A bassist for 14 years, but a musician from birth. I’ll teach you some concepts that will get you started on the right path, or give you a new perspective on what you already know. Want to learn how to play the bass for the first time? Have a desire to learn other concepts such as music theory, improvisation, or advanced technique? My method is easy going and always fun!

I enjoy teaching students of all ages from beginner to advanced levels. I specialize in the genres of Funk, Blues, R&B, Jazz, Soul, Hip Hop, Rock, Pop, Metal, Latin, Classical, Country, Electronica and more! Learning about music is an exciting adventure that has no boundaries. My studio is fully equipped with only the best gear for you to enjoy.

History

Established in 2004.

Since graduating the University of Colorado, George moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to pursue his love for music and teaching. He always valued those that have taught him and wanted to pass the knowledge on to others. He started teaching private lessons in 2004 and eventually group classes and larger ensembles. Since then, he has taught hundreds of students of all ages and skill levels, that music is fun and exciting. Today, Make Music With George gives students many opportunities to not only play Bass, but to say something, musically.

George has provided students, of all ages, with a realization that anyone can play music. His background as a teacher, and a performer, gives him the ability share over two decades of experience with his students.

He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master in Music degree from the Berklee College of Music. Over the past few years he’s been a guest Instructor at Summer UCamps, Performing Arts Camp for Students grades 3 – 12. He has studied personally with world renowned Victor Wooten and has been nominated for a Grammy in 2008 for bass performance on Blues Legend John Lee Hooker Jr’s Album «All Odds Against Me». Since 2006 he has toured internationally in Europe, Central America, Africa, Caribbean Islands, Scandinavia, Canada, and North America, sharing the stage with B.B.King, Lenny Kravitz, ZZ Top, and more.

George currently resides in San Francisco where he teaches bass guitar, performs with various artists, and directs his band, The George Lacson Project.
