Don’s Auto Body fixed my front bumper and a scratch on the side of my car that had started to rust. I couldn’t ask for better service. Staff were helpful, friendly, and got the job done quickly! They did high quality work and were extremely efficient!

My car got rear ended and required major repairs (north of $ 7k). Don’s Auto body did an incredibly good job with the repairs, you can’t even tell it was ever in an accident. Cary was my contact person at the shop, he was informative, responsive, and great guy to work with. I highly recommend this place.

Unbelievable service. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Obviously you never want to HAVE to use the services of a body shop, but if you find yourself in the position where you need to, there is no better place to go. Period. I’ll never go anywhere else and would recommend to anyone.

Yes, they repair your car but they go the extra mile. No that does not mean they wash your car, when they are done — they do, it means they do more than you even hoped for for less money than you expected.
My car seems to have a giant magnet on it because more cars have driven into than I can understand. All but one of these times i have taken my car to Dons and that one time, I was not impressed with the service.
Whenever my car needs paint touched up from another car slamming into mine, Don’s always touches up any paint anywhere on my car that may need it. They vacuum the inside and this very last time, not only did they fix a dent on my car that had nothing to do with the accident, they brought the repair in for over $ 100 less than their estimate.
What world have I just entered? One where service and honesty still exit! Thanks you.
(PS — this is one of those rare times I write a good review. If all places had the work ethic of Don’s, no one would ever complain and always leave happy. Maybe not impressed but in this day and age, when companies so rarely give good service, I am SO impressed with Dons)

If you live in the bay area and ever need auto body work done I HIGHLY recommend going to Don’s Auto Body on Bush street in San Francisco! I’m turning in my car because my lease is up and I went in there because there was some damage to the exterior. Cynthia was incredible! I got into an accident in my new fully loaded lexus and was devastated by the loss of my car. What made the experience less painful was the exceptional service and customer care provided by Don’s entire team! The accident occurred in San Mateo and I have USAA insurance so they recommended Don’s Auto Body in San Mateo. I checked the reviews and felt confident with selecting Don’s. Due the the extent of damage my car suffered Don’s in San Mateo towed my car to their SF location which handles the bigger repairs. From my initial contact with Don’s in San Mateo to completing the process with Don’s in San Francisco, I was truly impressed and grateful for the service they provided me. Their quick response time, professional service and etiquette, and comprehensive knowledge and willingness to research the ins and outs of my car and situation makes them top notch. Although in the end, my car was deemed a total loss by my insurance, if I ever need an auto body shop in the future without question this is where I would go! Do yourself a favor and save yourself some of the heartache of experiencing an accident and ease the stress and hassle by coming here, you wont regret it. We got rear ended and needed a bumper replacement. Cary and the Don’s team was awesome and coordinated all the headache between the rental car, insurance, etc for us. They did an amazing job, it really looks brand new. Hopefully we don’t get hit again but if we do we will definitely be coming back to see Cary.

Our car had some minor damage and AAA (CSAA) told us to take the car to Don’s Auto Body for repair and a rental car would be provided. Nancy @ DAB also told us this same story. All that happened was DAB took pictures and will not provide an estimate. They did not fix the car as we were promised and no rental car was provided.

Don’s Auto Body and specifically, Cynthia, was a pleasure to work with. Everybody I talked to was very friendly and accommodating, Their communication was great and they handled the interaction with USAA to get my claim resolved quickly. The quality of their workmanship was excellent and my car looks great. Highly recommend!

BAD SERVICE — POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, When I went to pick up my car after over $ 5000 in repairs, I noticed a piece under my driver seat was damaged and the whole interior was dirty/​dusty, I showed these 2 issues to them before driving away, they say they take care of it, when I picked it for a second time I noticed they made holes on the original piece and added screws to keep it in place (like using crazy glue or duck tape) I was upset and told them, they said, the damaged wasn’t done by them so they used screws just to help me, dust was visible between the seats and many other places.

Highly recommend Don’s Auto Body. They were suggested by AAA after I filed a claim for a small fender bender.
I drove in on a Friday to have them give me an estimate. The estimator said it was a really small job and she had one of her guys take care of it while I waited.
Everyone was really friendly and the quality of work was great. Many thanks! I will tell my friends.

Excellent quality of work. Very, very strong communicators, and worked with a couple special requests to have only OEM parts applied. They received a hard to get part, but it had a very small scratch on it. They notified me, allowed me to make the choice if I’d like to keep the part or request a new one. Don’a did body work and paint– quickly, professionally, and with very high quality workmanship.
Highly recommend for even the most meticulous car owner (like myself).

Don’s Autobody was referred to me by my garage, who I love and so I was thrilled to find they were awesome. From the moment I set foot inside to get my Subaru repaired after an altercation with a large block of wood, they were professional and courteous. I had been to one other bodyshop beforehand and felt they were trying to rip me off — but not here. They walked me through the process and worked with my insurance company to ensure I got all new Subaru parts and a car that looks as good as new.
Collin did an amazing job of the repairs and took photos of every step of the way so I could see what he had done. The cleaning of my car inside and out was an added bonus that had me smiling.
I would highly recommend Don’s for anyone but especially women, as I have been on the receiving end of treatment where they assume I am stupid and no nothing about cars because I am a woman. Here, the staff is genuine, honest and trustworthy. They are also value for money. The first quote I got was for a little less than Don’s but they were not guaranteeing Subaru parts and I got the feeling that they would have cut corners.
Don’t even bother with the other autobody shops, just trust Don’s to take care of you — they won’t let you down!

I had a scraped and partially detached bumper and came in for an estimate this morning. The estimate I received from another body shop in SF quoted me at $ 1100, suggesting I needed the entire bumper replaced. And they have a 5* rating on Unilocal.
Suffice to say, I was prepared and ready to spend.
When Cynthia looked at it, she had one of her staff members attempt to fix it right in front of me. He pulled out some tools, popped it back into place and they wished me well, all free of charge.
I was shocked.
Cynthia mentioned that it’s all about people and relationships when you’re in business nearly 40 years and that they strive to do right by their customers day in and day out. I’m walking proof that they live by those words.

Owning and operating a decent car in San Francisco has become a hazardous sport.
Taking your car to an auto mechanic or body shop is Hunger Games scary.
So why is Don’s Auto Body so busy?
1. The staff. Real people. Down to earth. Cynthia and her colleagues don’t talk down to you like a ‘mark’, but as a member of their community. I trust the staff.
2. Value. Each time I’ve contracted Don’s, their price has come in 40% below the top of the range of estimates I’ve received from some of their competitors.
3. Location. This business has been around a long time. They are not a recent start-​up way out there. They have an accessible location with lots of capacity.
So why write this rave review and make Don’s even busier? And choke my potential access to a booking?
I want to promote vendors with these values, expertise and service — particularly in the car category in San Francisco.

I got in a car crash and rear ended someone and the hood of my car was completely destroyed to the point where my front bumper blew off. I was worried that my car would have to be totaled. The accident was frightening but what was potentially more frightening was the prospect of being a single girl in a car repair shop. I was almost certain I’d be taken advantage of… financially, that is.
I have insurance through USAA so I called them to file a claim and they recommended Don’s. It’s close enough to my house and reviews on Unilocal seemed good enough. In the hour between calling AAA to tow my car and arriving at Don’s the front desk already had my claim on file. They also offered to call Enterprise to help arrange my rental car. George Bold was great to work with — very friendly, professional, and constantly kept me in the loop about my repairs. They managed to make the car look brand new and all I had to pay was my deductible.
I would definitely go back for any future repairs… hopefully I don’t have to though.

I am a very satisfied customer after having work done on my Honda Insight at Don’s. I side swiped a pole and did some considerable damage to the driver door and mirror of the car.
I received estimates from several shops but the decision to go to Don’s was very easy. The person answering the phone when I first inquired was incredibly helpful and scheduled an appointment for an estimate.
The estimate is what really wowed me. They took the time to ask me questions about what I wanted, options and costs. I let them know I couldn’t justify an insurance claim for such a stupid personal error and that I planned on paying for the repair on my own.
A tech then joined us and explained my options (repair or re-​skin the door) I told them my plans and expectations and we decided to re-​pair and leave the front fender and bumper on during the repair. This saved me an incredible amount of money and it’s an Insight that has lived its whole life in the city the rest of the car isn’t perfect.
As if this was not enough they were able to source a used mirror for me painted the same color as the car and save me 50% what a new un-​painted one from Honda would have cost.
They knew the car was in there on a tight schedule as I dropped it off early in the week and would be leaving town for a while at the end. There was a slight issue with parts and the car would not be done in time for me to pick up prior to leaving. They were very gracious and kindly stored my car for me while I was gone at no cost.
Upon arrival to pick the car up they held true to their estimate almost to the dollar and the car was perfect! I am a stickler for wavy/​bad body work and after a few days of looking at it in different lights I can’t tell there is any filler in the door at all. The car is a heavy metalic light silver color and they did an incredible job of blending it as well.
Also they washed and vacuumed my car for me, coming home to a clean repaired car after my trip made my day.
Was it cheap? No… Body work is not cheap and good body work especially does not come cheap. However they did everything in their power to control costs knowing I would be paying for it myself and explained every outcome of each very well. Great experience.
