Had a PT appt. therapist was 40 minutes late and said she wrote down the wrong time. The whole experience was clinical and cold. Felt like a cog in a machine. Went twice and quit. Shoulder was worse and the exercises hurt my back. Not going back.

Amazing staff! Everyone was friendly and helpful. I had excellent care. LGBTQ friendly, which isn’t always the case in medical settings.

I went to the emergency room at CPMC Davies after developing an itchy rash. After being seen by Dr. Ching, he said he could not a rash.
He offered to write a prescription for hydrocortizone. I asked if I could get the same without a prescription, and he said yes. I walked out.
While I live close to Davies, I would go almost anywhere else.
Another problem is the emergency room sign in process. You are required to state in front of all people in the emergency that you «have an itchy rash» (insert your own illness here).

Dr. Schaaf and her wonderful staff of CSRs, nurses, medical technicians, and hospital staff took care of my ailments in a timely manner on the night of 01/​08/​2016. Coming from a background of medicine, wait time was adequate for an outpatient! Although the visit was expensive, parking truly was worse ($ 15 dollars for literally having my vehicle in an empty lot… in a hospital… an emergency hospital… a place of basic needs… where I was a patient… for potential life or death…#SutterHealth) Thank you all again for being so wonderful, it was great to see a lively hospital up until the rush of patients came in and then I remembered why I changed career paths. Keep up the good work!

I’m giving this rating for the staff of the hospital not the doctors. The wait times in the ER were not bad but once I was admitted to the hospital things completely changed. You have to be your own advocate here. I had to constantly remind the nurses of medications, dressing changes and bed changes. The food is subpar and it’s rare to get a private room.
The Dr’s bedside manner was awesome. Made time to stop by multiple times a day. Got on the nurses about their lack of attention (they didn’t care) and really did a great job with me and my family. I will continue to see this specialist but if I’m admitted again I will request another CPMC hospital.

I was transferred to this hospital from another CPMC from California street. I stayed here for approximately 3 days here but during these 3 days, they moved me from floor to floor, room to room like 3 frigging times. I was extremely sick with kidney infection and I got really depressed. This hospital is so small that they only have one private room on the 3^rd floor. They moved me from that room to another room with a roommate. WTF! I’m sick, I need rest. What if that roommate was noisy? How the fuck can I rest? Omg! The nurses are nice and I like them. Just the whole room situation made it unpleasant for me to stay. Never ever going to this hospital ever again. I rather go to another CPMC with plenty of individual rooms. I paid for the services so I think I should at least got my own room.

IF YOU WANT QUALITY CARE DO NOT GO HERE!!! I have never received poorer care in my life and I’ve been in a hospital several times. I can’t even itemize all the mistakes and inconsistencies, but I will give you the highlights below. Overall, just trust me, don’t go here! Worst experience of my life!!! I wish I could give them ZERO stars.
I went to their emergency room on a Thurs. at 2 AM with severe abdominal pain. They gave me a CAT scan (said contrast wasn’t necessary) and said it wasn’t my appendix but an intestinal blockage. They brought me upstairs and no one knew why I was there and that I just needed an enema. One guy tried to give me a scope up my nose. I must have asked at least 5 times if they even knew my name. I had to wait hours for another doc to look at my scans and say oh yea it’s a blockage, give her an enema since the first doc forgot to tell anyone why I was coming up. All of this knowing that I had never been constipated in my entire life. 3 docs assured me I was definitely impacted. They made me wait for the GI doc which took almost 24 hours. He asked me a few questions (did not look at my scans) and said it was an ovarian cyst and to get a GYN. I when into a panic attack. Maybe it was all the pain meds, maybe its because they didn’t know their ass from a hole in the ground, but I begged him to at least look at my scan before leaving. He did and said there is a totally normal amount of stool in my colon and that he can’t see clearly (because some genius decided I didn’t need contrast for my CT scan), but it sounds like an ovarian cyst burst. Then they kept me another night (still with no food or water) just to wait for Dr. Yee to mosey back in just to tell me that the 4^th doctor was «probably» right and I should see a GYN. I told them I was not comfortable with «probably» since only 1 out of 4 docs came to this conclusion and I wanted an ultrasound. Dr. Yee told me they didn’t have one available on the weekends and to just go to a GYN. Then the nurse comes into say, «oh yea of course we have an ultrasound.» When she went to tell him, she came back saying that I wasn’t urgent any longer and that I should go to a GYN. VIRTUALLY EVER SINGLE PERSON THAT CAME IN MY ROOM MESSED UP IN SOME WAY SHAPE OR FORM. One girl took my vital signs and my temp was 36 in celsius. I asked what that would be in fahrenheit, so she doubled it and said I was 68 DEGREES!!! Not only is the conversion not just doubling the number but 2X36 is 72 not 68!!! And I would be DEAD AT THAT TEMP! These people are total morons. I was starved, pumped full of enemas (3 of them) that I didn’t need and was never tested for anything that wasn’t just speculation!!! I could have received better care from monkeys at the circus. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF. GO ELSEWHERE!!!

Super convenient for anyone living in the castro, lower haight, or triangle vicinity. CPMC is part of Sutter Health, which makes it really easy to manage your healthcare. I’ve had great experiences with the staff and look forward to their treatments when I need assistance.

I was overcharged by $ 330. I had surgery April 7. It is now June 29^th and I still have not been refunded the money. Each week they tell me to call back to check on the status of the refund and yet each week their is no update. I have been in contact with Katherine in billing who has not been helpful at all with resolving the issue. They have very poor customer service. Make sure you watch your bill.

I had an appointment scheduled for 9:20am in Occupational health clinic and sat in the waiting room for an hour before I checked with the receptionist who told me my appointment wasn’t until 10:20am. The office manager acted like I made the mistake. I called the day before to schedule the appointment and was given a 9:20am appointment. Poor reception services. I would not come back.

I can not believe how I was treated when I arrived for surgery. I spent about twenty minutes getting yelled at, shamed, and humiliated by a woman in admissions. They demanded I pay $ 58,000 right then and refused to let me speak when I tried to explain insurance approved my necessary surgery. The woman continued yelling over me. Fearing for my safety I got up and walked out of the room to call my surgeon’s office directly. I was chased by the woman and she refused to stop making a scene.
I’m recovering from surgery, but I don’t know f I’ll ever recover from my experience during admissions. It has been years since I’ve feared for my safety like that and felt threatened. I can’t stop crying when I think about the treatment I received.
Thankfully, my surgeon and the staff who took care of me during my surgery were wonderful and tried to solve the issue with admissions.
I still have not received a phone call from the hospital administration to explain to me what happened or apologize.

If you are ever at CPMC Davies Campus you need to go to the South building B floor to try their cafeteria. I know you are probably thinking this review is crazy but their Salmon is delicious! I got the Salmon with added Lemon Caper sauce and wild rice. It was retuarant quality but only cost $ 5.71. I don’t expect this to become a destination place to take friends but if you are there anyways… try it out.

There is always a rotten apple to spoil a batch and her name is Weena, who does not care if a patient can’t sleep or think that chatting with her colleages is more important than helping patients… And she’s not alone.
Unfortunately, there are not enough nurses who care, like Katheline. Kudos to Katheline.
For the others, meah…

After several cancer surgeries this year. I have spent quite a few nights there. And I have found that unless you have a good nurse, you will have to self advocate — for food, for clean sheets, for fresh water, for pain meds given on time, etc. etc.

Highly recommended.
The MRI technician (Mark.?) this morning was a great guy. Very professional. MRI’s aren’t a whole lot of fun but he made the process smooth, and took time to chat at the end.

I had a few surgeries here and so far, it’s been a pretty good experience. They treated me well with kindness and compassion.
I was shocked at how good the quality of the food. I took a pic and all my friends were like what? That’s hospital food? I’m getting admitted for nothing, LOL!

I had an excellent life savings experience at CPMC Davies campus. I went to er after going to another hospital where I was misdiagnosed. I was seen immediately due to my symptoms rather than waiting on a line. The er doc was excellent. He worked swiftly to figure out what was wrong with me which turned out to be life threatening pulmonary embolism. As soon as the diagnosis was made he began treatment. I’d say this all happened within 30 minutes. I was admitted to the hospital and stayed for six days. I had an excellent doctor and was very impressed with 90 percent of the many nurses who cared for me. The food was excellent along with the general ambience of the whole place. My only complaint is that care over the weekend was minimal. I didn’t see a doctor for two days.

In an out with 5 stitches in under an hour. Fantastic friendly docs, nurses, and staff.

Their clinical staff is fine, the only reason CPMC isn’t getting one star is for them. This gripe is more in regards to payment mechanisms.
First off, three different pay centers «sent» me bills. Sent is in quotes, as I only received one of these on paper, the others I received phone calls when they went to the collections agency. I then had to send each of them my insurance information, which was not collected when I was in the ER by the clerk. They didn’t communicate with each other, and evidently still are not doing so. I think I have finally gotten all services rendered paid for by my insurance company and myself today ¹¹⁄₂₁ after a March 21^st ER visit, as I didn’t receive paper bills and phone calls were haphazardly returned. And I did say «think» as someone may call me asking for another payment for something from that night.

The paramedics brought my husband there after he collapsed (49 years old).
I was very concerned because he had a stroke a year before.
When we came into the ER the doctor asked, «so what’s the story with him?» I was shocked at the unprofessionalism and insensitivity. I usually go to St. Luke’s which has always provided excellent care but the paramedics brought him there. The doctor took the situation very lightly did an EKG and blood work?
Everyone other then our nurse seemed to have been annoyed that we disturbed their quiet evening.
There was a senior citizen on a bed with a sheet and nobody asked her if she needed anything the whole 3 hours we were there? Sad–
The doctor (female) was lacking compassion and interest and was quite arrogant. Maybe because she was young and had not developed a bedside manner?
The intake person was questioning me over and over again about whether my husband had been drinking or doing drugs? I told him 3 times he does not drink or do drugs he has a stroke history–
Do not go to this emergency room, drive further and get better care for you and your loved ones.

I know it really really really good place.
But I just went for my grandma — but that was for me a worst experience ever.
The duty is not I thought —-actually I love it but I have nothing to do.
That wasn’t properly done treatment and —-just good and enough.

The Emergency Dept. is most definitely «as good as it gets.» My wife developed an infection in a suture done on her hand in Los Angeles and, last Sunday, I took her in to the ER at CPMC Davies Campus. She is most definitely one of those with extreme apprehension about medical matters and will minimize any problem she has just to not have to see the doctor, much less an emergency room. I can’t begin to describe the courtesy and attention extended to us. From the first telephone contact with Steve, to the nurse, Anna, and the attendants (whose names I should have taken), everybody was extremely pleasant and professional. At the top of the team was Dr. Leif Ericsson, a doctor who was sensitive and caring to the nervousness and fears of my wife. I consider this facility «top notch» and I will recommend it to anyone who asks and needs an emergency room in San Francisco.

Emergency Room Visit
Arrived at 10:10pm, seen at 10:20 and treated and released by 10:50. Had a friendly nurse check vitals and a friendly doc take a look at my injured hand. They treated me extremely well, asked the right questions and dressed my injury quickly. Nothing bad to say, all of the staff were native English speakers which may sound rude, but in medicine, poor communication can have serious consequences. Being able to explain my injury and the treatment I have received thus far to the staff expedited my treatment.
I would recommend this place for anything that needs quick attention

Do not walk. RUN away from this place at all costs! My mother was transferred to the Skilled Nursing Facility at the Davies Campus after surgery at the Pacific Campus earlier this year and I have to say that this was the worst place she has been in and trust me. This year alone she has had 5 hospital stays and 3 skilled nursing stays– we are experienced when we talk about this. Thankfully, the two subsequent skilled nursing facilities were miles better!
The call button is a JOKE– you could be dying or have fallen down and they wouldn’t know for at least 20 minutes. More times than not, my mother would be sitting in her feces for 20+ minutes because they didn’t come when she called to bring her the bed pan or help transfer her to the potty chair. We had to (several times) demand help at the nurses station and give them hell.
We really didn’t get good results from this place until I did some networking on facebook and found that a friend from High School had a cousin who worked at that facility and she began to check in on my mom and let the nurses know that this was her «Aunt” — amazing how the service changed at that point.
She also contracted the C-​diff infection here– which from what I’ve researched is common to contract at nursing homes, skilled nursing facilities and the like. It is also common for people on long term antibiotics to contract the infection; however, they suspected it for 3 days before actually confirming and then isolating her in the room since it is highly contagious. I honestly think they delayed diagnosis in the hopes that it wasn’t that because it seems that Medicare doesn’t pay for a patients stay if they contract C-​diff while there– that becomes the hospitals bill.
We were very happy when mom was released from this place, although she was really not ready to be released– she had been there as long as Medicare would see fit and «the system» kicked her out and she came to stay with us at our house.
I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to this facility… well maybe I would. ;)

A family member of mine at a stroke last year.
We were sent to CPMC-​Davies for in-​patient rehabilitation for about one month. The rehab was innovative & progressively worked. And the hospital was surprisingly comfortable for visiting friends & family. (Aside from the family emergency, I actually «miss» living there.)
They have AWESOME therapists there! They are professional, patient, knowledgeable, clean, helpful … A bit under-​staffed at times, but all in all: GOOD people.
We felt SO comfortable at Davies, that we now go there for out-​patient rehab! The therapy is DEFINITELY working & we couldn’t be happier. (I am personally ASTONISHED by the results, thus far.) The out-​patient therapists are different folks than the in-​patient therapists, but they do work together behind the scenes to maximize each patient’s therapy.
The only downside: day-​time parking SUCKS! SFMTA meter-​maids are parked outside the hospital almost ²⁴⁄₇. (Cruel, greedy & heartless on SF’s part, in my opinion.)
ps: CPMC-​PACIFIC is a life-​saving hospital & GOD bless them for that. I will always be thankful for their help. But the staff there is COMPLETELY ingenious to the families of the patients. And this is because (& I quote) «their #1 priority is to save the lives of the patients.» And their correct 100% … But CPMC-​Davies’ «customer service» is LIGHT-​YEARS ahead of CPMC-​Pacific. (So, w/​o any names involved: no further comments on CPMC-​Pacific.)

So for the last few weeks I have been feeling awful, just plain awful. After completely loosing my voice and not being able to stay awake for days my dahhhlingk friend offered to take me to a ER.
A regular patient of UCSF, I called and was told the wait time would be at least 3 hours. Not feeling that at all. A friend suggested the CPMC Davies ER and off we went.
After a short, (under 30 minute wait) I was in a room an getting examined. THe staff was so friendly and helpful, I am a fan for sure.
Turned out I have had pneumonia and needed to come in quite some time ago, but it is what it is, and I am just thankful I got the attention I needed in a speedy manner.
Way to go CPMC, you get an A+ in my book any day :)
