What brand of products do you use?

I’m in review writing mode and I’ve been meaning to write one for Annie and Joab for a few months now. I’m very stingy when it comes to writing reviews for service organizations — I think you need to live with them for a while before you can get a good feel for who they are and what they do. So let’s be clear:
Knockout Cleaners are awesome and I unreservedly recommend them to anybody who is looking for a super affordable solution to getting your house clean.
We’ve gone through various cleaners over the years — when money’s tight they’re one of the first things we cut back on — but I’d sell my leg before we lose these guys. Annie and Joab are the owners and they’re serious about their business; when they come to clean your house it’s their livelihood and they make sure they get it done and do it right. Not only do they take care of the basics, but if they have extra time they’ll do things like cleaning out the lint tray on the tumble dryer (no fire risk now — thank you!) — pulling out the stove and cleaning the gunk behind — things that go above and beyond what you’d normally expect.
They’re also hilarious if you take a little time to get to know them — I work out of my home office and Joab always has something that leaves me in stitches.
They’re also very open about what happened in the past as they tried to grow their business. They made some rookie mistakes and ended up employing people that damaged their reputation — which is where some of the negative comments below come from. They’re not stupid; they know they need to contact you if they’re running late or if they want to change something — we’ve never had a communication issue over the 6 months they’ve worked with us. They know what they need to do to grow the business and I reckon they’ll be a lot more cautious and attentive as they bring new people on board.
If you’re looking for a real small business that you can trust, that you can leave your keys with and valuables lying around, that wants to do a good job and grow their business and grab the same American dream we’re all chasing after — give these guys a try — they’re the real deal.

Reasonably priced, punctual, communicate well, serious about their work.
First, I called knockout to clean one of my places two weeks after remodeling. I received a prompt response and scheduling was very easy. The crew showed up a few minutes early and after meeting them face to face, they went right to it right at the agreed upon time. They are very thourough and did exactly what they were paid to do and even though they stuck to the specific tasks, I felt they had exceeded my expectations. The next time, I brought them back to my main residence just before taking a short vacation. I’m extremely busy but I also have a tendency to push certain things to the end of the line, like cleaning and packing. I don’t like leaving a dirty house but even more, I don’t like coming home to one after traveling. I called knockout and they werent interested in my last minute excuses. We got right to the point and they put my on for the next morning.
I usually clean up after myself, but I find I will cut corners to just complete it and be done. When I need someone with out an attitude, who is straight forward, can communicat well, and whom I trust, I will call Knockout again.

I now know why they are called Knockout Cleaners– they knocked out my sister’s not-​so-​clean home. I stayed there while she was out of town so I waned to give a «thank you». They came out on short notice and cleaned every corner of it. Their customer service rocked and they were actually really affordable.

I was so disappointed by knockout, looking at the reviews at Unilocal it looked like they were very professional. it was the WORST cleaning job I have ever seen. I basically got swindled out of $ 275 !!!
the cleaning crew was looked very unprofessional, the job description was to clean a condo in between tenants and they did not clean anything, everything was dusty and the bathrooms weren’t clean either. it was suppose to be $ 200 and they charged extra $ 75 for the fridge on the spot. I would not recommend them or use them ever again

We just moved in a month ago and wanted someone to do the deep cleaning that wasn’t done beforehand. I called up and made an appointment for noon on a Saturday or Sunday. The guy showed up early. He tried calling me but I was asleep, and my husband was taking a quick shower before the appointment. So the guy simply left — 10 minutes before the appointment was to happen.
(Pro tip: Don’t frickin leave BEFORE the agreed-​upon time. 11:50 is not noon.)
My husband tried again, rescheduling for the following Tuesday at 9am.
No one showed.
I’m not knocked out. And anyone from the company: please don’t attempt to make this up to us. We’ve moved on to your less flaky competition.

UPDATE* I really appreciate the honesty and update about happened. So adding 2 stars for that!
It’s really not my month to find a good cleaning service. I’ve tried contacting 2 different ones (with good reviews!) in the past month to try and get my home cleaned on a weekly basis. The other company didn’t respond to my 2 emails and 2 phone messages at all. At least Knockout called me back once. They told me team B would return my calls. Well no Team B ever called. I called back a second time and left a message. Nothing. Maybe they’re so good they’re that busy but if I have to chase someone around I’m guessing its not going to be a very good working relationship.
Well I’m off to try green cleaning service #3 — wish me luck.

Annie and her crew just finished cleaning my little home in the Valley — and they did an AMAZING job. These are reasons why you should go with Knockout Cleaners versus the competition:
1) She responded prompty to my voicemail — I work A LOT and didn’t feel like spending my few days off preparing my house for a small get together for the Memorial Weekend. Annie returned my call within the hour and was able to fit me in her work schedule.
2) She quoted me a reasonable price — which is a flat fee for the size of home. When she arrived at my home, I asked her to clean the walls — and she said it would only cost a few dollars more (still very reasonable)!
3) It’s TRUE — just like the other reviews — she offered to place new bed sheets and a clean duvet on my bed! I was impressed and said, «It’s like hotel service in my very own home!» She also did the dishes in my sink — and loaded up the dishwasher.
4) Her team of cleaning professionals were friendly and did a wonderful job with my bathrooms, furniture, AND ESPECIALLY my walls and carpets — I have two puppies at home, who basically run this place, while my hubby and I are left to pay the bills and make sure they’re fed. When they were done cleaning my home, the exact words that came out of my mouth were, «It’s like I’m walking into my home, brand new, for the very first time.»
5) She offers a bi-​monthly and monthly cleaning service — which I will definitely continue because working full time and having two pooches at home to clean up after is too much to handle. While Annie and her crew cleaned my home, I was able to attack other tasks on my list of things to do, which decreased my stress level, and made this day off more enjoyable.
6) She also brings her own cleaning supplies and vacuum. One of the guys even vacuumed the residual puppy hair on my couch — it looks brand new!

I’ve tried a lot of cleaning services over the years and let me tell you — Knockout Cleaners is hands down the best and definitely one I will stick with!
After receiving increasing prices and declining service quality with my existing cleaning service, I decided to give Annie with Knockout Cleaners a call — and I am SO GLAD I DID!
Honestly — her rates are unbeatable and the quality of service she gives you is unparalleled.
I love the fact that she uses all eco-​friendly cleaners (especially great because it’s safe for our two dogs.) And speaking of dogs — Annie has two herself so she TOTALLY gets the issues with dog hair and is amazing at cleaning it up! Our house was looking gross — straight up gross — with piles of dog hair gathering everywhere — on the floors, bedspreads, couch, etc and Annie made it disappear!
Another thing is that our floors are dark wood which is beautiful, but it’s hard to see the dirt on them. My old cleaning service would just sort of wipe the floors so they «looked» clean, but when you walked around with white socks the socks would get filthy! YUCK! Annie actually CLEANED the floors and they were so shiny and stunning. No more dirty socks! THANK YOU ANNIE!
Since Annie is a solo gal, she is really flexible and caters the service to exactly what YOUR specific needs are. She is so receptive to specific needs and does a stellar job — my house looks amazing!

I have Annie from Knockout Cleaners coming a couple of times a month, and she really is a godsend! A busy schedule has me unable to keep up with all the tasks that need to be done around the apartment, and she really helps keep the mess from getting out of control. She’s efficient, friendly, and uses green cleaning supplies to boot.

My apartment was REALLY messy… I thought getting the whole place clean was going to be an impossible task the first time she came, but she did an amazing job, and now I have her coming on a regular basis.
