Chilton Auto Body

Unfortunately they are closed (at least at this location). I went over today for an estimate and They were closed. There was a sign for Chilton Auto Body hanging and they were getting the shop ready to reopen.

This review has been a long time coming and the fact that I have taken the time to put it on my to do list is a sign that Sunny Auto Body is worthy of this five star rating.
I took my car here because I had been rear-​ended and it was listed under covered places for the insurance company. It had good ratings on the Better Business Bureau so I thought I’d give them a try.
1) my car had some rear end damage and there was also some buckling of the back side panel. It also had a scrape on the side that wasn’t due to the accident. They didn’t squabble over what was due to the accident or something else and just fixed it all for me no problem!
2) the automatic lock was broken on the front passenger side of my car and they fixed that for free… thank you!
3) they asked me if I wanted the car logo from my old bumper which was really nice :)
4) my car was spotless when I picked it up and it was ready exaclty when they said it would be.
5) customer service was fantastic! They coordinated with the car rental company for me to be picked up after I dropped of my car. They were helpful and explained their thought process and answered all of my questions.
I would definitely take my car here again because I felt they were honest, did a fantastic repair job and put the costumer’s needs first.

If there is something wrong with your car — plain and simple, just take it to Sunny Auto Body and the terrific staff there will take care of it in fine fashion or refer you out to someone who will handle it in fine fashion. I happen to live close by and was the victim of a crazed motor scooter driver who in rush hour traffic, stopped in front of me, took off his helmet and smashed it into my windshield. He ran to his scooter and scooted away before I could IPhone pic him but I may have the license number so … so since my insurance deductible is $ 1000, I thought I would just have it fixed without insurance. However the impact to my windshield affected the hardtop convertible mechanism and the vendor I had called after checking on Unilocal,said the top needed to be down or they couldn’t change the windshield. The bad thing was they tried to force it so my top was now partially open and my rear side windows were down and not able to be raised. My compatriot SG suggested taking it to Sunny since it’s so close by and I was resistant after the bad experience with the other vendor.
WHATEVER IT IS, JUST TAKE YOUR CAR TO SUNNY AUTO BODY. Like the other reviews mentioned, this is one terrific group of repair guys, they go beyond the call of duty, and although they were unable to work on the convertible hardtop, they referred me out but offered to shelter my exposed interior Lexus over night since we mentioned we have an uncovered $ 275/​mo. parking space. The next morning they even drove the car over with SG since I was other occupied at the time.
This is one CLASSY outfit and I’m not generous with 5 stars but this place is 5 stars, really great people who really care and go the extra mile to make sure you are happy with the results. I recommend with no hesitation and I salute the gentlemen working at Sunny Auto Body. CLASS ACT GUYS!
I would like to switch my Liberty Mutual auto insurance to Farmer’s just so Sunny could work on the car, should heaven forbid, I need auto repair due to psycho vandalism.

I’ve used Sunny Auto Body on numerous occasions & they always provide excellent service and value with exceptional integrity. Kevin is great!

Anytime I need work done on my car, Sunny Auto Body in Nob Hill is my first stop. Their prices are great, and their work is flawless. I trust their integrity, and they stand behind their work.
A few years ago, I had them fix my front bumper after it was pulled off. (I drive a small convertible that sits low to the ground, and the front bumper became loose to the point of falling off, after I hooked it on one-​too-​many parking cement blocks.)
Recently, I brought the car in to see if they could repair the same bumper for the same reason. (Again, the bumper was partially pulled off after I hooked it on a parking cement block.) The owner repaired the bumper on the spot… and for free! I certainly had’t expected that, since nothing had been faulty about their original work, and the recent repair was completely my fault.
Every time I’ve taken my car to Sunny Auto Body, the work is done quickly. Their customer service is superb. If you’re looking for an auto body repair shop you can trust, I highly recommend you take your car to Sunny Auto Body!

This is the place to get your body work done. Seriously. Kevin and Alex and awesome. I’ve had 3 significant pieces of work done — replacing multiple bumpers, body panels, interior wheel arches etc — and every time it’s been a fantastic experience. I’ve just stopped in to get a few scrapes cleaned up and they did it right there, on the spot. Seriously good people.

I just join Unilocal because I felt compelled to write a review I promised to Kevin Kuang of Sunny Auto Body shop — I never met him before, he was very friendly and professional.
I was driving my wife’s brand new Toyota Prius, in a hurry to get to an evening gig. The lighting in the parking lot was very dim and I backed into a low wooden post.
Needless to say I was so frustrated to have scratched the bumper of ‘wife’s new car”.
Next morning I go to Lofrano to get an estimate but the guy doing estimates was out for a couple of hours. I drove to Sunny Auto Body and was met by Keving Huang.
He looked at it and said, let me clean it up a little, wait in the office; if you still want to proceed with fixing it, I’ll give you an estimate.
He worked his magic and when he called me to see it, I saw the scratch was almost totally gone.
What a reliief, I asked how much for his work, and he said it’s free. Say what!
In this day and age who does that for FREE? I insisted but he said don’t worry.
As you can see this man is very honest and kind even to a total stranger. Another auto body shop very likely would’ve given me a high estimate, knowing that it was a minor scratch. To the untrained eye it looked like a bad dirty scratch that needed to be painted asap.
Needless to say that if in the future I need to bring (knock on wood) my car (s) for body repair I will definitly will bring it to Kevin Huang of Sunny Auto Body.

Ok — I am a new fan. Some guy backed into the front of my car (really??) and I needed to get the now-​cracked front bumper fixed. I looked at the Unilocal reviews and saw all good things about Sunny’s auto body. They were right.
Kevin, the manager, was amazing. He took care of my car, dealt with the insurance company, and fixed a separate ding I managed to inflict (not under insurance). With Kevin’s advice, we scheduled the car to go in on Monday morning, so that the car rental time would be shorter (not over the weekend) and any extra time for fixing my self-​inflicted ding would be minimized. He promised the car by Friday.
Well, I received a call Wednesday afternoon. My car was finished! All signs of the accident gone, and the separate dent had vanished. Paint color was perfect, too.
I paid for the fixing of the separate ding. I am not sure they were the cheapest, but the work was fine, the service positively memorable, and the location so convenient. Definitely worth the price.

This review is long overdue but is for Kevin at Sunny Auto Body. This man is one of the most trustworthy businessman I have ever encountered. He is truthful, kind, and genuine to the core! I am fully confident in backing his business and encourage you to try him as well.

Kevin and all the staff are just great as so is their work. I have had to take my car to them on 3 other occasions which I have been very satisfied with the work and the timely manner of getting my car back. Last night they saved my life when I when I couldn’t get my trunk lock to work. It was fairly close to closing but they took the time to help me straight away and fix the lock as good as new!

What a fantastic place! I talked with Kevin after having a fight with my garage door… and my car lost. Anyhoo– I brought it in immediately and Kevin was very reassuring and quick to fix my car– AND very affordable. Thank you thank you thank you!!! I will be back if I ever have another issue with my car (knock on wood).

They fixed my Mazda last week and the work was exceptional. They even did some things they didn’t have to do. They kept me in the loop during the entire repair process and they matched the paint perfectly. These people are 100% honest and I drove out ot there very pleased.

tl;dr I worked with Kevin from Sunny Auto Body. He was honest, easy-​going, patient, willing to help and considerate.
I finally decided to sign up on Unilocal to write this review because the extraordinary effort of Sunny Auto Body should deserve my appreciation.
I had a car accident earlier this year and was told the rear part (forgive me for never getting to know the English words for auto body) of my car need to be entirely replaced. It took couple weeks to do the whole replacement and cost me ~10k (actually not me but the insurance company). The repaired car was like a new one. I was very happy for their great work.
Just want to point out several things why Sunny Auto Body is doing awesome.
— Kevin (the guy works for Sunny) was very patient and explained everything I needed to know about auto repair (since I knew nothing at all). I felt like I was respected and carefully taken care of.
— I got update of the repairing progress every week.
— The repair has been delayed for a week because of a delivery issue of some auto part. Kevin rented a car for me at his expense even if the delay was not Sunny’s fault.
— Kevin found my window wipers were in a weird situation (unlikely caused by the accident). He replaced them for free.
— They helped me install a hitch even if it was several months after the original repair.
Well, it’s hard to express my thanks through words. The score tells the truth.

In the last year I have become a VERY experienced Sunny Auto Body customer — four visits from me plus two very satisfied friends whom I have referred. I am here to tell you: look no further. Sunny is EXCELLENT in every way. This is the place whether you’ve sustained major damage or some annoyingly minor ding.
I was first referred by Farmers Insurance when I was rear-​ended on 101 in May 2012 — car was drivable but not a pretty sight. I picked Sunny from a list based on location. I was impressed with Kevin in our first conversation. I arrived to find a meticulously neat shop in which all the mechanics were busy as bees. The waiting room is clean, comfortable and has wireless. The estimate to fix the damage was reasonable and the work was completed ahead of schedule. Kevin is intelligent and an excellent communicator.
I was so happy with how great my car looked after I picked it up at Sunny that I arranged to bring in my husband’s car to fix two small/​medium dents that annoyed him. It was a surprise gift for my husband (this guy is hard to get a gift for!). Once again, great work, great price and perfectly professional service. Very happy husband.
Two weeks ago, I rear-​ended someone on VanNess. Very low impact as we were just moving from the light. I went straight to Sunny, unannounced. Kevin asked me to sit down for 10 minutes. In that time he buffed the scratch, touched it up with a little paint and hammered my license plate back to flat. I asked how much. He said «nothing». I insisted. I am good at insisting. I was not allowed to give him one dime.
Last night, upon returning to my car after a hike in Tennessee Valley, we found that someone had hit my rear bumper, causing the rear wheel panel to pop out in two places. They did not leave a note (sigh). This morning I dropped in and said to Kevin «This time I have something I can pay you for!» In 10 minutes, he buffed it, found a replacement connector screw and you could not tell anything had happened. This time, money in hand, I was not going to take no for an answer. But Kevin was just as strong. In the end, he unassumingly asked that I write my feelings about Sunny Auto Body on Unilocal.
So here I am. As you will see from my stats, I am rarely moved to write a review. But I was happy to take the time to write this. Kevin and his team are the best. It’s never fun to need auto body work, but I guarantee that Sunny Auto Body will make your overall experience a much happier one.

I would recommend this shop to anyone who is in need of autobody repair. They were kind, accomodating, and did great work. My car was repaired in a matter of days and was returned to me clean and in better condition than I left it, and I’m not referring to just the external condition of the car.

They run a very honest and customer service-​focused business here. If you’re a woman, ignorant about cars, and worried about being taken advantage of by car mechanics, you can rest easy going to Sunny Auto Body.
I’m not sure who Meghan A. spoke with, but the gentleman I spoke with had no problems communicating in English, so don’t be deterred.

Someone attempted a u-​turn across 4 lanes of traffic without looking and took out the passenger side of my car. I went through their insurance and ended up at Sunny’s. Before going there, I checked Unilocal and was impressed by their 5-​star rating.
The service at Sunny’s is TIP TOP notch!
— When I arrived, Kevin handed me a bottle of water (the small things count too)
— Kevin clearly explained what needed to be fixed vs replaced and called me the next day to confirm my car was not totaled
— The rental car company picked me up at Sunny’s and I was able to drop the car off at Sunny’s when my car was ready
— The repairs were done a couple days early
— Sunny’s fixed extra stuff for no added cost! No added cost!
— My car looks new again!
With the chaos of dealing with the adjustor (how do they sleep at night with their bully tactics!!!) it was a relief to feel at ease about the work Sunny’s was doing. I felt like I was taking my car to my brother and knew it would be done right. Can’t ask for more!

Somebody broke into my BMW and did over $ 3k worth of damage (smashing out the windows, denting the body, and slashing with a knife the interior leather). My Farmers Insurance adjustor subtley persuaded me to try Sunny Auto because Farmer’s has a contract with them. At first, I was hesitant, assuming that the two companies were in cahoots trying to give the client the least amount of repair, etc (hard not to be suspicious of big insurance these days). But I decided to try Sunny Auto because it is more convenient — the fact that they have the partnership with Farmers means you don’t have to do triangulate between the body shop and your insurance agent — they talk to each other and figure out the claim details, $, etc for you. Plus, I’d rather support small, local business than give my $ to the BMW Dealership Service Center where they exploit you and nickel/​dime you to death.
Anyways, Alex is awesome and you feel like you are dealing with a friend, not a stranger (or crook). The place is also immaculately clean and organized. Very rare for an auto body shop!
Most importantly, the workmanship on my car was flawless!!! It looks better than it has in years. And he gave it back to me completely cleaned. It almost looks as if it has been detailed.
I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ENOUGH!

These guys EASILY earn 5 stars and they are a model for how any small, local business should run. I acquired a free car from a friend and it needed some tinkering w/​the locks. Since I was working nearby, I brought the sexy clunker in to Alex and told him the problem (s).
All I can say is that he took very good care of the situation and was utmost professional, friendly and realistic– it’s a 16 year old car, for Pete’s sake. The other guys there are equally as friendly and you’ll know you’re in the best auto body shop when you walk in.
Trust me. These guys know what’s up.
