Oh my goodness — I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Noushin rocks — I go in looking awful and come out looking like a rockstar. She is awesome at her job and I get a ton of compliments for her work. I recently had a baby and my hair was terrible and Noushin still made it look amaxing and made me feel great. Thank you Noushin — so lucky to have you as my hairdresser.

Noushin did a fabulous job on my hair color. I can’t wait to go back for a haircut. She is a great stylist. I highly recommend her.

I have been seeing Noushin since she took over the salon and I have to say she is the best. I do not agree with any of the negative posts. I just called and got an appointment for next week at the time of my choice with no problem. Noushin is an excellent colorist, my hair would be tatty and grey if it weren’t for her! Plus the cuts are always on target. I love coming and relaxing and leaving feeling pretty.

Noushin has been coloring my hair now for almost three years and does an amazing job!!! There are many, many times where people compliment me on my color! She is very knowledgable with over 25 years of experience… She is aware of the latest trends but can also do a traditional cut and color. Her Brazilian Blow outs are fantastic!
Anyone who needs a great hair stylist needs to go to Noushin and Château 1508! Did I mention she also veery fashion savvy! Makes it fun to spend time with her and share ideas!!!

Noushin is a blessing in my life. I used to have damages hair for many years. Finally she saved me. I love my new hair and I get many compliments from people who know me and they realize how much healthier and more beautiful my hair has become and people on the street that think I have hair extension!
Noushin knows what she does. She knows the fashion and products and just has eyes for beauty. She cares for her clients. And who can you get used to the gorgeous prime view of her salon! Thank you Noushin, I feel like a celebrity…

I’ve been visiting Noushin for the past 2 years. She and all the stylists are definitely knowledgeable and skilled. They’ve done a fantastic job with a number of Brazilian blowouts and cuts. When I decided to chop off 11 inches of hair, Noushin was full of great suggestions.
That said, scheduling an appointment here is a VERY difficult and usually disappointing process. That’s the reason I’m rating it 3 stars. The salon isn’t open on Sundays, and for a Sat appointment you essentially have to book 3 weeks in advance! This is the second time I’ve had to forgo my haircut, because they don’t have any availability outside of business hours. At $ 80+/cut, I think there are more accommodating alternatives.

I returned to these stylists for keratin treatment after a previous hair stylist was unsuccessful with this treatment. They did a great job with my first treatment so I was glad to go back.
I let them know that the previous stylist had used Coppola and it didnt come out straight after the first wash. Well, they said that the Coppola formula was not strong enough and would not work on my hair. They use a different product (I think Brazilian Blowout, but it is the keratin treatment, not the blowout) and it will get my hair straight. I wanted it to be at least 80% less frizzy. Anyways, the first time I showered my hair began to frizz up again. I called them immediately after I showered (the 4^th day after treatment) but they didn’t return my call.
Finally, I stop by the salon and they said my hair wouldn’t be that less frizzy because the formula in the keratin treatment changed. They never told me this while I was getting my hair done. Then they said my hair was damaged and sometimes the product won’t take to the hair– also something they never mentioned during my treatment as you would think they would have noticed that. They said there was nothing they can really do for me. I think that’s poor customer service. I found a new salon who did the Coppola keratin treatment and it worked just fine so I guess they were wrong about Coppola and the whole process in general. Won’t be going back there.

Last year for my company holiday party, I wanted to glam it up a bit. We are a very low key office, jeans and flats, so I wanted to show my co workers I could put on the ritz! I knew that Raquel Breen, a makeup artist at Château 1508 could give me the look I was after. I was treated well, her demeanor was both professional and friendly and most importantly, I loved my look! I received so many compliments that night that even my husband of 12 years stopped and took another look.
In less than three weeks, I will be attending my 20^th high school reunion and I know exactly who to visit first to give me the confidence boost I need!

You know, the beautiful woman you see in the street, wearing clothes you’re sure she got at some fantastic vintage boutique, in Paris.
Yet once you meet her, she’s the nicest, most friendly person in the world, she’s patient, charming. She listens to you and helps you figure out the perfect look… for that special night… or the weekend… or the season! You’ll be booking her again and again!!!

As good as it gets !!! Five stars for my girl Raquel who is a makeup artist at Château 1508. I have used Raquel for years… From low key affair to black tie event… Any time I want to take it up a notch, I book an appointment and let her take care of the details!!! She has taken me from fresh faced and subtle for a cooperate event to smokey and glamourous for a black tie affair. I just sit in her chair and let her work her magic. Viola, gorgeous!

This is a long overdue review of Château 1508, a salon that I truly adore and appreciate. Prior to finding Château 1508, I rarely frequented salons due to the fact that I dye my long, blonde hair myself (a fact that elicits expressions of shock and disapproval from many stylists). In addition, I generally cut the ends of my hair myself and only feel the need to get a trim once a year. Yes, I was a girl who did not have a salon and I was quite happy about that fact. .. . primarily because I was able to justify spending more on clothes and shoes on
every month.
However, last December, everything changed. I learned about the Brazilian Blowout from a friend and I was intrigued. My hair is naturally wavy, which means that it is easy to curl or straighten, but it is difficult to predict what it will do. Due to the fact that I already subject my hair to infinite amounts of damage with the monthly stripping/​dying, I try not to apply heat to it. Thus, it takes at least 2 hours after washing my hair to air dry and style it. As a student in my first year of a doctoral program, I was finding that I hardly had time to wash my hair, let alone mess with all of that.
The Brazilian blowout promises many things. .. one of which is the ability to cut drying time in half and forgo the need to style it afterwards. It did all of that and more. After the first treatment my hair was sleek, straight, and shiny. It was like glass. Although the effects aren’t quite as drastic with repeated treatments, it still turns out beautifully and is more than worth it. The fact that it lasts for at least 3 months has allowed me to use the time that I’d otherwise be spending on hours of drying and styling on more important things. .. like procrastinating.
As for the stylists at Château 1508, I can’t sing their praises enough. Desiree is super-​talented, sweet, beautiful, and funny. I always enjoy the time that I spend in her chair. Noushin, the owner of the salon, is as chic and fabulous as her well-​appointed salon space. She runs an excellent business and treats her customers with consideration and honesty regarding the products she uses. She appreciates loyal clients and offers reasonable prices to those who continue to book with her. I intend to be one of those clients and I recommend anyone who is considering a blowout to try it out with them.

The first time I came here I found this place through the Bloomspot coupon for $ 150($) for the Brazilian Blowout. I LOVED it, it lasted for about 6 months and they even told me that since I used Bloomspot my next 3 treatments would be $ 150 as well. A year later I felt like my hair finally went back to it’s frizzy wavy state and was desperate to do it before moving out of SF so I can cut down the time of styling my hair.
I came back hoping to pay $ 150 and well. they upped the price because they changed the solution or whatever? I still think that they should have stuck to the price they had told me since that was the only reason why I came back.
1 month later… my hair is starting to get frizzy. at the ends especially. I’m not doing anything different than before, still using the same shampoo & conditioner.
I’m not happy with my results and that they didn’t stick to the price that they had told me from my first visit. should have obeyed it even though they had changed the solution or what not.
This is my 3^rd time having it done so I know how the results are supposed to look after 1 month.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Noushin and Desiree are amazing! They work seamlessly together and always make me feel welcome. I have been coming to château for almost a year now… the first time I came in i had shoulder length, black hair, with self-​made bangs… I looked… not sooo good… after some hair therapy with Noushin and Desiree, my hair has grown to the middle of my back, and is the most beautiful warm brown and blonde color… I have Victoria Secret hair!!! I honestly can say one of my best features is my hair, because of these two «miracle workers»… Love you guys tons and I always look forward to coming to get my hairs did, and to hang out with my girls on the 15^th floor :)
Great atmosphere, wonderful people, talent for hair, and an undoubtedly perfect eye for color… this is hands down one of the best salons in SF!

I love love love Noushin and Desiree they did my Brazilian Blowout. They use the best products and are very knowledgable about their products. It took an hour and my hair is soo straight I feel great! Tried another place for my first brazilian and it lasted a month HORRIBLE sooo annoyed $ 200 down the drain BUt not with Noushin she explained when to wash my hair that I could still curl my hair as well. My cousin fist got hers done here and it lasted 6 months :)

Like everyone else on Earth, I found myself at Château 1508 because I’d purchased a Bloom Spot deal on a Brazilian Blowout. With it’s tight little metal-​gated elevator (or the steep narrow stairs), reaching Château 1508 feels like the quintessential Union Square salon experience.
Inside, the salon is very small and very charming. It’s decorated simply, but with it’s high ceiling, little stylish flair, and peek-​a-​boo views of bulding tops, it’s got style and energy. As for Stylist Desray and Owner Noushin? Style and energy to spare.
I enjoyed the way these two worked hand in hand, each of them taking over some portion of doing my blowout. I’m not certain why they work this way — after the shampoo, most places have one person handling your hair — but it was cool.
Desray was wearing the shortest mini-​dress imaginable, but somehow she managed to chat, bend, blow, and flat-​iron without revealing any lady-​parts.
Noushin is obviously a savvy businesswoman. She was quick to tell me that she’d offer me the same price for my next two blowouts as I’d paid for my Bloom Spot. This is both a good deal for me and for her. I liked that business-​smartz. Even if you didn’t buy the original Bloom Spot, she’s smart and would probably offer you the same deal if you ask nicely.
What I didn’t like, and what keeps me from giving this the full-​5-​star write-​up were a few things:
I’m not sure why, but for some reason they really yanked that flat-​iron through my hair. I’ve had the Blowout done elsewhere before and it didn’t feel anything like this. I could cope, but it was definitely not a good feeling.
Noushin also talked a lot about her concerns over the safety of the Brazilian Blowout product. I’d heard those concerns also but, despite her reassurances that she was all studied up on it and doing things as safe as possible, thinking about it while I was actually getting my hair done made me feel decidedly less comfortable. Does anyone really want to be reminded that they’re probably putting formaldehyde on their head? As they’re having it done?!
The precautions they took to minimize safety concerns included shampooing immediately after application. I was concerned this might result in the product not lasting as long but so far (1 + month later), no worries. They also had this enormous dryer thing pointed toward the top of my head, apparently sucking out the toxic fumes. Nothing says «FUN» like toxic fumes! All of these precautions and the talk about them actually detracted a bit, for me, from the treat that a salon is.
When they were through, it was sort of late and Noushin was somewhat less interested in me than she had been earlier. I got the feeling she was done and had moved on, distracted by other brighter, shinier young things. Regardless, I think these gals are smart and talented and enterprising and that should be rewarded with lots of repeat business.

Château 1508 has just gained one of the best colorists and stylists in the US. A big statement, I know, but I have had my color done and hair cut in top salons all over the country; L.A., Phoenix, Chicago, New York, DC to name a few. No one, anywhere, has ever come close to Hunter Quartermane.
Hunter has been styling my hair for 10 years. For the last 5 years of our history, I lived far enough away that I had to either fly to him or take a 5 hour drive, each way. Which I did. Every two months. Because he is worth it.
What I love most about him is that he extremely smart and intuitive. It’s like he studies color reactions on all different types of hair so that when you go to him and ask him to color your hair, he knows exactly what tone you’re asking for and how to give you what you want. My biggest concern always is blonde because it can go wrong so many different ways. Never once since I have been seeing Hunter has my blonde been anything but perfect. Never gold, never brassy. I can sit down and tell him I don’t know what I want, I just want something different and he always seems to know how to read into that and make me look and feel fabulous. His cuts are amazing.
I currently live in DC but will be making a trip to Château 1508 very soon. If you’re looking for the best colorist/​stylist you’ve every had, you have to give Hunter Quartermane a chance. He won’t let you down.

This is one of the worst salons I have ever been to. I was extremely uncomfortable with the owners approach in a) rushing me through my appointment because there was another women in the salon getting a brazilian blowout and paying full price as opposed to me who purchased the bloomspot b) forced into dying my hair when the color didnt even take fully c) also charge $ 50 to take my extensions out when I was told I would not have to pay at all. I the owner does not treat each customer equally and I will not recommend you going to the salon. There are only 4 stations total and it seems unsanitary to me. I did however love desiree and rachel, they were extremely nice and helpful and felt guilty as they knew the owner was trying to squeeze every penny out of me.
if you read the reviews on this, the ONLY reason people had a good experience is because they purchased the bloomspot deal. I do not recommend you going to this salon, well I guess if youve already purchased the bloomspot coupon, you have to, but I would recommend not returning!

I’ve had one Brazilian blowout already and since loving it, I could not pass up the bloomspot certificate for another. Having never been to this salon, I didn’t know what to expect. It’s scary going somewhere new! My fears were set aside instantly because this salon is SO CUTE! The décor is amazing and so fitting to the owner and her boisterous (in a good way) personality.
Noushin and Desiree both worked on my hair and I was in and out of there within an hour. I have really long, curly hair and my last blowout was three plus hours, so needless to say I was AMAZED! I left with my hair perfectly straight, soft, and smooth.
The real test was my recent trip to New York, which is why I waited two weeks to post this review. It totally survived the test. My hair looked really silky and frizz-​less, even in the gross– next to humid, then rain, then more humid, weather.
GO TO THIS SALON! You will have fun chatting with the stylists and leave with some pretty amazing looking hair.
ps — girls, if you have ruthless, curly hair with a ton of frizz, you really need to get the Brazilian blowout. My favorite is after three weeks, when my hair has beach waves and is still soft, yet full of body. Go get it!

I snapped up a Brazilian Blowout offered on
(similar to a Groupon) just last week and immediately called to schedule my appointment. I was able to get an appointment quickly, as I had hoped. Apparently, this salon is recently under new ownership.
The old building the salon is tucked away in, is adorable. The salon itself is very small, cute and clean. And beautiful city views from the salon chair!
So, I couldn’t believe how fast these two ladies were with my Brazilian Blowout. It was my first Brazilian and I’d planned on sitting at the salon for over 2.5 hours, based on others experiences I’d heard about with Brazilian. I was in and out in less than one hour. Seriously.
The ladies were pleasant and explained all I needed to know and what to expect with this Brazilian treatment. I did not have a haircut or color. As I write, it’s only been three days since visiting the salon and I feel good about the service provided. I will be happy to update in a few weeks. The ladies did recommend that I purchase their shampoo and conditioner product (of course they did.), but I was kind of expecting that anyway since the Brazilian requires a specially formulated shampoo.
All in all, I feel like it was a success.

I have to agree with the previous review with saying i now have one other man in my life. So funny but so true, Adam is hands down the best. I have had great cuts, but nothing as perfect as what he did.
I guess it was meant to be because I didn’t even plan on coming here! I didn’t even know about the place. I was next door at Maria’s getting my brows done and she was raving about «Adam» and how he was really an artist with hair and very meticulous. And given her hair did look hot/​adorable/​great for her look i was up for going and seeing what the deal was with this «Adam.»
So he had a second and he sat me down and went through my hair and explained his thoughts and it was like i met my long lost twin… haha sounds silly but he explained what i had been invisioning all this time. Not to mention he shared a lot a lot of knowledge about my hair and what styles of cutting would effect it in which ways… which made me feel comfortable enough to just go for it.
So i finally was letting someone cut my hair shorter again! I have been very cautious because i bad short cut is like death… i have been keeping it long for a while to stay safe. He was incredibly thorough and explains as he goes along what his thoughts are and makes sure you agree and if you don’t he listens and makes adjustments. He cut perfectly framed my face, accentuating it in all the right ways, nothing was ‘off’ about my look. I literally couldn’t find anything wrong with it. I love it. Not to mention it was great to sit and talk to him about hair care and cosmetics. He is not just there to cut hair, he is very passionate about his line of work.
So the next day when i woke up and took a shower and had to run to work without doing anything but letting it air dry the cut was truly put to the test and it still looked great with nothing done to it.
Adam is brilliant with hair, and i will be referring friends there. Thank you, see you soon! =)
