The Bacon Bacon food truck was at Bottlerock Napa this past weekend. We enjoyed the Double Double cheeseburger, so good!!!

Worst service, worst wait time I’ve ever experienced. 40 minute wait for French fries. Are you kidding me? This place is a disgrace.

I love bacon, but the sandwich I got from this food truck was disappointing to say the least. The bacon was good but the overcooked veggies they stuffed in there ruined it. It was also fairly expensive for what I would consider pub food, bacon was good, but would not recommended.

I had the Breakfast Sandwich — bacon, fried egg, cheddar, bacon jam between a toasted seeded brioche bun. There were about 3 strips of slightly crispy, thick, chewy bacon. Bacon is great and hard to screw it up but it just didn’t impress. The egg was still a little runny, which I do generally prefer eggs cooked softer but not in a sandwich. After biting into it exploded and sent a tiny stream of yolk down the side of my cheek. The bacon jam was a vaguely sweet BBQ like shredded pork consistency. The food’s just okay, if lazy and resting on the bacon concept and hype. I’ve had tastier breakfast sandwiches at the airport. Maybe I came during a bad time but my friend and I ordered and waited 30(me) –40 mins(him) before we got our orders. Many people who ordered after us received theirs first, maybe they were making different items in batches? The people taking the orders at the truck aren’t the most enthusiastic and were ambivalent to the long wait time.

I’ve only had one item at this truck, and it’s the bacon burrito loaded with pulled pork, fries, etc. For the price and the overall flavor, it was an OK experience for me. One thing for sure: no wait in line was a definite factor in my having made the decision to patronize! The way the burrito was made: already prepared beforehand. I asked for it to be reheated on the grill plate, and when biting into the burrito, found that the ratio of how they prepared it and rolled it lacked. Too much pulled pork(only) in one bite, too much bacon in another… wasn’t well rolled with equal proportions of filling througout. My friend’s burrito from the Mx truck looked a whole lot more satisfying for me. Owner of this truck truly is friends with the Lardo guy up in Stumptown. It has been confirmed, cuz that’s what he told me in person when I was up there frequenting one of their food pods and the B&M place downtown.

Take-out on Sunday as I heard it gets crowded which was true around 11:30am. Ordered Bacon Breakfast Sandwich and BB Double Cheeseburger which were shared by two. The Sandwich egg yolk is messy as it ran all over hand/carton; the Cheeseburger was very tasty. Meal was filling and happy we finally tried it since you can’t go wrong with bacon!

Ordered the porky fries and the California bacon BBQ burrito. Took 30 minutes and there was hardly a wait. The woman in front of me only ordered fries and was also complaining about her wait. The man working the front provided very unfriendly service. Food was mediocre.

It’s been a long while since my last review of Bacon Bacon, which then I only tried a few of the items on their menu. Since then I’ve seen their truck menu expand and I’ve tried almost everything listed on it, which I’m glad to say that for the most part, their food is still up to par from the last review. Here’s the rundown all the menu items I’ve tried: Bacon Mac & Cheese Balls – Panko parmesan crust, cheddar, bacon, sriracha dipping sauce. These are actually new to the menu that got added just recently. What can I say? I’m a sucker deep fried Mac & Cheese Balls and with the addition of bacon just makes them all the more magical. Nice and crispy outside topped with cheddar sauce and gooey bacon mac & cheese inside. They give you four pieces per order, but I’m pretty sure in the future I’ll probably end up ordering more than four. The California Bacon Burrito – Pulled pork, crispy belly, bacon, French fries, coleslaw, BBQ sauce This is a very hearty burrito that just hits you hard with all things pork. It’s great with the tangy BBQ sauce and the addition of fries makes this a whole meal in itself. The Bacon Bacon Burger — All natural grass-fed beef, bacon, sauteed onions, cheddar, secret sauce What you see in the picture is actually a mini version of the Bacon Bacon Burger that I had at the Eat Real Festival not too long ago. I have had the full sized version, but haven’t taken a pic of it. For the most part, it’s a good burger. It’s cooked well, and it has everything that I like in a burger with cheddar, sauteed onions, and bacon, but it’s not one that I’d go out of my for. The Bacon Fried Chicken Sandwich – Panko & bacon encrusted chicken breast, coleslaw, bacon mayo Now I’ve had this sandwich twice, and the first time I had it, which on the menu sounded OMGYUM at the time, I didn’t really care to much about it because I thought the chicken was dry and overcooked. So fast forward a couple years later and I try it again hoping that was just a one-off and it’s gotten better. Well, unfortunately, it was still the same dry overcooked chicken that I had like last time. Sorry, this sandwich just doesn’t work for me. The Banh Mi – Pork & Bacon Patties, Pickled Veggies, Cilantro, Spicy Mayo This is another one of their sandwiches that really sounds interesting. Unfortunately for me, like the chicken sandwich, the Pork & Bacon patties were dry. The spicy mayo and bacon weren’t good enough to save this sandwich for me. Nice attempt at making a banh mi sandwich though. The Belly – Crispy Pork Belly, Fried Egg, Arugula, Caper Aoili This is probably my 2nd favorite sandwich from Bacon Bacon. It’s just loaded with huge pieces of pork belly and they add a runny fried sunny side up just for good measure. In essence, it’s a breakfast sandwich on that’s just awesome! Very delicious! As you can see, there have been some hits and misses for me with their menu. My favorite sandwich still is The Almost Veggie with Broccoli rabe, red peppers, bacon, provolone, sriracha aioli( ) but it’s not an everyday menu item so do keep a lookout for it. If you see it on the truck menu, I definitely recommend you try it! There are still some other signature items that I’d like to try like The Bacon Grilled Cheese, The Bird, and The Breakfast Burrito, but overall I still like what comes out from this truck. Bacon Bacon is still a truck worth visiting, even though it sounds like a novelty, you can’t go wrong with most of their food menu items. It’s worth a visit once in a while for me, and I hope to visit their brick and mortar shop someday since they have a few exclusive items there not served on their truck.

Effin shit. Been wanting to try this food truck for years! I’d watch Food Network and the Travel channel showcase this food truck and my mouth would water after watching all their delicious bacon-y products. Finally saw them on Tuesday’s Off The Grid @Serramonte Like Drake said, going up…#On a Tuesday. The supposed star of the show the DOUBLEBACONCHEESEBURGER($ 10). Beef patty cold and dry. Bacon cold. Bun cold. Everything cold. Fat congeals when cold, didn’t even finish the shitty burger. Fuck you Bacon Bacon. Hype shit. ( )

I found the Bacon Bacon truck in an Off the Grid event in Walnut Creek. Being a normal, pork loving male I was excited to give it a try! Lots of options on the menu and I went with the Taco Tuesday special and a side of pork rinds. The flavors were decent on the tacos. The were akin to pulled pork with some veggie toppings and crumbled bacon on top. Disappointing was the portion size. For $ 9 you get three tacos that were more like«taco sliders.» Two bites and gone. Maybe a 1⁄3 the size of street tacos you get on the corner for about $ 1.25. The pork rinds were tasty and made fresh. They had bacon salt on them to enhance the flavor and I enjoyed the bag as snacks for the next day or so. The only downside to Bacon Bacon was the lack of portion for dinner and price. Not to sound like a pig but after eating at Bacon Bacon I went to another food truck to get some dinner.

Utterly, supremely disappointed by the way the pork came out. I have always had a special place in my heart for food trucks but Bacon Bacon was a bleah bleah. THEBELLY(crispy pork belly, fried egg, spinach, caper aioli) — You know when you eat a bite of something and fat is dripping and gushed out in an uncontrollable amount? Well, that’s what you experience with the Belly. Aside from the oil glorification, the pork belly was super bland, overcooked, and dry(they did get the crispy factor down though AHA!). It was just a burger that tasted of fat. The only salvageable bit was the fried egg. Thankfully, it was was not overcooked and more of an eggs over easy. THEBACONFRIEDCHICKENSANDWICH(panko + bacon crusted chicken breast, bacon, cole slaw, bacon mayo) — One might expect a mouth explosion of bacon flava and flare with the bacon everywhere(damn, natural poet right here), but the BFC was not the case. The chicken breast was super dry… I’m sad to say that it would have been better if I wedged in a piece of Church’s chicken breast in place of Bacon Bacon’s fried chicken! THEPORKYFRIES(french fries, pork shoulder, belly, bacon bits, peppers) — This was just average. I’d rather save a few $ and get regular fries.

Every time I read the name of this truck, I always say it in my head using the Little Caesar’s pizza guy voice… PIZZAPIZZA. Okay, stupid opening comment aside, the food here is good. Not great, but good. I’ve been trying to visit as many food trucks as I possibly can. Unfortunately, some of the SF trucks don’t make it down to the South Bay as much as possible. Thankfully, Off The Grid started having events closer to us and I was able to try Bacon Bacon at the OTG: Sunnyvale gathering(usually every Thursday at the Sports Basement). Because we wanted to try other trucks, we split the Bacon Fried Chicken Sandwich. It’s made with Panko and Bacon-encrusted chicken, more bacon, cole slaw, and bacon mayo. Part of me is thinking, «that’s a lot of bacon!» But, part of me is also thinking, «why couldn’t they put bacon in the cole slaw?» Anyway, the sandwich was pretty good. But, not at the top of my list in terms of chicken sandwich(my top choice is hands down, the UFC at the Eat On Monday food truck). We also had the Porky fries, which were pretty good with the peppers they had on there. While not a truck I will stalk around the city on social media, I wouldn’t mind trying some other items on the menu if I saw them again.

This review is for the truck in Serramonte in Off the Grid. Friendly service, quick to order. Didn’t have much of a line, so that in itself was appealing, but also could be a red flag? Either way, I was happy to give them my business. With a name like Bacon Bacon, you gotta try to the Bacon. And that’s what I did! Had the Double Bacon Burger and side of Bacon. Double Bacon Burger — The patties themselves were nothing to go «goo-goo-ga-ga» over. The plenty of bacon piled into this burger, and the bacon in this burger was pretty lean, and crisped well. Not a lot of the fatty fatty parts, so plus for that. Unfortunately, one of my pet peeves is when the patty doesn’t match the size of the bun. That happened here, but at least there were two patties. Side of Bacon — for $ 7, you get your quantity worth! Felt like I was eating a myocardial infarction! My coronaries were filling as I was eating. Expected a higher quality of crispy goodness, but it just wasn’t there. Fried excellently though, no burning happening here. Not super impressed, but would try their brick-and-mortar store. Give it another go around.

I eat at Bacon Bacon at Burlingame’s Off the Grid. I love the food. Here are some favorites: Taco Tuesday: shredded pork tacos with bacon and picked red peppers. The red peppers were to die for! California burrito: pork burrito with bacon and French fries. This is my all time favorite thing I’ve had from a food truck. Delicious. Bacon bouquet: self explanatory. 4 stars because it’s pricey.

This truck came to my work to cater for an event. They provided sliders, tacos and a grilled cheese. Across the board, the food was mediocre. The bacon was not very prominent in any of their dishes in terms of taste, no matter what the ingredient list say … and the slider was kind of awful. Just dry and way too much bread. The taco was actually ok, but it was far greasier than I expected from a taco, and the corn tortilla was forgettable. Not my favorite food truck from SF!

This is for the bacon bacon truck located at the soma streetfood park on 8÷1÷15. I’m rather disappointed at this trip over to your food truck. It’s was about 5:30pm on August 1, 2015. The food park was 10−15% full — not busy at all. I ordered the porky fries($ 8) and I got really sub par, Luke warm at best fries and pork. The fries themselves were not crisp, but soggy; the pork was ok, but not very much to make me want to order these again. I’m not sure when the skimping on the protein started? Take a look at the photo I took of the fries I got. Would you order that for $ 8, luke warm, soggy fries?

A food truck featuring bacon sounded wonderful. It took awhile for this truck to cross by path. Not that I hadn’t tried, we just never met. I was looking forward to trying one of their specialties. Finally S and I went to Off the Grid in El Cerrito when very were there. I ordered a LBGCT: Little gem lettuce, bacon, goat cheese and tomato. There was a lot of bacon on the sandwich and a thin smear of cheese, the tomato and lettuce was fresh. The bread was boring, the bacon too crispy, and I could barely taste the cheese. Perhaps, my expectations were too high, it really wasn’t a bad sandwich, but I was disappointed. The fact they short changed me by .37 cents also lowered my opinion of this truck, rather than make a scene I just did not leave a tip.

You’ve gotta try their California Bacon BBQ burrito. A delicious mixture of pulled pork, pork belly, bacon, BBQ sauce, french fries and a fresh, crispy, crunchy slaw. Cost around $ 10. Honestly, haven’t tasted anything that good in a long time. Tried their caramelized bacon & chocolate chip cookie. Soft, warm & very tasty. Didn’t get too much of a bacon flavor though. It was really busy, but they were still able to put our food out in a timely manner.

Is the Bacon Bacon truck like New York, New York — so nice, they named it twice? Unfortunately, it’s not. Sprinkling bacon over food doesn’t make it extra delicious to me; I’d rather eat the stuff straight(or with white rice in the comfort of my Auntie’s house), so I went with a purist dose of five slices(called The Bouquet.) I was done after two slices & I couldn’t even pawn off the rest on my Off the Grid companion. Bacon Bacon’s bacon isn’t especially amazing, which sucks because I was hoping it would be. I suggested to the order taker that they prepare the five bacon slices in five different ways… turns out they did that on Valentine’s Day. Make that a regular menu item & I’d give this truck a second try.

I’ve been to their little restaurant before on Haight St where I’ve had their BBQ Pork Sandwich&Porky Fries which were absolutely delicious, juicy&tender, but I’ve never eaten from their food trucks until recently when I went to Off the Grid: Fort Mason. I was craving their Porky Fries, so I was really excited to eat their fries again. Line moved fairly quickly,& the order came out really fast. It came out hot w/thin cut fries, loads of pork&some shredded cheese on top. But sadly, my high little porky hopes were shattered. The pork was wayyy to dry&lacked flavor. Also, since they didn’t put much cheese on top, it barely added any flavor. Thanks to Sriracha hot sauce, I was able to finish it. Overall, pretty disappointed. I’d personally stick to their little restaurant on Haight b/c the quality is better&their pork is really juicy & delicious. Still a fan of Bacon Bacon, jst not their food trucks
