Bare

I really like this place. I always book on-​line with such ease, appointments are on-​time, and the space is always immaculately clean. I’ve done spray-​tanning, waxing, and tinting, and have always been pleased with the services. The staff is friendly enough and on some occasions offer wine, water, or tea. Prices are fair, maybe a few dollars steeper than other local spots, but given the above, I’ll continue taking my primping needs to Bare!

I’ve been getting brazilians since I was 16 and I have never found a waxer I like more than Sam. This girl will legit do a perfect brazilian in under 15 minutes. She will also keep you laughing the entire time.
I also only get my spray tans done by her and people consistently comment on how good they look. They come out the perfect shade without the fake Troll Doll orange look.
The salon itself is impressive. It’s always clean/​cute and they serve complementary wine… what more can you ask for…

Erika is by far the best waxer! Being 8 months pregnant, it’s hard enough to muster the energy to go get waxed but Erika makes its a breeze. I wouldn’t trust anyone else! Can’t recommend her enough!

The staff are always really friendly, I usually end up with a big grinning my face on the way out. Not what you usually expect after a trip to the waxing lady ;) the ambience is chic– complete with fairy garden like swinging chair. Not the cheapest place to go that’s for sure, but convenient to home and good quality service.

Pretty unhappy that I booked an appointment online and although the person I chose was confirmed, they bumped me because someone called in and requested the same person at the same time after my request. I don’t exactly have a problem being bumped but a heads up to let me know that it changed and that I would be assigned a VERY new person instead would have been nice. Instead I paid the same amount as I would have for someone who was more seasoned.
I should have just walked away as soon as I realized that I got the new person but with my limited availability to re-​schedule, I decided to just go with it. My unibrow wishes I would have chosen otherwise.

this place is excellent. For a man that would like tamed eyebrows and a clean appearance this place is perfect! They did such a great job on my eyebrows I took the plunge and had my nose hairs done as well! 5 stars for sure!

Having had a few less than desirable experiences with recent wax services in the city, was beyond thrilled when I came across Bare. Their salon is clean, welcoming and provides a number of services. Friendly staff will definitely go back!

I was looking for a new salon to get a Brazilian wax done, as it was hard to get later appointments at my regular salon with my new work schedule. I decided on Bare due to the glowing Unilocal reviews, availability of a late evening weeknight appointment, and because it would be something I could knock out right after my doctor’s appointment. Well, thank baby Jesus that this was my destination!
I’ve passed by the salon a few times before and always loved the fact that they had a pool table in the lobby. I also found that they have a great retail area, a lovely garden-​like lounge that includes a wooden bench that swings, and a flat screen TV that plays one of my fave movies, Mean Girls! You also get offered a glass of wine upon check-​in. Who could ever turn that down, especially when anticipating some ouchies? Come on ladies, a Brazilian wax can be like a bad day at the dentist, except down there (Sorry for that uncomfortable visual)!
My aesthetician was Savannah and she was so friendly and chatty and made sure no spot was left hairy. She also offered some personalized aftercare tips on moisturizing and exfoliating. What made the waxing experience different from ones I’ve had at other salons is that they offered numbing spray without extra cost to the service. I never knew how much less painful a Brazilian wax could be by using it, like pain level 3 on a scale from 1 to 10. The music the room played was also fun and upbeat and not that super serious zen stuff.
I will definitely come back here for my next wax! Thank you Savannah and Bare staff — you have a loyal new client in me!

I’ve been here a few times for eyebrow waxes and eyelash extensions and I absolutely love both! Natasha does my eyebrows and she is so precise and they come out perfect and not too thin every time. She is so fun and outgoing and I recommend her to all my friends.
For eyelashes I’ve gone to Angela twice and have loved how they turned out both times so far. My eyelashes looks fuller and longer but not so much so that they look blatantly fake. She does a great job of making sure my eyelashes look natural but with just a little extra :)

It’s funny how when life gets so busy you forget to have proper me time… I used to come here regularly for Brazilian and brow waxing. When I finally signed into my account I was horrified to see my last appointment was over two years ago!
Well, things haven’t changed much here at Bare — even though my previous waxologist Eboni is no longer on staff, the ladies are still as welcoming and skilled as ever. Angela took care of me today and good lord she’s a waxing ninja! Fastest Brazilian wax ever — but clean and as comfortable as could be — my follicles didn’t even have time to realize what happened to them
I work in the neighborhood now so I was given a merchant discount (awesome surprise) and I was also recommended an excellent post wax roll on treatment to help with ingrowns.
It’s good to be back — I promise I won’t be a stranger! Thank you Angela and Bare — see you again in a few weeks!

Bare is my go to waxing place here in the city! Super nice staff love the ladies. Great services, and while you wait you can have a glass of wine (I def take advantage of that– tipsy + waxing is better than sober). I usually have Brazilian and legs done here. They do have bath products as well — tried their loofa.

Savannah is THE GREATEST. Super friendly and keeps the conversation going so I’m nice and distracted the entire time. That said, her waxing is as close to painless as I’ve found and she’s the only person I’ve gone back to a second, third, fourth, fifth time. (And I’ll keep coming back!)
The $ 55 deal for returning within 6 weeks is also awesome.

this review is for Kayte. She has been my go to girl for all of my waxing needs. She is always so genuine, friendly, and makes me feel at ease. She has perfected my brows, and always makes my brazilian wax experiences quick and painless. She also provided me with facial products that I use daily, and a salicylic acid product that has worked wonders post brazilian. I always have a great experience with Kayte and highly recommend her. I hope to get a spray tan from her soon for an upcoming wedding I am in!

This is my first time having a brazilian wax in SF. This place is amazing. Very nice customer service! My therapist was Natalie. She is great! great! Great! Only took her less than 15 mins to get it done and with the least pain ive ever felt. Best of all, they have voucher from livingsocial and i got 25 $ discount. From 65 $ to 40 $. Best brazilian wax place ever!

Loved the aestheticians at Bare, especially Savannah. I also agree with other Unilocalers that this is hands down the best place to get a wax. It’s the only place I don’t leave looking flushed with red sploches. Normally, I would give Bare a solid 5.
However, I ‘m docking 2 stars for the rude receptionist I had to deal with when I when in for an appointment on Sunday. She was on the phone when I walked in with my bf and didn’t even acknowledge us (even though she was looking right at me). I stood there waiting for a good 8 minutes, and even mouthed to her that I was here for an appointment. After almost 15 minutes of waiting, when the receptionist finally got off of the phone, she took her time to locate my appointment and then claimed she could not find the brow wax appointment I made via their online system for the bf. Savannah had to step in and ask another aesthetician to do the brow waxing so we can actually leave on time for our brunch reservation. Perhaps it’s time for Bare to re-​define what is customer service to their front desk staff?

I love this place! Just came in for my first time and I love the décor. The swinging hammocks, pool table, greenery, and open space. They serve complimentary wine which is great before a brazilian ;) Natalie was my waxer and she was so fast and nice! She also did my airbrush tan and I was really pleased. I got a medium tan but I really wish I got a little darker. It did turn out really natural and event but I could have went up a level. It has been almost one week and it is starting to fade, so it doesn’t stay on that long. Either way, I will back. Much better then Stript Waxing bar up the street!

Five stars for Bare! Most recently, I was super impressed that they offered a New Year special of 3 Brazilians for just $ 99. That’s unheard of anywhere in SF. Even without the deal, repeat pricing is $ 55 if you come back within 6 weeks of your last appointment.
Yvonn is my go-​to girl, and I find that I can relax and have a conversation, even laugh, with her each time I go in. I’ve also had positive experiences with Deanna.
Bare uses hard wax, and then regular wax + cloth strips for those more stubborn areas. They also provide numbing spray before the service.
Super quick, as painless as can really be possible, plus they offer a glass of wine to help relax beforehand. Also love that you can book appointments via the MindBody app on your iPhone (for some reason, my office blocks their website!).

I want to update my review of this place ask the gal I used to go to, Ebony, is gone. So I now go to Natalie Magnasen who is AWESOME! LOVE HER EVEN MORE. She does an amazing job.

First time experience and I absolutely loved it! I was randomly looking for deals on living social and found Bare’s wax deal so I purchased it. I called to make an appointment and was given one right away. The lady that treated me was very kind her name is Natalie. She was quick and made me feel very comfortable since it was my first time. She explained everything to me and what I was going to feel. I was nervous but it was so fast it didn’t give me much time to think of the pain. The pain itself was not as much as I expected but I guess I’ll get use to. Lol pain is beauty I guess. I will definitely go again I think I have found a perfect waxing place. Now to try them out for all the other wax services they offer. Thank you Natalie for a great experience. See u in 4 weeks! :)

Bare rocks!
I never thought I could review the ambiance of a waxing studio, but seriously — Bare wins the award. They have the most inviting space I’ve seen, better than most high end salons or spas. They have a pool table right in front and some super cute and cozy seating areas while you wait. Added bonus — they even offer complimentary wine before your service!
I saw Yvonne and she gets 5 stars as well. Super easy to chat with in my «vulnerable» state and she had a very painless technique. Definitely found my go-​to spot in SF!
