I just had to return my A50 Halo Edition headset. About a week after receiving it, it would not turn on or charge. I contacted support and they replied with a canned response that clearly showed they had not even read my complaint.
Rather than jump through hoops and return the headset for a «warranty evaluation» for the week-​old $ 300 set, I decided to just return and pre-​order the Turtle Beach 800x headset and cross my fingers that they have better quality control.

Store has been closed for quite some time with no notice. Not on the online website. Not on the store itself. Have tried calling but no answer ever. There is not even an email on their site to contact. Not paying 5 – 8 dollar shipping for a cable that costs about the same when I live in the same city. The least they could do is offer free shipping seeing as how their store is currently closed for whatever reason

Spoke with Astro online chat support about shipping and they said why pay shipping when they have a San Fran retail store so I dropped in to pick up an a40. Phil and Amanda were great. Answered whatever questions I had. I’ll be back for another a40 in the near future. Since the store is only open until 7pm give yourself plenty of time to find parking because it is San Francisco and parking sucks.

ZERO STARS FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I purchased an Astro A30 from a friend and overall the headset and mixamp is a great headset for gamers. the features and capabilities are one of the best headsets I’ve ever used. Unfortunately this review isn’t about the product, it’s about the customer service and the run around they give you in resolving an issue and how they squeeze money out of your pocket. It’s a pretty simple issue and yet they make it seem like it’s a pain in their rear to resolve this issue. The headset I purchased isn’t under current warranty and explained that to them and asked for any guidance for a place that they may recommend that can fix this simple issue. They are based in San Francisco as well. Basically the plastic piece cover for the optical input broke which is basically a plastic piece that locks in the wire. The wire needs to stay in place to stay connected to the amp. I’ve also have been contacting them via FB and they have been responding on there as well but also been given the run around and now I have been blocked writing on their wall. Here’s the email below. Have in mind when reading this email, the mixamp costs $ 130 alone and there are about 10 more emails in between getting the run around!

Thanks for the email. All of our products carry a one-​year warranty against defective parts or faulty workmanship from the manufacturer. The warranty does not cover damage to any components caused by accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, lightning, power surges, other acts of nature/​god (s), animals, or unauthorized product modification or repairs. Unfortunately we don’t have a repair program for the mixamp or carry the piece you need to fix it. I can give you 10% off a new mixamp if you would like with free shipping.

I ordered the head set on the 7^th of Dec and have not yet received it, I didn’t get an invoice until it was already shipped to an address that doesn’t exist. Fedex is looking into it today DEC 23^rd but only after Vince wrote to me and said it had been taken care of and I would receive this item any day (that was 7 days ago), noone to call = no one calls me, Vince does not write back any more and my acct is minus $ 165 paid to ASTRO GAMING, I am reporting Fraud
I think this company with it’s many expensive gadgets has to actually work on getting the paid order to it’s customer.

Finally i was fed up with my cheap poor excuse for a gaming headset. I just went through my 4^th pair of turtle beach headsets within the last 2 years. So, i decided to go with an upgrade. Ordered the wireless 5.8 sound system at sometime on Thursday nite or Friday morning? i think it was around 2am. I was kinda hesitant because they do only take orders on-​line. I didn’t want to go another day without a pair of headsets for my gaming. I play a lot of fps and they are known for «sound whoring». To my surprise they were shipped out and sent to my house on Saturday morning. Fast and efficient, not what you expect especially from ordering on-​line. And then my kdr went up and no more back stabs. lol Its hard playing cod without headsets and i was desperate. I’m glad they came through. Why didn’t i buy these sooner? Very light cozy and excellent sound quality. To the point where i feel like I’m cheating. lol I can hear footsteps and guns reloading from across the map and pin point the direction. I also got a lot of complements on the mic and clarity. Everyone noticed it right away. Definitely worth the money.

A screw fell out of my A40 headset, I sent them in to Astro. They paid for the shipping. I told them I wanted them back fast to play the #gears3beta, I had a brand new replacement pair 24 hours after they got them!!! I couldn’t belive they were so fast, Best Customer Service Award 2011.

I also purchased the A40 Audio System and Michael L.‘s review pretty much covers mine as well!
I do want to emphasize the customer service, and give thanks to Walter from Astro Gaming for the great customer service experience, he was very prompt and knowledgeable in answering my questions. Walter if your reading this thanks for accommodating my request because of being employed at EA (I promised not to tell anyone hehe so sorry no details).
I also received two sets of speaker tags when I purchased the Audio System as well!

Two Reasons to Think TWICE about Astro Gaming:
1) Premium Products are Expensive: this headset, with the MixAmp sells for a whopping $ 250. Ouch!
2) Wire Galore: crystal clear communications and audio optimizations require wires. Lots of them. For each gaming session, the time required takes me a good one to two minutes for setup and the same duration to put away. Then again, I don’t see wireless technology supporting such high fidelity quality in the near future.
Overall, as a serious gamer, I am very happy with Astro Gaming and would recommend to anyone who has the resources for such an investment.
