History

Established in 2013.

Dr. Dorothy Wang estabalished Westview Optometry in 2013 to serve the local communities with comprehensive eyecare services. This brand new clinic is conveniently located in Torrey Highlands near Hwy 56, where many local schools (such as Westview High School) and new neighborhoods are within walking distance. After more than 10 years’ clincal experience in Harvard Medical School (2000 – 2007) and UCSD Shiley Eye Center (2008 – 2012), Dr. Wang wants to provide the patients with highest quality eyecare services. She enjoys working with patients, one at a time.

Dr. Wang received Doctor of Optometry degree from New England College of Optometry in Boston Massachusetts, where she was awarded with the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society for her outstanding academic achievement. She also held clinic honors throughout her Internship trainings of Specialty Contact Lens Care, Pediatric Eye Care, and Geriatric Eye Care etc.

Dr. Wang continued her training in Ocular Disease and Geriatric Eye Care at Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, Massachusetts as Optometry Resident. Upon finishing her Residency, she practiced at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School (2000 – 2007).

Since 2008, Dr. Wang joined Shiley Eye Center at University of California at San Diego (UCSD). She has been providing Comprehensive Eye Examinations, Contact Lens Examinations and Ocular Disease Management. She also works with surgerons in the care/​management of patients with Laser Vision Correction and Cataract Surgeries.
