I would just like to start off by saying I would have given a 5 star rating if I hadn’t had some trouble with color consistency, but my overall experience was wonderful. I came in to print my graduate portfolio and had very very high standards and specific needs (size, color, cropping, paper weight) and these were all met. I got four sets of prints overall and they were all completed in a very timely matter, at a reasonable price, and with great communication between Dylan (head printer? If that’s a job title). The only problem I had was that my second set of prints was substantially more yellow than the first and since they were all going to be combined into the same book I was unhappy with how it looked. Upon expressing this to Dylan he offered to fix it and the correction came out beautifully. I would 100% come back here for any of my printing needs. Great customer service and a great product, what more can you ask for?

Great customer service. Color is a little dark and taking the time to calibrate is too much so make sure that your images are on the lighter side.

We use Colour Drop for our law firm — for both litigation /​discovery needs and also graphic design. The space itself is convenient to get to from downtown and the north bay (where a lot of our clients reside). Further, there is ample space so we have never had a problem having boxes delivered for processing.
As for graphic design, Dylan and Nicole are great. Dylan designed our open house invitation this year and was able to incorporate an original design (Chinese Year of the Horse) as well as convey an appropriate look and feel for the event. Nicole has been our go to gal for brochure design and quick turn around.
Just wanted to take a moment to publicly acknowledge Colour Drop and its employees who have supported us over the years. Thank you!

So this is the deal: if you have some very, very easy copies to do (let’s say a poster to find your lost kitty), then you might want to come here; if you are a creative professional or someone with tight deadlines (maybe you are printing some wedding invitations for a client, like me), then run away.

I needed to print custom invitations for my shower, and I’m so glad I came here. I emailed my file to Nicole, asked her to match a specific color to use as the back of the invitation. Not only did the invitation look great, she had my invitations ready for me in less than a day. When I came back a week later for more she had my additional prints ready for me within a couple hours of my request.
I will be coming back for future printing needs.

Fast, responsive customer service and very nice finished product. I’ve seen cheaper rates elsewhere but all things considered, I’d use them again.

I called Colour Drop at 2pm explaining that I had a rather complicating situation, was on the run, and was novice at printing. I was told printing 30 resumes and business cards was not an issue and someone could assist me. The clerk asked if I could e-​mail the graphic designer my file so that he could look over it and I was unable to do so, which she said was ok.
When I arrived at 3.30, I was informed that my file had to be a PDF, not Illustrator (which was not mentioned during our phone call) and I was sent home to re-​save the file accordingly.
I arrived again, but was sent home once more, because there was a front and back to the file and during the anxiety of having been told that «perhaps» they could not help me as they all had other things to do while no one truly listening to what I was re-​explaining, I only saved the front. I was told there was nothing they could do in-​house even though I had my USB. The graphic designer asked if I would e-​mail him the files from home and he would align everything properly, which was nice of him.
When I arrived again, the files were not aligned and no one could help me as they were «behind on their own deadlines.» It would take time to align the borders on the printer and literally, not one person would help me.
Here is where I get frustrated, I don’t mind running around the city, even if it weren’t my inadequacy that caused some of that. I don’t mind chasing anyone down to make eye contact enough to acknowledge me kindly. We all have bad days, and today is an especially hard one for me. I do, however; mind being completely disregarded while employees are on a smoke break outside «taking out a delivery,» as I compete with the clock from 3.30 until 5pm with only one other customer beside me – literally asking, «please help me,» and when someone finally does– a simple task such as showing me the variety of paper weight has me feeling as though I am wasting their time.
By the time 5pm struck, everyone could sense my urgency, and although I was the only customer I was basically ignored and ultimately told that no one could do a thing for me. I was never rude, imposing or demanding– I needed their help. I walked out of Colour Drop feeling disrespected and defeated, as though their employees are somehow exempt of sympathy for others.
I called SF PRINT, with only one hour left to make my own deadline. I walked over to Larkin and was amazed that Kal, not only found the right paper, aligned all the borders (off of the «impossible» PDF, mind you) and balanced 7 other customers with ease– causing me to walk out by 5.25pm with all of my documents in my hand, feeling like I had really been taken care of— And I have to say the quality of the ink is much better as well.
I know Colour Drop is fancy and organized on the inside, but their customer service echoes a very unsympathetic service– I don’t know if I can go back simply on the merit of integrity.

As an artist, I sell digital prints of my work directly to customers. Printing was always an aspect of this business that caused me great anxiety before I found Colour Drop.
I’ve worked with them for about a year and continue to do so though I live in Brooklyn now. Accurately reproducing colors of these prints are of the greatest importance to me, and I’ve always been thoroughly pleased. Quantities, whether 5 or a few hundred have always yielded excellent and intelligent customer service.
Basically, your search for a digital printer should end here.

This place is right across the street from my SF store. They were very friendly and I was able to get all my copies done within 5 minutes!!! Will be defiantly be using them instead of FedEX kinkos but only when I don’t have time because they are more expensive than FedEx kinkos.

This is a print production and document management shop located on Van Ness. They specialize in a variety of print and copy services, including legal production and e-​discovery. I came in needing to print a high-​quality photo to fit my photo frame. Due to an extremely large rush project, the main graphic designer, Satoko, was unable to help me. However, Irshad was able to help me with my small project. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, the printer was unable to print the exact size I needed. Irshad was very patient and friendly in explaining to me the differences in paper size, quality, and glossiness. Ultimately, we were able to print my photo on the specific type of paper he recommended. After this hour long ordeal, he said the print job was on the house! All in all, it was still a great experience and I highly recommend them for your local printing services.

I work in marketing at the Symphony in San Francisco and use Colour Drop on an almost-​weekly basis for many of our print projects. They are always on the ball, suggesting the appropriate stock and print method when I’m unsure of the best option for a new project. They are great about recalling the specs for pieces we print on a regular basis which saves so much time in the quote process. I trust them to handle a project quickly and accurately. They have never missed a deadline (and usually complete projects early), and have never balked at my NUMEROUS requests for last-​minute projects. I work primarily with Satoko, who is fantastic, and everyone I’ve ever worked with there has been friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. The entire process is convenient and easy from start to finish, which in a deadline-​oriented print environment, is something to appreciate.

Colour Drop is right below my apartment, and although I’ve been in there on a number of occasions, I believe my last (and final) experience sums them all up.
I walk in. Like always, no one acknowledges my presence. I have brought in a USB drive with a flyer I desire to print. I elect to stroll into the office nearest to the door. I knock the doorframe. The woman behind the desk glares at me as though I’m intruding. I explain the situation to her.
«We don’t offer that service.»
«You’re a PRINT SHOP. You don’t offer PRINTING?»
The woman rolls her eyes at me and grabs the drive from my hand. She plugs it into her computer and asks me a series of redundant questions about it as though I had never even been to a Kinko’s. At this point, I’m rather flustered, so I just answer all her questions with «yes,» although I would have appreciated options. I fill out the form and wait for the phone call to let me know my order is ready.
It never comes. I never return to the shop and, after passing it every single day, build up enough rage to write this Unilocal review.

This place is pretty awesome. I love that the graphic designer, Satoko, has been with there since I started using them in 2007. She is both attentive and helpful! While you ‘could’ go somewhere else for cheaper, low-​quality work, the work they have delivered for me keeps me coming back. I highly recommend using Colour Drop for our printing needs.

Colour Drop has been my right hand man for print/​legal document services for the last 5 years. They have handled everything from electronic distribution of discovery to massive last minute print jobs and they do it competently and effortlessly. I am always impressed with the very personal level of customer service they provide their clients.
As a solo practitioner, I could not survive without their services. When in trial, I frequently make last minute requests and Colour Drop delivers with lightening speed. They are well equipped to handle large scale cases (both federal and state).

Colour Drop has been my go to print shop for years. They have great, friendly service and are very competitively priced. The shop is run by a lovely couple who make a point to employ quality staff. They have been very accomodating with getting jobs done in the time I need and they have a very talented graphic artist on staff. Satoko has helped me with quite a few projects and I’ve been super pleased with the result every time. Both my husband and I have used Colour Drop’s services for personal, business and community event print needs.

While other quick printers have driven me to tears and left an otherwise polite girl swearing horribly, Colour Drop has returned me to creative sanity!
I’ve now used Colour Drop twice: for business cards and a spiral bound portfolio piece. I have been so impressed with their quality of printing, pricing, extraordinary speed, and if it can’t get any better than this, their customer service is unparalleled! They truly care about their work.
The last job I did with them, I called up the day before at 3 pm, desperate, worried, and needing something done by noon the next day. Definitely not something that I like to ask for! Not only was it actually DONE, but it the total cost was 35% less than other evil Quick Printers Who Shall Not Be Named.
Although I haven’t used them for large format jobs, they are a full service printer. I would recommend Colour Drop not just for graphic designers, but anyone who is looking for a reliable print vendor.
