nice people in a clean, honest shop. no upsell, they give you available options, rates and prices are within reason. stand-​up people.
their specialty is not diagnostics, however. they’re great if you know what you need repaired or replaced, not quite as great tracking down that funny noise you hear or that weird something you feel when the car does such-​and-​such. sometimes you get lucky and they nail it, but there sometimes seems to be a disconnect when you know your car but they don’t so those little idiosyncrasies get lost in the test drive.
not the fastest either. go on your day off or have a ride home ready.
however, the work they do is quality and they’ll stand behind it.

It is very hard to find trustworthy mechanics in a town like LA; I’m going out to say you can’t do better than Weaver Brothers.
I came to LA seven years ago, where WB was recommended to me by a landlord. I was nervous, skeptical, and apprehensive. However, time and again Tom Fyte and his crew have gotten me out the door while being patient and understanding to my needs as a consumer.
I used to own a 2001 Toyota Corolla, and I went to about 5 places, (including 2 dealerships) to figure out why the temperature gauge was in the red when I’d drive her. The car only had about 60 thousand miles on her, and everyone was baffled.
Tom nailed it on the first try; a trip to Midas for an oil change a few years back ended badly when they didn’t put the oil cap back on correctly. The Weavers removed the part, had it cleaned out, and for the rest of the life of the car, I never had that problem again. Total damage? $ 80.
When you trust a mechanic with your car, you’re really trusting them with you life. So yes… I trust the Weavers with my life. I’ll never go to any other mechanic if I can help it.

My dad has been going to Weaver Bros for about the past 15 years, and if my dad goes there, then that’s saying a lot.
So, when my high-​performance luxury car (2000 Toyota Camry) needed all sorts of fun maintenance stuff, we I took it to Weaver Bros. The owner (?) gave me a quote, were upfront about what needed to be done and what didn’t, and I scheduled a time to come back to drop off the car.
The day I dropped off the car, they warned me it might take longer than a day and I told them to take however long they wanted. I also threw in another few things I wanted them to take a look at. Within one hour, they called me gave me an update along with their assessment and cost for the additional things I had requested that morning.
They kept me updated throughout the day and called that afternoon to let me know the car was ready.
When we got there, I immediately went over to look at my car in the parking lot and the technician who actually worked on the car came over to talk to me and let me know how the car is doing. He shared some things that I can expect to need in the next few months/​years and I really appreciated that they didn’t just jump to do things that weren’t necessary in an effort to gouge me.
When it came time to pay, the actual price was less than the estimate (which made us so happy), and the owner talked through everything that was done.
I am super happy with Weaver Bros and since I’m far too frugal to get rid of my car, I will likely find reason to take it back to them someday. Just hopefully not too soon…

I’ve been going here for the past 10 years, and have nothing bad to say about them. I’ve always found the mechanics to be trustworthy, and the receptionist to be nice and knowledgeable.
Most times they give me the option of cheaper or more expensive parts to fix my truck, and run down the pros and cons.
I’m pretty sure the shop is family run, and it shows. No shady business, no price gouging, no B.S. about ‘needing something’ that you don’t need. These guys (and gal) have always been 100% honest with me, and that’s why I recommend them to everyone I know. A trustworthy mechanic is hard to find.

Guys, I’ve been taking my cars to this place for the last 10 years and HIGHLY recommend them to all my friends…
1) First… they are HONEST!!! I’ve had them give me back my cars a handful of times telling me that nothing was wrong (or it was something that I needed a specialty shop to fix, e.g., transmission repair) and NOT charging me a dime.
2) They are affordable… you don’t leave this place feeling like you just had a bad weekend in Vegas! The rates are fair and reasonable!
3) They are NICE… from the front desk to the mechanics, this is a crew of people that don’t look like they just starred in an episode of «America’s Most Wanted.»
4) They do good work… its nice to have something fixed, and fixed right.
Plan on:
Leaving your car all day. Look, if you took your car to Sears or Bubba’s Auto-​Rip-​You-​Off Shop, you might not see it for a week. Be realistic here… getting your oil changed is a 20 minute affair at Jiffy Lube… getting your car repaired is a minimum all day investment.

This was my first time at Weavers and I can’t leave it a bad review, sucks for the first two bad ones. Anyway honest, professional, low cost and great customer service. I had an oil change, a new filter and they recommended something else. It’s walking distance from my house and I can’t complain about that. I will be going again and referring my family to them.

May my Honda rest in peace. Miko (that was her name) was a good car. But she had an overheating problem. I took her to Weaver Bros because they have taken care of our family’s cars for over 10 years. They are honest, reasonably priced and very nice people. Unfortunately, I learned the hard way that complex repairs are NOT their thing. 2 radiators and 2 thermostats later, my Miko still continued to overheat. They said they didn’t know what was wrong with her and were baffled. They did tests and everything came back normal. Or so they thought. I gave in and decided to take her to a Honda dealership. In less than an hour, they found the problem and we were given the bad news. She had a cracked head gasket the whole time and possibly additional engine problems because it was not diagnosed sooner. The cost to repair the further damage was more than the car was even worth.
Had Weaver Bros identified the actual problem from the beginning, I would still have Miko and I probably would have saved a lot more money. For anyone curious about Weaver Bros, they are good people. Good at the basics. But I definitely would not recommend taking your car in for any engine-​related work.

My family has been going to Weaver Bros. for over 20 years. While it pains me to leave a negative review, I don’t want other Unilocalers experiencing the same horror that I recently went through.
First, the positive: Weaver Bros. is absolutely honest and very, very reasonably-​priced. If there’s something clearly wrong with your vehicle that they can determine based on one test drive, they will fix it and do a great job! They do great A/​C maintenance, tune-​ups, and won’t do or charge you for ANYTHING you don’t ask for. Very honest folks.
Here’s the negative: I took my car in three weeks ago because my clutch had been having intermittent issues. I told them exactly what was wrong with it and how to duplicate it. It took them three days just to test-​drive my car! (During this period, they were not that great at communicating with me about what was happening, probably because NOTHING was happening!) And then, after they finally test-​drove it, they told me nothing was wrong with it. (They didn’t charge me for this, which I thought was very decent of them.)
I should have gone somewhere else to get a second opinion, but I trusted Weavers! Two nights ago, my clutch really started acting up and then, finally, completely died on the road. My car is completely unable to shift into gear or start correctly. What might have been just a problem with the clutch spring is now probably an issue with the whole clutch mechanism, if not the transmission itself!
Obviously, if Weaver Bros. had diagnosed my problem when I brought the car to them, I wouldn’t be dealing with a completely busted and un-​driveable Miata. Another friend of mine had the same experience with them; he brought in his car, they were busy, didn’t do a thorough job of diagnosing the problem, and two weeks later he ended up stranded in the middle of nowhere waiting for AAA for several hours.
Again, if there’s an obvious problem with your car or you need routine maintenance, these guys are really great. But if it’s something tricky, you might want to try somebody else.
