This property management company is TERRIBLE, especially Lori, the assistant manager. It is not surprising they have so many bad reviews: they don’t even respond to the homeowners and landlord, so probably worse to the tenants. STAYAWAY!

It is my opinion that this company charges property owners for services they did not preform, or is marking up services by 20−50% without notifying property owners — Some call this misleading, others call this fraud. They charge premium prices for their services and provide below average property management services.

Don’t do work for these people, as they have you do the work and then refuse to pay.

Lindsay over at Bay Area West Property Management responded to my request for having my door fixed and had someone out literally within about five minutes. Once again, superior service from these ladies. I am very happy.

A horrible HOA management company that shouldn’t be in business. They never answer the phone, if you leave a message they will never call you back. I would share more details but unfortunately they are still managing my building.

As a property management company, Bay West provides A-level service. They have incredible attention to detail, immediate service, and they’re always happy to help. Major projects go off without a hitch, they find competitive quotes, and finish on time. If there are emergencies, they’re right on it, even when I had to call on Christmas eve for a roof leak. All this, and the staff is extremely friendly and professional to work with. I’ve been serving on the HOA Board for 8 years, and their service just continues to get better. It’s been a pleasure to work with them.

I had to wait until Bay West Property Management was terminated from management of our building before sharing my honest views. In the short time we have worked with them we found their personnel to be argumentative, avoidance driven, retaliatory, highly unprofessional and at times downright untruthful. My advise is avoid them if at all possible. With so many mediocre property management firms in SF, why accept this kind of poor service?

Bay West is awful. I’m a homeowner at 255 Berry, and dealing with them has been miserable. When we were buying our condo, we needed them to fill out a condo certification form, which is a standard form to get a mortgage. It took 7 phone calls and 5 emails to finally order the form — they were obviously impossible to get in touch with and didn’t return calls. When we finally talked to them, they said that they were busy with other things and that it may take up to two weeks to get the form. We had to pay for rush delivery because a two week turnaround would have made us lose the condo. Our board has also had problems with them executing tasks when asked. Unfortunately, though, I’m not sure there’s any good property managers out there. If you are one, please contact our board.

Are these guys still in business? Good lord, they need to look for new work. Have heard another heinous story from another renter in the 255 Berry Building I lived in two years ago. Yikes, nightmare. Step away from the management company!

I rented a 1br in inner richmind from bay west for over a year. I’m a no-hassle renter and all I really expect is the same from the rentee ;) I only dealt with Susan Q. from the company the entire time, and she was great. Always responsive and very friendly. I also arranged to do my own cleaning upon moving out and was refunded my entire security deposit plus interest. I would definitely do business again in the future.
