Armada Protective Services

We were highly disappointed in Armada Protective Services. Some of the guards were only marginally presentable and very poorly trained. But by far, the worse thing about Armada Protective Services is that a racist guard was assigned to work at our venue. This guard made an unprovoked, ugly, highly offensive, racist gesture without apology.
Armada guards were staffing an event with high level convention traffic and as the owners of a Moscone Convention Center adjacent venue, we were shocked at the level of incompetence and lack of social awareness on the part of this particular guard. Because security guards deal with the public (of all races and nationalities), it’s clearly unacceptable that these guards weren’t of the highest caliber and that the offending guard didn’t have an understanding of what is inappropriate behavior.
When management for Armada Protective Services was informed of what had happened they didn’t remove the offending guard immediately. By any reasonable standards, this should have been the automatic reaction. Rather, we had to insist that their racist guard leave the premises. It’s our feeling that they were worried about their bottom line (no one should be paying for this guard’s services) as opposed to doing the right thing — removing the offensive guard right away and apologizing profusely.
We strongly, strongly advise against hiring this company. There are plenty of other reputable security companies to choose from. Armada Protective Services is not a company you should consider hiring unless you’d like to chance jeopardizing the well being of your guests, your staff and yourself. Its just not worth the risk.
