A Taste of San Francisco & Beyond

Deceptive advertising is the basis of this business model. We took all day «vintage» wine tour and ended up seeing small shops or corporate houses operating under names of original owners. Seeing uninspired production lines to be and one warehouse hardly qualifies for memorable tour. One stop was added with beer purchase that was disclosed after the fact. It was advertised as sampling and free. We passed on more prestigious and relevant places on the way back. It is a sham withholding the facts of dirty business for what it is. We have been amused instead by driving hills of SF and treated as children. No one was amused. We paid for meals. Lunch was not included. Driver dispensed a few candies with GMO content.

We booked a tour to Sonoma and Napa. Not only was our tour guide really friendly and courteous, the vineyards we toured were exceptional! I highly recommend his company. Ask if Asif can be your guide.

Awesome tour to the wine country. Paul, our tour guide, made the trip awesome and so enjoyable. The best tour guide in San Francisco. (Roads were closed due to flooding and he navigated our tour so that we did not miss anything.). This was the best tour we took while in San Francisco! The wineries that we saw were gems. Definitely made our trip special! Looking forward to using this company again.

On our trip to San Francisco, we stayed at the Hotel Zephyr and asked our concierge about taking a tour or Muir Woods and going on a wine tour. We assumed that would have to do these tours separately, little did we know the they offered a tour that did both in one day.
On the morning of our tour, we were told to be in the lobby of our hotel 10 minutes before our pick up time. Our tour was from 9am-​6pm. Our first tour guide was a few minutes early so I’m glad we were too.
Our first guide was a very nice gentleman, unfortunately, I can’t remember his name. He drove us to Muir Woods and along the way gave us lots of information about the city of San Francisco, Sausalito, and the area around Muir Woods. We got to spend a little over an hour at the woods. I wish we would have had just a bit more time there, I felt a little rushed.
Our second stop was Sausalito for browsing or grabbing a quick bite. To be honest, I could’ve skipped Sausalito. We only had an hour here because of next tour guide picking us up at 12:30pm. For me, there didn’t seem to be a lot to do here even though it’s a very beautiful seaside town.
Our next guide, Paul, picked a few of us that we’re going on the wine tour up at 12:30pm and we got on the road. Paul gave us some great information along our drive about the areas we were passing through and about wine and the vineyards.
Our first stop in Sonoma was Madrone Estates. This was a beautiful winery. Outside were the old vines, perfect for taking some photos. The main house was beautiful inside and out! It was warm and cozy with exposed wooden beams and stone walls. A lovely woman named Nancy pored our wines and gave us information about the wine and vineyard.
We stopped in a little town for a quick bite to eat or shopping. We were here for about an hour.
Our second winery was the Jacuzzi Vineyards. Another beautiful property. The large stone building housed a winery as well as a olive oil shop. Not only did we get to taste the wines but we also got to taste the delicious olive oils as well. We ended up buy both a bottle of Pinot Noir wine and chocolate olive oil.
I would definitely recommend this trip to my friends and family.

Great little restaurant with the freshest seafood. The clam chowder in a bread bowl was so tasty and the crab sandwich was fresh and delicious.

We booked a full day Napa and Sonoma tour and loved it! Our driver Asif (I think that’s how he said to spell his name) was knowledgeable and entertaining. We went to 3 vineyards ranging from small family owned to quite large. Our driver also stopped on the way back to a Golden Gate Bridge look out point so we could take pictures and toured us through famous houses on the way back to our hotels.
It was a great day! Definitely recommend it!

Our driver Patrick was hilarious! He was very knowledgeable about the city and Muir Woods. He made our morning ride a lot of fun! The woods are definitely something to see they are gorgeous! I would recommend this tour for any age!

We were driving to Yosemite and one of their drivers tailgated us and laid on their horn like a total jerk. Our car was doing the speed limit at 50MPH and they had the ability to pass, but simply tried to run us off the road. Rudest person we ever saw on the highway today. I wouldn’t recommend touring with this company unless they replace drivers like this with those who know how to follow simplistic road laws such as not tailgating and not driving to endanger. Their plate number was CA TASTSF1, with a number TCP 27 762 on the back. This occurred at approx 10am PST on August 13, 2015.

Used this company on a half a day tour to Sonoma.
If you’re staying at a hotel they will pick you up, if you’re staying somewhere else like an Airbnb, they will tell you where to go for pickup.
The tour included two wineries and a stop for lunch in between.
Although I can’t remember our driver’s name (he is slim with long hair and a hippy vibe) he was amazing. He told us interesting facts as we passed various landmarks and funny jokes.
The wineries, Jacuzzi and Meadowcroft (I wrote reviews on each) were pretty good.
I wish we would had spent more time at the second winery but we had to beat traffic.
They stop in a cute little town for lunch with various restaurant including a cheese factory.
Overall this was a great trip and I would recomend this company to everyone.

While researching things to do in SF, we were told to take a wine tour in Napa/​Sonoma Valley. Since we didn’t want to do a full day wine tour, I was happy to find this one and it fit the bill at being 5 – 6 hours! I emailed the tour company asking if they were in operation on Memorial Day and got a response within a day. Booked online and received a confirmation.
The confirmation for half day wine country tour stated the pickup times. We were staying in the Union Sq area and it seemed like we would be picked up at 1130AM according to the confirmation email but my hubby wondered if we would get called that they arrived. So when I called, a lady told me that we would not get a call but to make sure to be at the lobby along with stating that were in the area of Nob Hill at 1145AM which I asked to repeat. So luckily we went down 10 mins early at 1135AM and the tour guide was already there then I got a call asking where we were. We were also asked if we paid our bill, which I said yes via paypal.
Finally we were on our way! Paul, our guide, talked alot, joked and gave alot of information. First stop was in Sausalito to pick up another group from the morning tour. 14 people in the air-​conditioned van.
We went to 2 vineyards — Jacuzzi Family Vineyards and Peter Cellars.
We had a pitstop for lunch before Peter Cellars which had a lot of restaurants to eat at but we ended up at the Sonoma Cheese Factory which had tons of cheese samples to try and delicious chicken tacos/​sammies.
Back to the vineyards! Jacuzzi Family Vineyards is such a nice photogenic place to have a wine tasting! We had sampled 5 wines with Arneis being my favorite! This place you were also able to taste the olive oils and vinegars from the Olive Press! Oh man, if I had checked-​in luggage or was able to take home samples, I definitely would have! You were able to walk around which was really nice. Wish we had spent more time here!
Peter Cellars is a smaller vinery and although, it was great tasting his wines (loved the Rosé!), I felt a bit intrusive because this was their home. Would have preferred to have gone here first rather than last. Still loved it!
After the wine tastings, we took the scenic route (literally) back to our hotels, which Paul didn’t necessarily have to do but he did anyway! We were able to see the Golden Gate bridge at a great angle along seeing the alpaca/​sheep at this local fruit stand! LOL

Loved the tour! Great adventure. Patrick was funny and informative and even though I’ve been in SF for 30 years the city felt all new to me. Super company and super fun. My 10 and 14 year old had a great time too! They were engaged the whole time. My know it all husband who is native to SF learned some new things.
Go on a tour with this company. You’ll love it.

Its always different expectations of the traveller, I have been at some wineries and whiskey distilleries before and also in Napa and St Helena.
We choose one day wine tour.
When you choose this package what you get is a guide+ride+3 testings at wine shops near a wine yard.
Easy Pick up at our hotel and left us there after tour.
Jerry the guide was really nice and did his best to do the tour good for the guests.
3 stops at 3 places for trying some wine, the testings is made more for get drunk then test the wine (i have no problem with that).
During the trip you get a nice look at Sonoma and Napa.
Lunch at Yountville, is a touristic place for eat not so much to see comparing with St Helena not far away, did have lunch at Bouchon restaurant and it was excellent.
I think that the trip was to simple and expensive for what you get, but if you want to go for a convenient ride in sonoma and napa and get drunk its a nice choice, if you want to have more knowledge in wine etc its not the trip for you.

I was very impressed by their polite and responsive customer service.
On our next guided tour of the Bay Area, we will definitely call ATOSF&B, first.

I LOVE THIS COMPANY! There were prompt and our tour guide — Vlad was GREAT! There were about 15 of us and we were all doing the whole day tour of wine country — we went to 3 wineries and beleive me it is enough if you start drinking at 10am you are done by 2pm. I had an amazing time — and the wineries we visited were EXCELLENT. The view was to die for and it just mades me want to go back for more! Vlad was so funny and attentive, I highly recommend Vlad as your tour guy because we got a bonus Winery and ended up going to a fourth one towards the end of the tour! It was fantastic to say the least — YES. Vlad got a huge tip from us (me & fiancée) and a lot of the people on the bus since he was so great! Highly recommend the company and Vlad :)

On a recent trip to San Fran my boyfriend and I went on the Muir Woods & Wine tour with this company. I have been on another wine tour with a separate company so have a bit to compare.
I really loved the Muir Woods portion in the morning. You would never expect a national park like this to be so close to the city. On our way to the woods our guide (I think Greg or Glen?) took us to an awesome view point of the Golden Gate. It was up on a hill to the left when you cross over the bridge. We got awesome pictures! Once we got to the woods we had about an hour to explore. It was really beautiful and pretty incredible how tall the trees are. You do have to pay $ 7 to get in.
After we left the woods we headed for Sausalito, but not before making another stop for an amazing photo opp! We stopped at Muir Beach Overlook. It was beautiful and gave you a great view looking down the mountains on to the Pacific!
Now for the wine tour. Apparently we were the only ones that day who did BOTH woods and wine. It would have been much better if the tour just continued from the woods to the Sonoma. Instead we had to stop in Sausalito, shove some food down our throats because it wasn’t clear if we were going to have lunch, only to have to wait about a half hour for the other group to pick us up (there was traffic from Americas Cup).
That group picked us up and we headed to Sonoma. We went to two very very small wineries. We also stopped at a store to pick up «picnic» items before we got there. My favorite of the two was Kaz winery. They only produce 1000 cases per year! It was in a cool little barn and is all organic wine.
All in all this was a great tour. It could have been better if the woods and wine was one tour. I just felt like we stopped in the middle of our day and then didn’t have much time to do the wineries. But really how can you go wrong in such a beautiful place?

This tour was booked by our hotel when the company we previously booked with cancelled. Save your money. We did the Muir Woods and Sausalito Tour and were disappointed. The bus came late, the driver was nothing short of obnoxious, the cost paid did not include admission to Muir Woods, we only had a hr in Muir woods and an hr in Sausalito. Not enough time at all for either stop. At least at Sausalito we extended our stay and took the ferry back to the Ferry Terminal.

I did the Woods and Wine tour ($ 99 pp
) recently. It was okay. Next time I may try hiring or a car because for three people (one who doesn’t drink), it may be more cost effective and just more fun to be more independent.
The issue with the woods and wine tour is that you only spend 1 hour in Muir Woods and it feels very rushed (Note: You pay for your own entrance fee). The woods are gorgeous and our morning tour guide (a scot) was excellent, humorous, and full of stories about San Francisco.
We switch tour guides in Sausalito a cute little town, but again it is very rushed and I think there is only about 30 minutes to look around. Since the drop off point is a parking lot, you get to see the boats and go to the bathroom — and that’s about it.
The winery tour guide is very strict. No whispering while he is talking or he will yell at you — in a full van. Also we only saw two wineries and spent a large chunk of time at the first which was in Sonoma, was great but again too much time there. Everyone was just waiting for the guide to let us know when we could move on. We were all back in the van before the appointed time. The second winery was in Napa was a small one and again, too much time spent there. This meant there was no time for an «extra» winery even though that is what our hotel concierge suggested this company did.
The wineries we visited were excellent. The people were very friendly and the wines were delectable.
Ultimately, this company has great ease of access. They pick up and drop off at your hotel and the winery tasting fees are included. Also being driven around is a great way to see Sonoma, Napa, and Muir Woods.

Spent the whole day with Gregg and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Got to see all of the usual attractions and so many extra ones. Went to all areas of San Francisco in the morning and the Muir Woods and Saulsalito in the afternoon. He gave us a ton of information and entertained us at the same time! It was so nice being on a van instead of great big bus! Thanks so much Gregg!

Last month we were in San Francisco and decided to drink some vino for the day and tour the valleys. My boyfriend booked us a few seats on a tour with A Taste of San Francisco. Great tour! Glenn our guide was super friendly and very, very knowledgeable about a variety of subjects. He brought the right mix of information and fun to the tour, so we could relax, drink some wine and soak up the history of San Francisco on our way to the wineries. We visited Reata, Hefegen, and Larsen on the tour. (The wines at Hefegen and Larsen were my faves of the three.) Overall, we would happily recommend the tour to anyone visiting San Francisco.

They cancelled my Napa/​Sonoma tour the day before with no explanation. They also didn’t contact me directly; they told my hostel, so I didn’t find out until the morning of the tour, when it was too late to join another one. Not recommended.
