Pro: cute décor and celia is approachable and nice. Lots of different packages to choose from and prices are reasonable.
Con: packages include multiple vendors and do not dispose vendors until confirmation of payment. Packages can be an ease because it may include everything a bride needs or a nightmare because it includes vendors unknown until booking.

Everything is just too vague. Includes photos but it doesn’t say who takes the photos. Is it going to be a pro, a film student, an amateur, a monkey? Seems like she’s making a little bit offer each vendor referral. It’s the vendors that are willing to take a cut, not the best vendors.

I hired Celia as our wedding planner and wedding designer for our wedding in the St. Regis SF. Celia is awesome and so easy to work with. Planning a wedding can be very hard and requires lots of work. Having Celia there definitely takes down the pressure from me. She gave me a lot of good suggestions in terms of process, venue/​vendor selections, and venue decorations. Unlike the other wedding planners, Celia never pushed me to get any of the services/designs…She worked with me. She listened to my ideas and implemented my ideas into the big picture. At the same time, she also provided me with her insider suggestions which makes the whole planning process easier Celia is also very quick in responding emails and questions. She went with us to check on venue and communicated to the venue manager on behalf of us. She did an amazing job on our flower designs. We received lots of positive comments from our guests. I highly recommend Celia and her team!

We hired Celia and her assistant, Chacy, for our wedding in the Bay. They executed in a very timely manner and I’m sure handled many things behind the scenes that I’m still not aware of! Their services included floral, tea ceremony, general coordination, some event décor, organizing the dance (hiring DJ, décor of room). The flowers were amazing! Celia is friendly and easy to work with. I would definitely recommend her to friends in the area looking for Chinese aspects in their wedding.

We hired big day service again at earlier this month for our baby’s 100^th day family celebration banquet at Zen Peninsula. Everyone loved the photo backdrop and our reception table so much… =)

Our wedding was this past weekend. Hiring Celia for our wedding decorations was the best decision we’ve made. My wife and I wanted to do an Asian banquet to accommodate a large number of guest. What was most important to us was that the restaurant would not look tacky and «chinese”-like. You all know what I mean — the red dragon and phoenix on the wall, the fish tanks that are usually in the corner of the restaurant. We wanted all that stuff to be covered up.
From our 1^st meeting with Celia, she knew exactly what we wanted. We planned our wedding last minute, but Celia was still able to work with our tight timeline.
Her team arrived on the day of the wedding exactly as promised and finished right on time. My wife and I were amazed when we walked into the restaurant. The decorations were beautiful and our guests were very impressed.
Celia is very personable and easy to talk to. We loved working with her.

Hiring Celia was one of the best decisions I’ve made when planning my wedding. She is so patient and responsive to my many many many many changes throughout the planning process. She also contributed great ideas such as adding our picture to the photo strip, and taking the initiative to decorate our reception table when I didn’t have to foresight to do it myself. Celia and her assistant, Salema, are the best! I hired Celia as my day-​of-​coordinator and she delivered everything I had expected and more. She’s very responsive and always willing to help. My husband and I are very happy we chose her over another coordinator we met with!
Celia is on it with communication and making sure everything runs according to plan. She helped me with creating a strict timeline and stick with it. I had also dismissed my bridal party early to go help Celia with setting up the reception space, but she was already almost done when we arrived! And insisted that they didn’t need help.

Big Day Service did an amazing job decorating our rehearsal dinner!
We originally didn’t plan on having much done for the event, since it was only for a few hours and about 40 guests, but it’s a once in a lifetime event! :) We left it up to Celia, designer and owner, to completely surprise us. Oh boy, were we surprised… and our guests too! It was absolutely beautiful! Her and her team made the process completely seamless. All we had to do was show up.
The outdoor venue, beautiful waterfront, lacked of bit of personality. Big Day Service came in and made these gorgeous candle/​flower arrangements for the centerpieces that transformed the place into a romantic event.

This is an extremely late review about my wedding on 11/​15/​2014.
In my experience of planning my wedding with no professional planner, choosing the decorator/​florist was the most stressful part.
My husband and I had been to almost 15 different places all around the south bay to find the perfect person that also had reasonable prices.
We were actually almost considering a DIY wedding because we were losing hope: p
Fortunately, we FINALLY found Celia in San Francisco which was actually fairly close to our ceremony and reception location (compared to the other florists in our area).
She was so friendly and easy to work with. Unlike some other people who clearly only care about the money aspect of your wedding planning, she actually took interest in what we wanted and gave us her own ideas to add more of a personal touch.
Even though she had a baby on the way during that time, her and Andy were always prompt and professional with responding to our emails, calls, and meet ups in person.
They did such an amazing job the night before with the set up and the day of with the finishing touches that I was almost in tears when I saw how amazing everything looked when we showed up to our reception that day.
The bouquets were elegant, and the centerpieces were beyond amazing. All of our guests were coming up to us telling us how well of a job we did with choosing our centerpieces and décor.
I also loved how our venue provided stage lights that complemented Celia’s back drop sooo well.
We literally had the dream American wedding thanks to Celia and Andy.
There is no way Lionel and I could have made our reception as beautiful as they did if we would have done it on our own.

The LONG and DETAILED: After I booked my venue at Zen Peninsula, I knew I had to find a decorator. With numerous cards and flyers of one stop wedding shops, I decided on Big Day Service because of their unique designs and backdrops. Just look through their gallery and you’ll see that they are completely different from the usual «ugly (name) & (name) in cursive, sprinkled in glitter, backdrop.» Celia’s backdrops are just so stunning and creative.
After I emailed Big Day Service, Celia replied quickly and with answers to all my questions. When I first met with Celia, it was like we had been friends for years already. Just from that one meeting, I decided that Celia must be my decorator, I had no need to shop around, and if I did shop, it would be wasting my time. Celia listened to all of my specific needs, and color request, and since Celia is a wonderful one stop shop, she was able to fulfill them all, give me her tasteful opinions, thoughts, AND MORE!
I booked Celia early — a year in advance. I really did try to give myself time to shop around, but nahhh. Over the next few months, many new needs and questions came up. «Where would I get my cake? How would I get the cake there? I need to take engagement photos, can you help? Where can I get specific flowers? Boutonnieres for family members? My wedding wouldn’t look like „this“ would it? Who’s going to do my makeup? My hair? My family’s hair and makeup? I don’t want to buy a wedding dress, can I rent?» All of this plus more, while of course, trying to keep cost LOW. I emailed with Celia, texted with Celia, and she was ALWAYS, ALWAYS delighted to answer and offer me all the assistance she could before any kind of «bridezilla» came out.
A week before the wedding, Celia went over wedding day everything with me. Long detailed schedules, timing of everything: from when I wake up, to the photographer, videographer, arriving at my house, the groom’s house, setting up of the banquet, the whole shebang. Since Celia’s personality is always so lovely, I felt no nervousness about the decorations or operations of the day of my wedding. 1 – 2 Days before the wedding, MANY small last minute things came up (money box, ribbons, I needed this? What? Where can I get.?) OF COURSE, Celia — just handled it. No questions, no need for me to freak out.

The day of the wedding: Everything went just as scheduled, and when I arrived early at Zen Peninsula, it was spectacular. *SERIOUS JAW DROP* Celia and her crew were already done too, early! The backdrop she did was, of course, amazing and beautiful. Nobody else has a giant double happiness like she does. The cloths she used on the backdrop and head tables were so princess-​like, not tacky at all. Each of the boutonnieres for family members were impeccable, about 45 of them. The 5 groomsmen’s boutonnieres and 5 bridesmaid’s bouquets, were of the flowers and colors I requested, absolutely pretty. My bouquet was exquisite! All the flowers still lively too. I visited my parents a few days after the banquet and they had their boutonnieres on the counter, which STILL looked good. They also had the bridesmaid’s bouquets in vases which blossomed beautifully.
I couldn’t believe that Zen Peninsula was Zen Peninsula after all of Celia’s work. The fish tank was completely covered, lighting was elegant and classy, and with 27 tables, it wasn’t cramped at all. Celia definitely catered to all of my request and needs. The place was just stunning, I can still picture it very clearly in my mind. I’m glad the photographers took pictures of the restaurant, so I can look at them over and over again because I still can’t believe how gorgeous everything was.
After the wedding, Celia did contact me to see how things were and to follow up. Celia is one of the sweetest, most creative, people I have met. Her work is absolutely THE BEST. I can tell Celia truly loves what she does, and understands that when it’s your «big special day,» she really will try her best to make it your special day.

Celia and her team at BDS are SUPER talented. Celia was one of the last vendors I hired for my wedding. I had already hired a drapery and uplighting crew, but I knew I needed some floral design to help complete the decorations.
I REFUSED to pay for real flowers at my wedding because I knew it could be pricey and they would just die. My bouquet was even a broach bouquet. My centerpieces were wine bottles and candles. I looked for alternative for flowers, and that when I ran into BDS on Unilocal.I saw their photos, and I can see that BDS did all sorts of different decorations, not just floral. I saw pictures of their paper flowers and columns, and I knew I wanted her to help me out to complete the finishing touches I needed for my wedding decorations.
What I LOOOOOVE about Celia (besides her talent for decorating) is the fact that she’s so accommodating, and she is very quick to respond. It was so easy to communicate to her my vision of the wedding, and what I needed from her. We communicated a couple of times by phone, but mostly via email (using PowerPoint). I actually never met her until days after the wedding. I gave Celia ideas with pictures, and she provided me her opinion and suggestions.
Feedback from my other vendors… Both the event manager at my venue and my day of coordinator came back to me with nothing but positive reviews about BDS. They told me things like, «Where did you find Celia? She is amazing. She came in with her team and ready to get things done quickly, and the things she made with the paper flowers was so cool.»
I was VERY detailed with my wedding. Celia executed every finite detail that I wanted from her, and she stuck to the schedule that I laid out. Celia was probably one of my favorite vendors! I enjoyed working with her as I planned my wedding.
I recommend BDS because the team is excellent. They are not only very talented with decorations, but very accommodating to your style and vision of the wedding, they are quick to work, can work easily with other vendors, excellent with communication, and just an overall positive team of people. I hired Celia as my florist, decorator and day-​of coordinator for my wedding on ⁷⁄₂₆. With that being said, she has many hats to wear but miraculously she and her team were able to pull everything off flawlessly!
