without their hinderance.
Debora has been the most educating, compassionate, and comprehensive healer/​clinician I have seen in the past 12 years!

I had a computer injury (tennis elbow) earlier this year. I initially tried acupuncture with someone I wont name. It didnt work out but I’m not sure he was concentrated on the right areas. The pain was intolerable and decided I would let western medicine help me… cortisone shot from Kaiser. Didnt work and pain was back after 3 weeks.
I found Deborah on Unilocal and decided to give acupuncture another chance. After only 2 appts, my elbow was 95% better. After proper stretching and being conscious of my injury I only have to visit Deborah every 3 – 4 weeks.
Deborah really knows how to heal beyond her practice. She can advise you on herbs and diet. She is very intuitive and caring. I am so happy to have found her and highly recommend her services

Thanks to Unilocal I came across Body Mind Spirit. I had no idea what to expect especially since I discovered this place on the internet. During the first consolation I felt as though Debora and I instantly connected.
I saw results after my first visit. I’d been using topical steroids for my psoriases for two years and stopped the day I went in. It’s incredible how quickly my skin calmed down.

Being a huge skeptic, I went anyway with an open mind with a bunch of friends. The site is very cool, calming, and littered with cool products to try out.
I told Debora I had some minor back problems, suffer from some stress, and have thinning hair! She told me to relax, calmed me down, and went to work.
About an hour or so later, I came out feeling like a million bucks! My back pains went away that night, I was suuuuper relaxed the rest of the day… my hair is still thinning, but I wasn’t expecting miracles. Regardless, I went in with very little hopes, and came out utterly amazed at how much more my body felt at peace. And yes, I will be going back again. Highly recommended. Thanks Debora!
