Benson Tam Chiropractic

Benson is a great Chiropractor. He is one of the few chiropractors in the area who can get my back moving consistently. Strong adjusters are hard to find these days and he is one of them. I would highly recommend him for your Chiropractic choice. FYI, I’m a retired Chiropractor.

I have been diagnosed with TMJ and I had it for a few years now. After coming here, my jaw has improved a lot. I have been in pain with my jaw muscles for quite some time now and Benson helps relieve the tension that it has been causing! He works on my back and neck as well! Amazing job and he takes great care of you :)

I’ve read raving reviews so I was looking forward to my session. But with this first experience, I’m very disappointed.
I called earlier in the week and spoke with Benson or a male staff member — scheduled an appointment for Friday @ 2:30pm. I confirmed the date/​time with him. I picked him because he’s only a couple blocks from my house.
Then, I show up on Friday at the schedule time… and the office is closed!
I call the number to doublecheck if I had the right office and right time. A female picked up the phone and I confirmed with her that he’s only at this location on Mon, Wed, Fridays so I DID come on the right day. She mentioned that he’s moving to a new house so he closed his office today.
At least call your patients to reschedule so they don’t show up at a closed-​lights off-​office. Very unprofessional. Very disappointing. What if I had to take the day off to come to this appointment?
I’m not even sure if I would give this office another chance if they can’t get their scheduling right.

Been seeing Dr. Tam for 2 mos and highly recommend. When I first showed up, my right neck/​shoulder was in serious sharp pain. The tiniest movements would send sharp pains down my neck and right arm. With a regular regimen of treatments at his office and regular stretching, I’m probably 90% fixed. Went from not being able to lift head up or ride a bike, to now just having occasional numbness in right arm. Big difference! Go see him. He’s professional and gets right to work. He can sort of «feel» where the pain is coming from.

I highly recommend Dr. Tam. He is a great communicator and is quick at pinpointing where the pain is originating from. After a few chiropractic adjustments and electrotherapies, my condition has improved substantially.
Scheduling with Dr. Tam is also extremely easy in-​person and over the phone. Best of all, if there are any late cancellations due to schedule conflicts, I can reschedule the appointment with no late fees.
In summary, Dr. Tam is a premier chiropractor who will fulfill your chiropractic needs.

Dr. Tam knows what he’s doing. You don’t need to tell him where you’re hurting, HE’LL tell YOU!
I definitely felt a significant difference in my body after just a few adjustments.
Dr. Tam provides you with ergonomic pillows, body braces, and even at-​home exercises to enhance the treatment/​speed up the healing process.
Scheduling is very flexible & easy, and the lovely receptionists at the front desk can help you do it via person or phone.

I have a brother and father who see Dr. Tam and I am just blown away at how they both found him separately. My brother has been going since 2010 and our dad has been going since a month ago. Both agree that they are much better off than when their injuries first occurred. Being a very concerned family member, I have extremely high standards when it comes to customer service, clear explanations and answers to my flurry of questions, and actual results. Well, Dr. Tam and his staff have delivered them with ease and patience and I continue to grow respect for his expertise and effectiveness. I came in with back pains not expecting much. Dr. Tam told me the process and the treatments I would be going through. Needless to say my back pain was disappearing more and more each time I went in. I would not go to any other chiropractor in the Bay Area! Really friendly and kindhearted.

I always feel 100 percent better after visiting Dr. Tam. I hurt my lower back and with regular treatment from Dr. Tam I was able to continue being active and pain free. He knows what he’s doing and knows how to communicate issues to patients in a way that is educational and easy to understand. Having exercised regularly for many years, I ended up with tendonitis of both inner elbows (a.k.a. golfers elbow; and oddly I do not golf). Although not working out (specifically pull-​ups) for over 6 months, the elbow pain did not improve. After visiting a UCSF elbow specialist, the doctor suggested that I just not do pull-​ups (as this is the exercise that triggers the sharp pain). The doctor indicated that my pain was not serious enough for surgery; in essence, I was to live with the nagging mild/​sharp inner elbow pain (e.g. felt when washing head/​face, lifting luggage, etc).
A few month’s later, per a friend’s recommendation, I visited Dr. Tam just to give chiropractic treatment a try. During my first visit, we discussed my elbow condition; and Dr. Tam performed ultrasound therapy on both elbows, and oddly massaged firmly only my right elbow. Thinking that he may have just forgotten to do the left elbow, I was surprised that the very next day, my right elbow started feeling better. As opposed to a sharp pain, I only felt a more widespread dull ache on the elbow. It was the best my right elbow had felt in over a year after only one visit?!?
When I visited Dr. Tam again 2 days later, I told him that I was «surprised» that my right elbow was feeling better; and that my left elbow had not improved. He then told me he specifically only worked on my right elbow last visit so that I could feel the difference!
Over the course of 5 weeks, I visited Dr. Tam 3x a week for 30 minute sessions. The office is a bit disheveled; and can use some newer magazines… but if you’re there for the treatment, it’s good enough. Moreover, parking has never been an issue for me at the Belmont office — he has an SF office also.
If you want a professional and tell-​you-​as-​it-​is chiropractor, Dr Benson Tam is your man! Still, the left elbow has been slower to fully recover than my right elbow; however, both feel much better as a result of Dr Tam. I look forward to continued visits; but at a much reduced frequency — per his recommendation.

Dr Tam is an amazing chiropractor who knows what he is doing. I came to him with a bad back and muscle spasms that were terrible. Over the course of the next month, he was able to help me feel as normal as I can be. I am very glad I was able to find him (and through Unilocal of all places). I recommend him if you have any body aches and pains that you want to work on.

When I came to see Dr. Tam, my neck, left shoulder, and left arm were in pain. The pain was constant and becoming incapacitating. Using a combination of therapies, Dr. Tam saw me initially 3 times a week, and tapered off as I got better. I did get better. There is now no pain in my shoulder, back, or arm. I didn’t think that was possible. Dr. Tam is a professional, who knows what he’s doing. I recommend him highly, and with great enthusiasm.

I have been seeing Dr. Tam for a few months now. I had chronic neck and back pain for many years. My neck pains and headaches, are almost completely gone now. My lower back is still being worked on, but has improved substantially. I have regained my range of motion with my neck and back, which has helped tremendously during day to day activity. Bonnie the receptionist is amazing too: o)

I went to Benson on a recommendation from someone who has been doing high-​intensity contact sports for twenty years. Benson diagnosed the problem on the spot — and later backed up his prognosis with X-​rays. Having hip problems, lower back pain, and twisted vertebrae in my neck, Benson was able to begin treatment right away and I felt better after the first session. The office was very flexible with scheduling needs and the front desk person, Bonnie, was incredibly friendly!

I’ve been going to Dr. Tam for about a month. The schedule is very accommodating for those of us who only have a chance to come in after work or on the weekend. They are very flexible with scheduling and the care appears to be on par with or above and beyond any other therapists in the area. It’s also very conveniently located for those of us living in the central richmond area.

Love this chiropractor! Im always late and just go in when i can and they always accommodate me. The staff is very welcoming and will gladly recommend him to everyone!

Dr. Tam’s passion for his patient’s well-​being is obvious and because of that I will recommend him to anyone who has the unfortunate bouts with back or neck pain.
Having just experienced some of the worst back spasms and pain of my life, I ducked in last minute, about forty minutes before closing time to meet Dr. Tam and feel a lot more confident about my road to feeling better.
As an excellent communicator, Dr. Tam patiently heard me out without rushing. He explained in great detail his findings of my evaluation and laid out a plan of action for my first treatment. Within about forty minutes I left feeling much better not only physically but mentally. Knowing that there is some plan of action going forward and a good doctor like Dr. Tam has my back, literally, has me feeling a whole lot better.
I would like to thank him and his staff for being very accommodating to me even as I went just before closing time. I have a good feeling I am going to get much better sleep than I did last night.

Dr. Tam is very professional. Hes very knowledgeable with what needs has to be done on my back and neck pain. I came here because i had a car accident and this is my first time ive seen a chiropractor. Hes very awesome; and usually at night i suffer pain from car accident; it was very hard for me to sleep. good thing i’ve met Dr. Tam who can help me in my problem. They open late and have a very flexible schedule since im working and live in daly city and i only take the bus from work. I would recommend this to everyone especially to my family and friends…

I had issues with dizziness caused by a diagnosed blocked eustachian tube. I was on nasal steroids for a year with so so results. My right ear still felt blocked after the steroids and I had lost about 80% of my hearing in my right ear along with the occasional dizziness when my neck was in certain positions.
The doctors were going to send me to an ENT for further diagnosis but I somehow felt it was a different matter and not my ear. I decided to try Dr. Tam based one what I read from his website.
Dr. Tam’s prices are reasonable, he listens and cares. I also appreciate the kindness of the office staff. Some comments were that he is nosy but I appreciate that, especially if he is going to be your doctor. For me he has gotten to the root of my problem. Very informed and welcoming along with his assistant. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr Tam.

I have been going to Dr Tam for a couple months now, although not as regularly as I need to. My situation has built up over many years and Dr Tam has been very clear in his education of my situation and what treatment would be best. It has not been an overnight improvement, but I do feel much better with each visit. Gradually, I’m seeing good results which is what I ultimately wanted and expected.
I like his straight shooter attitude and direction in treatment.
