Description

Specialties

Smart Sourced IT is a Managed Service Provider (MSP) serving companies with 10 – 200 employees in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our support philosophy emphasizes prevention of IT issues rather than reacting to IT emergencies, and we do this through ongoing systems monitoring, regular software updates, antivirus/malware scans, and remote backups. When expert help is needed, our support desk is a phone call or email away.

Our white glove IT service delivers:

— Peace of mind — 247 systems monitoring and backup

— Less downtime — Our focus is «prevention» rather than «fire fighting»

— Predictable Costs — Everything for a flat monthly fee

We work best with clients who:

— Understand the impact on their time from downed IT systems

— See technology as an enabler of greater efficiency and productivity

— Desire a partnership with a trusted technology advisor

History

Established in 2009.

We started operations in San Francisco in January 2009, as a sole proprietorship under the name «The IT Guy». At that time, the focus was on delivering proactive, white glove service to very small businesses (less than 5 staff) and home-based users. By March 2012, the decision was made to transition the from the Break/Fix (aka «Time & Materials») model to Managed Services. The IT Guy was renamed Smart Sourced IT and incorporated in the State of California, where the bulk of clients exist. During this transition, we began investing heavily in IT systems that allow the remote monitoring of computers, servers and networks, allowing us to snuff out problems before they become full-blown crises. These systems also allow us to automate basic tasks, such as updating software on a fleet of computers, and are today a key tenet of our our preventive maintenance philosophy.

Meet the Business Owner

Raffi P.

Business Owner

Raffi’s interest in computers began at the young age of 9, when he took a programming class. Soon thereafter, he was managing his dad’s inventory tracking and order management database, a system he created from scratch. A Bachelors and Masters degree later, and 12 years of experience in the corporate world, helped Raffi become intimately acquainted with business process improvement and mapping techniques, and the application of these techniques to IT systems to simplify user’s lives.

Raffi’s believes computers are tools that should enhance productivity; every hour an end-user spends dealing with an IT problem (themselves) equals several hours of lost productivity. He takes an agnostic approach to computer brands, operating systems, and cloud ecosystems, while also emphasizing the need to select technologies that are interoperable.
