Big Leprechaun Moving was great! The guys were fast/​efficient while also very careful with my belongings. I couldn’t be happier with the experience as they couldn’t have done a better job or been nicer to work with. Highly recommend!

These guys are incredible. They moved our one bedroom apartment in just a few hours with tons of care and professionalism. They also helped us rearrange furniture as we were pretty indecisive! Will absolutely be using them again next time we move.

They were quick, friendly, effective and all my stuff got moved over without a hitch. They were gentle with my things. They come with «wardrobe boxes» as well so that you don’t have to pack your hanging clothes. They moved a small studio in 2 hours flat.
Big Leprechaun movers came highly recommended by friends, and I would say that they will come highly recommended by me as well for being honest, easy to schedule, effective and overall incredibly helpful. Robbie, the owner was very helpful and communicative as well.

I recently moved to a new apartment in San Francisco and, on the recommendation of a co-​worker, gave Big Leprechaun a call. The move was easy to schedule and the movers arrived on time and were professional, fast and efficient… they really made the move a breeze. I would use them again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend to friends!

Let me start off by saying that this was the easiest move I have ever made.
The 3 guys they sent out we’re were quick, thorough, and beyond nice.
They packed my kitchen and moved my room and furniture from the Haight to the Marina. What I expected to take most of the day only ended up taking a few hours.
I also had them store some extra stuff while I figure out what to do with it.
I cannot say enough good words about my whole experience with big leprechaun. This is the best moving company I have ever used and recently o have moved quite a bit. Won’t think to use anyone ever again!

These guys are the best. They use common sense, are friendly, and move quick… not much more you could ask for with movers. They were also good with being gentle with furniture and taking care of everything. I used them for 6 hours (two man crew) and it came out to $ 950, then subtract a $ 100 for the Unilocal voucher. (It took 6 hours because we had to pack up my boyfriend’s room, drive from the Peninsula into the city, back up my room, then drive to the East Bay. The rates were reasonable the guys were great!

Robbie and Kevin were the BEST movers, ever. They were early, polite, conscientious, efficient, and proactive problem solvers.
The unfortunate dude moving out of my house had the opposite experience with a different moving company, which made me 10 0000x more thankful that I hired them. Thanks guys!

Great moving company that came recommended by my current roommate! Big Leprachaun was kind enough to move all of my bedroom from one top floor apartment to another top floor apartment in about 2.5 hours (pretty great time). They even took apart my bed and put it back together perfectly. None of my belongings were damaged – unlike horror stories I’ve heard about other moving companies. I will definitely be using Big Leprachaun for future moves! Thank you guys!

This review has taken almost year to write, because I rarely write reviews. But I am searching for movers again this month and bumping into this profile on Unilocal brought back bad memories of last year’s experience.
The team of 2 movers took twice as long as the initial estimated time. I have no idea what took them so long. We have a 2bd apt and moved 12 miles away. We had normal amount of furniture. Nothing too big, too heavy or complicated. The entire move took 10.5 to 11 hours! The initial quote over the phone was 5 – 6 hours. We stayed in our apartment but also moved items to the elevator to speed up the process. The guys seemed to disappear for long periods of time. At the end of the day, when they charged us over $ 1000, I asked them why it took so long, they said I should have asked for 3 guys and were not at all nice about it. They did not provide any decent explanation of why they would be at the truck for long streches of time, besides saying that they had to organize things in a certain order in the truck.
I suppose the one star is because I did not notice any damage to my belongings.
Based on their 5-​star review status, it seems that I got one or two bad apples from the bunch. I hope they have either trained those guys better or gotten rid of them. Either way, I am too afraid to try my luck with this company.
If you still hire this company, please do yourself a favour and ask for a written quote and «Not to exceed» amount. Good luck moving!

These guys were absolutely awesome! They made what is usually an awful and painful process into a breeze for us! They are total pros.
We moved from the upper Market area of SF to San Rafael in Marin County. The price was reasonable-​they took apart all of our furniture and put it all back together at our new spot.
Renato, Liam & Cillian saved the day for us an made out move quick and painless.

It’s been almost 3 months since I moved and I still haven’t gotten resolution on an expensive desk that I watched them drop in the foyer of my building. They actually took my drawer (which was the most broken part) promising to come back with the drawer repaired and supplies to fix the rest of the desk that they damaged. That was two months ago. I’ve emailed and called repeatedly and heard nothing. Now I have a damaged desk with no drawer and I’ve heard zip from these guys after they promised the world and actually took my property under the auspices of fixing it.
This was all after they showed up late, didn’t have packing supplies like we talked about (I had to go buy supplies for them), and then they ended up charging me way more for that time because it took so long to pack. They also dropped several boxes of glassware, scratched an expensive dining table, and lost one of my shelves.
I’ve used other movers before and never had this kind of problem. The guys moving my stuff were nice enough (if clumsy) but when something went seriously wrong, their supposed «insurance» is nowhere to be found, and neither are they. Definitely avoid these guys at all costs if you value good customer service and reliable delivery.

I’ve lived in the Bay Area for 12 years, and my latest move with Big Leprechaun was my 9^th move. The move with Big Leprechaun was the worst move I’ve had in 12 years.
The short of it: they are unprofessionally managed, untrustworthy, and the crew did ok (but not great) work.
The long of it: this was a move from SF to Burlingame. It took 9.5 hours to move a 1 bedroom, while their estimate was 5 – 7 hours (for a 2 man crew). The reason it took so long on the SF side was that the truck they brought was too long for the loading spot in front of the building and was encroaching on parking garage driveways. One of the residents complained and called an SF ticketing agent to have the truck moved or ticketed.
The crew dealt with the situation as best they could — they reparked the truck across the street. The issue was that they brought a truck that was too long. When I first booked the appointment, I explictly specified that the apartment building required a 20 foot truck. It’s written in the building move policy (which I also emailed to them). I asked: «Do you have a 20 foot truck?», they replied: «Yes.» I followed up: «Will all our stuff fit in a 20 foot truck?», they replied: «Yes.»
Pretty unequivocal.
Instead, they brought a 24 foot truck, which caused it to not fit the loading spot, which caused a delay of 1 – 1.5 hours. (The rest of the delay was caused by only having 1 elevator at the destination apartment, which I can understand.) I emailed after the move, asking for a partial refund of the extra time I paid for that was caused by their mistake. No response after a few days, so I called.
Their response: no, we will not refund anything. It wasn’t our fault. I explained that I was promised a 20 foot truck but a 24 foot truck was brought. Their response: we don’t even have 20 foot trucks, and have never used them.
So now, what I thought was an oversight on their part is looking like I was given deliberate misinformation in order to get me to sign up for the move with them. On top of this, no apology or admission of any mistake on their end. Unprofessional and untrustworthy management is the biggest problem I had with Big Leprechaun.
In terms of the crew — they mostly did an ok job, but nicked and scratched a few pieces and got lackadaisacal at the end. One of the crew members went back to the truck early and I had to finish lifting stuff with the other member. That same crew member bumped the bed frame into the elevator doorway because he was answering a phone call while lifting it. In terms of the damage — Big Leprechaun did say they would repair it, but they never followed up and actually did it. Even though the move took 9.5 hours (the longest move for a 1br I’ve ever done, by far), they left most of the boxes in the kitchen (for me and my recently pregnant wife to move to the right rooms), left the bed unassembled, and left big furniture pieces in crooked and misaligned positions.
They’re probably not the worst, but they definitely aren’t even close to the best (I’ve worked with other movers who are simply much better in every dimension). There are many other options for good movers in the Bay — I’d recommend you look to one of them first.

Moving Rule Number 1 — make sure your refrigerator will fit up the stairs when buying a new one.
Moving Rule Number 2 — get Big Leprechaun to handle it when you have to safely and quickly lift 600 lbs of metal and compressor over 2.5 backyards via crane into your house.
I had hired Big Leprechaun to get the large pieces of equipment up into my remodeled kitchen, giving them very little lead time. When Robbie called to tell that the refrigerator wouldn’t fit, he immediately arranged a solution that didn’t break the bank and was quick and fairly painless (not to mention just fun to watch). Sean the crane owner was very thoughtful about wrapping the refrigerator correctly so the compressor wasn’t going to be snapped off accidentally, and highly skilled in maneuvering his truck into a tight space.
I am looking forward to having them handle the rest of the actual move into the house — they were careful about not scuffing walls, very coordinated and mindful of safely lifting very heavy pieces, and so pleasant with the best positive attitude, it took a lot of weight off my overloaded mind! Robbie immediately got back to me for every call and found the most cost effective solution to a very large problem, because swapping out equipment would have been a bigger headache, given lead times, kitchen cabinets etc.
You can’t go wrong with this company!

Don’t look at other movers and book these guys immediately.
We lived in a pretty brutal walk up in BERNAL (aka hill-​landia) and Ricky, Declan and Derek showed up and just got down to business FAST and had our entire apt moved in under four hours. On top of that, they were total class acts and incredibly nice and helpful, always asking to do more than they even needed to. They kept everything in perfect shape and were super helpful with our new apartment and wouldn’t leave until we felt totally satisfied with the new place. Unreal to get that kind of service these days.
Recommend without ANY hesitation. Best in the business as far as we’re concerned.

Ricky, Ed, Max, and Mike came promptly on a Tuesday morning in June. They were quick into action. It took them roughly over an hour to haul the hundred boxes into the truck, among them an over 200# glass top desk, two 4’Wx6’H lacquer bookshelves, living room and dining room and bedroom furniture.
Upon arriving the new home, they quickly determined the most efficient solution for the move is to give up the elevator but to climb the steps at the back side of the building. In no time, item after item were carried into the unit and they placed them according with every instruction. Regardless how many plan changings, there were always a smile in their face. At whole time, they were polite and courteous!
One quick note I would also like mentioning is their attentions to details. The weather was misty on the day we were doing the move. Once they realized the unit has brand new carpet installed, they lined the premise with moving blankets on all pathways. Assuring a zero chance of leaving marks on the floor.
The entire move took 5 hours. Not one minute was wasted. Big Leprechaun is highly recommended. I will recommend them to everyone I know! Woohoo, Big L!
