Daniel Davidson, DMD

I came to San Francisco in 1999 and found an online review of Dr. Davidson. He has been my dentist ever since. I no longer live in SF but I won’t go elsewhere. Dr. Davidson and his crew are extremely competent and take a lot of pride in their work. You are in good hands with this office.

In 2010 I fell off my bike and broke my front tooth in half. I went to dr. Davidson the very next day and he built up my tooth using a plastic bonding material. Within an hour I went from looking like a crazy snaggle tooth, back to my regular self. The procedure was described as a temporary solution that would probably last about 6 months, at which point the plastic bonding would chip off at some point. However, five (almost six) years later, the work that Dr. Davidson did is intact as feels as sturdy as ever if not more so. Thank you for such high quality work, Dr. You took a difficult experience and helped make it as good as it could be. Your work is very high quality!

I’m always impressed with Dr. Davidson and his staff. They do incredible work and are entirely professional. I haven’t lived in the Bay Area for years but still get my dental appointments here. Dr. Davidson’s credentials speak for themselves and the DA’s and hygienists are skilled and meticulous. They’ve fixed my smile on more than one occasion and I can’t say enough good things about this office.

Dr. Davidson is an outstanding dentist who is grounded in solid quality care. His recognition within the dental community is well-​deserved. I have been his patient for decades and throughout the years, I have been amazed at the consistency with which he maintains a personable and professional staff that offers excellent frontline service in a sterile yet pleasant environment. Not once has Dr. Davidson nor his staff given in to that all to common pressured sales-​y thing other «swanky» dentists do to profit off of unnecessary products and services. I recommend Dr. Davidson and his staff without hesitation. I guess I should add that I get complimented on my pearly whites on almost a daily basis… and have zero cavities.

Best dentist ever!

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review about Dr. D. before! Like lots of other posters, I have been going to Dr. D for Years. I mean like since the late 70’s. He is absolutely the best. He knows me well and I am so comfortable with him. I started taking my kids when they were little and he and his staff treated them so well, they have no fear of going to the dentist. On a couple of occasions when emergencies arise he has been able to fit me (or my kids) in on extremely short notice. I will also repeat what everyone else has said — his staff is professional and extremely nice. AND he does Saturday appointments. He did get the digital x-​ray and he usually does have the latest and greatest in technology and equipment. My only fear is he’ll retire before I die and then where will I go?

I’ve been seeing Dr. D and the rest of his great staff for a long time. I think it’s been over 20 years. I don’t recall ever having a dentist that was such a perfectionist, and I get all the benefits from it. I’ve had major ups and downs with my dental health, but the great folks in this office have always been warm, welcoming, and wanting to help.
I found Dr. D’s office through a friends referral, and I’ve since recommended him and his office to anyone who asks.
I can’t imagine going to any other dentist.

Top notch office. The hygienist are super nice and everyone is as professional as they get. Very conscientious about using gloves and masks and the office is spotless.
Dr. D is very knowledgeable, compassionate and does only what is medically needed. I’ve had experiences with other dentist who try to push new fillings, deeps cleanings, etc just so they can bill more. Dr. D is willing to listen to your concerns and give you the best care.
I recommend all my friends to his office if they ask.

I Just had my teeth cleaned and an initial appt. The hygenist was wonderful, my teeth feel so good, they are so thorough there! I went to Dr. Davidson as a kid, then moved away for college and have never found such good care since. Glad to be back in SF and definitely sticking with them :)

My first review Woo Hoo! Dr. Davidson is great! In the five years that I’ve been in the bay area I’ve bounced around between several different dentists but for each, I just couldn’t bite the bullet, so to speak. That being said, I’m sticking with Dr. D for good. First thing he sat me down to explain his philosophy care and really made me feel comfortable. His hygienists and front desk were warm, helpful, and welcoming. He also mentioned he had a son my age… yum.

I’ve had Dr. Davidson as my dentist since I was 6 years old and that was 30+ years ago. My parents tried to switch me to another dentist when we moved to Fremont but I ended right back where I started and even though we live in Hayward my husband and kids still see him. I’ve never had a fear of seeing the dentist (I think one time I even fell asleep as my teeth were being cleaned), and my kids even look forward to going, which says a lot about the friendliness and quality of care they give. The only minor thing is you really do have to book your cleaning appointments well ahead of time as they fill up quickly, but the office staff is very helpful in trying to find something that works.
I love how they have made the first visits for my kids very non-​threatening and really tell them what’s going on — you don’t need a special children’s dental office with toys in the waiting room to make it a good place for kids. I highly recommend him for people of all ages.

Dr. Davidson take detailed care of each of his patients. I feel like I am in better hands than I have ever been. He is very thorough and has addressed dental problems I have had that nobody has ever known was to do about. I would highly recommend visiting Dr. Davidson.

I’ve been seeing Dr. D for about 8 months, and have been extremely happy with his professionalism and quality of care. I echo others’ comments — at our first appointment, he took the time to sit down with me and explain the details of teeth & gums, the medical thinking behind brushing & flossing, etc — very helpful.
He did a very thorough first appointment, with a focus on preventative care. He took gum measurements around my mouth (I’ve never had a dentist who did that before), which led him to realize I had some slight gum detachment — he referred me to a periodontist (Dr. Garry Rayant) in order to get it checked out (I’ve also had a great experience with him). Dr. D also discovered a very small divot in one of my teeth that had gone unnoticed for decades — we promptly set up a follow-​up appointment to get it filled lest it become a site for decay years down the road.
His staff are warm and cheerful, and his hygienists have done a great job — they seem to clean very thoroughly, and take the time to answer my questions and explain what they’re doing.
The only suggestion I have for Dr. D is that he needs to get a digital x-​ray system. When he referred me to the periodontist, he only had hard copies of my x-​rays, so they needed to be physically mailed. However, there was a mix-​up that caused the x-​rays never to be sent — this made for a several-​week delay and meant that I had to go to the periodontist twice just to have my initial consultation. If Dr. D had digital x-​rays, he could have emailed them to the periodontist in 30 seconds, saving me a couple weeks of waiting and an extra trip to the periodontist.

My Dad, Uncle, Grandmother and Boyfriend have all been or were happy patients of Dr. Davidson. His professionalism as well as his staff’s professionalism is something to be noted. At your first visit Dr. Davidson will sit down with you and explain the make-​up of your teeth and more. Everything is done in a timely manner. I had two wisdom teeth pulled, it could have not gone smoother. I felt recovered the next day. I recommend his office to all friends.

Dr. Davidson is unbelievably thorough and good at what he does. The staff that supports him are efficient and friendly. I can’t give him a higher recommendation unless he was closer to where I live. Luckily it’s easy to park on the side streets near his office!

This place is simply AMAZING. I have been coming here since I was four; and like all human beings, I was born with an innate fear of needles and drills. However, I have grown to completely love and trust Dr. D. Not only has he never made a «mistake» on me, but he is extremely attentive to my needs– from big things, like my request to not use nitrous gas (it made me nauseous)– to littler things, like tolerating me holding his hand a little too hard when getting injections.
The rest of the staff is also extremely nice and love to gossip. Extra bonus: they still let me have kiddy «prizes» even though I’m 22 (they get a real kick out of me tooling through bouncy balls, oversized plastic jewel rings, and wind up cars).
Another plus: they really focus on preventative care, which means less $ in the long run!
