Adam is the real deal when it comes to using acupuncture to heal/​cure pain and injuries. I have had several experiences where conventional docs couldn’t help me and Adam’s well-​placed needles did absolute wonders. Additionally, he is genuine and kind and will answer any rookie acupuncture question patiently and without condescension. He’s a real gem.

Just saw Adam for what I thought was «neck pain» or «stiff neck.» Listened carefully and determined muscular and provided acupuncture and hands on treatment. All better. Recommend him highly for interdisciplinary approach.

I was recommended to Adam by a coworker when I began experiencing foot pain. I was a bit more than hesistant because of my aversion to needles. She assured me that I would be in good hands and I was willing to try anything at that point to relieve the pain. Adam is very patient, warm, and kind. He took the time to explain the procedure, was gentle and eased my anxiety about needles– which he doesn’t use very many. Before Dr. Adam, I visited another acupuncturist who was nice, but I didn’t seem to come away from the sessions feeling any better or different. I turned to Dr. Adam, whose office is conveniently located in the FiDi, where I work. Our sessions began with treating allergies, which helped tremendously, but during each session Dr. Adam would ask about all different facets of my life — sleep, digestion, stress, etc and he would tailor his treatments around whatever was bothering me. He’s a great listener and I look forward to seeing him each time. I always leave our sessions feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

I was referred to Adam a few years ago, when his office was located in the Mission. It was not a convenient location for me, so I was thrilled to find out that he had relocated to the downtown area. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable and compassionate acupuncturist, Adam is a must see. I originally went to see him for a pulled hamstring and and added other issues over time (insomnia, stress and back pain).
I am not a simple case and would often arrive at his office in a highly stressed out state. Poor Adam. He was unfailingly patient with me and his excellent bedside manner I’m sure is appreciated by all his patients. Very few practitioners have the time or energy to tune into each patient the way Adam does and it is a true gift. He even plays Beatles tunes for me to keep me awake, so I don’t fall asleep during the session and experience insomnia as a result. That’s great service!

Adam has been helping me for almost 4 years now. After serious health struggles with my heart and kidneys, I started practicing yoga and turned to acupuncture to help restore my mind and body. Adam’s sweet, caring, and kind demeanor has always made me feel totally safe and taken care of. I trust him completely and I know he truly cares about my health and well being. He has helped me with everything from severe anxiety (panic attacks) to hormones, digestion, and just overall well being. I recommend all my friends to visit Adam everyone loves him. Some people are meant for this kind of work and he is one of them. I have been seeing Adam for a little over a year for a variety of issues and have been very happy with my treatment during this time. Adam always takes the time to sit down with me and talk through any issues and is happy to answer all of the many questions I always have.
Depending on how I say I am feeling Adam comes up with a plan for how to treat me and I always look forward to my 45 minute break mid day. Without fail I fall asleep and have a relaxing nap that leaves me with in state of deep relaxation.

I’ve been seeing Adam for about two years now. In the words of Tina Turner, he’s simply the best. I originally came to him for chronic lower back problems and sciatic nerve compression. I’m happy to say that my lower back is in a much happier place and (knock on wood) I haven’t thrown it out since.
I found the treatments so helpful and relaxing that we started treating other areas, such as my anxiety/​panic attacks and stomach/​digestive problems. I see Adam 2 to 3 times a month and look forward to each session. We always sit beforehand and discuss what’s going on with my body and mind in order to determine what we’d like to focus on. He keeps detailed notes and references them to gauge my progress.
The acupuncture sessions are so relaxing that I usually fall into a deep meditative state. I wish I could sleep as deeply at night as I do in the sessions. I often awake to the sound of a gentle knock on the door and have no concept of how long I was on the table until I look at the clock. I was initially nervous about the thought of being poked with needles but there is rarely any pain; instead they’re calming and pull the tension out of my body.
Adam takes my insurance and keeps track of how many sessions I’ve used so that I can space them throughout the year. It was obvious from the first visit that he truly loves his profession and cares about his patients, wanting to help heal whatever is afflicting them. He is personable, kind and always professional. His office is nice, clean and conveniently located (at least for me).
I have referred friends to him and would recommend him to anyone and everyone.

I have always been scared of needles, and I detest injections. I had heard that acupuncture would be a great source of treatment for a neck /​shoulder issue I had been dealing with for years (bad ergonomics, carrying heavy laptops to work etc), but even still I avoided acupuncture for as long as I could.
One fine day a friend shared with me how much Adam had helped her, and how fantastic, professional, and doctor-​like he was, so I thought I would give it a go. At the first meeting, I asked to see the needles, as I was not very comfortable with the idea, and when I saw them I almost laughed because they were so fine that they hardly looked like needles.
Who knew, but I actually look forward to my acupuncture appointments, which always remedy my immediate issues, and Adam helps me work towards my long term goals as well. I think acupuncture for me will become a lifestyle after I get over my injury.

I have been very pleased with my treatments by Adam Wiscomb at Middle Path Acupuncture. He has always been kind, friendly and welcoming to me. As a naturopath doctor myself, I can have higher standards for health practitioners, and I am pleased to say that Adam provides excellent care.

Adam Wiscomb has treated me on a regular basis since February 2011. I initially came to him for migraines, and to my amazement, his auricular acupuncture treatments provided immediate pain relief. If you have migraines, do not waste any more time suffering in pain. Go see Adam. He is kind, caring, effective, professional, and always happy to fit you in at a moments notice if he can.
Adam’s acupuncture treatments and dietary/​herbal suggestions have also helped me with chronic low immunity and to ward off colds/​flu when I feel them coming on. After a series of infections, my antibodies and complement system continued to worsen over a period of two years. I started seeing Adam, and my blood tests finally started showing improvement instead of worsening. I no longer need to see an immunologist and have only had one cold in two years. If I feel something coming on, I now immediately go see Adam for a treatment.
Adam has also helped me with joint and muscle aches and pains. His understanding of physiology and anatomy is excellent, so he can provide you with relief by simply spending 5 minutes on a specific problem area after your acupuncture treatment.
Initially, I saw Adam more frequently, and now I see him once a month or if I have an acute problem, because he has helped me so much that I don’t need to see him more often. That is true healing.

Adam is such a nice guy and he really pours himself into his work. Thanks to him my knee pain is greatly reduced. This is a great place for acupuncture.

After struggling with a Morton’s Neuroma for over a year (and visiting a particular quack podiatrist in SF who happened to make it worse), I decided to try acupuncture as a potential path of treatment. I was blown away after my first treatment. Adam started with an in-​depth assessment/​interview of my symptoms, pain levels /​type /​areas, and my history with treating the neuroma. He was able to place points that immediately alleviated the pain and inflammation in my foot — after each point, I experienced significant relief. I’ve been continuing treatment with Adam 1 — 2 times a week since then, and I honestly don’t believe that any other treatment or practitioner could have had as much success with treating my neuroma as Adam has. Being able to be active on my feet again has meant so much to me, and I have only Adam to thank for getting me back to a happier place.
I also decided that I wanted help with smoking cessation and looked to acupuncture as a supplementary aid. Adam coached me through the process even beyond the acupuncture. He gave me tips for how to rid my home/​life of negative influences and even referred me to a hypno-​therapist that ultimately helped with getting me to commit to quitting. The acupuncture helped with the dreaded detoxification, and he even put in acupressure points while I went on vacation so I could continue treatment from abroad. I’m proud to say I’ve been smoke free for 31 days and counting!
In addition to my various treatments, Adam has a wonderful demeanor and beside manner. I definitely look forward to each appointment, as I know that I’m in great hands, and the benefits of the treatment are always immediate and sustaining. Highly, highly recommend!

Adam is a great acupuncturist. I’ve seen him for a number of different issues. Adam’s always listened, asked lots of questions and spent a lot of time with me. He’d follow up a few days later to see how things are going. I had a problem that my doctor wanted to put me on another pill. I really didn’t want another pill, so I gave Adam a shot. After a few sessions with Adam, no more problem, no expensive meds.
Good bed side manner, and it doesn’t hurt a bit.

I injured my back playing volleyball back in high school and every few years I’ll do something to tweak it again. Recently it happened and I went to Adam based on his Unilocal reviews.
Adam found the spasms and educated me on how my muscles were spasming to protect the old injury, thus causing discomfort with the nerve. 2 treatments later and I was able to put my own socks on and walk to work pain free.
Hopefully I won’t have any more issues in the future but if I do I’ll be sure to pay Adam a visit.

When it comes to accupuncture I’ve had a range of experiences; some mediocre, some bad… I was at the point I was done with accupuncture, but it wasn’t to be.
I had shoulder surgery in December and was going through physical therapy when one of my colleagues told me about Adam; I was highly sceptical but she had nothing but good things to say about him, so I scheduled an appointment. It is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I saw him for about 6 weeks and I am still amazed at how much quicker my recovery has been as a result of our sessions. My range of motion has increased significantly and the pain has lessened.
Adam has this calm, reassuring way about him, he is attentive and, most importantly, he’s happy to answer any questions about what he is doing and why… and I do ask a lot of questions…

Adam is great. This was my first experience using acupuncture, I had had a lot of trouble healing an Achilles tendon post surgery. My PT suggested I try acupuncture after the Dr. gave me a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ chance at full recovery.
Adam worked some magic and now my tendon is doing better than before and
is almost at full recovery. I strongly recommend him and also acupuncture in general.

Adam helped me deal with my recurring ankle issues. In summary, he is conscientious, combines his EXCELLENT knowledge of human physiology with eastern medicine, cares about his patients who he treats like CLIENTS, and most importantly, isn’t afraid to look something up if he needs to.
Unlike almost every doctor I’ve ever been to, Adam follows up, has a convenient scheduling system and does his best to accommodate your busy schedule. He takes care of the insurance for you and doesn’t surprise you with charges you don’t recognize later.
If your western Doc isn’t cutting it, give Adam a try, you’ll probably be pleasantly surprised.

I enjoy working with Adam, not only because he is a very pleasant person, but because he listens intently to what you tell him and then he listens deeply to your pulses (actually even more dedicatedly than any other acupuncturist has ever done before) and then he has knowledge and capability to treat your issues and symptoms accordingly.
He has a clarity about his energy that allows him to be very effective in his work… and I highly recommend his services!
