History

Established in 1976.

Native Australian Suzanne grew up surrounded by a family of designers. After achieving her Masters she studied under one of Sydney’s foremost designer Barry Burns. Her passion for Art, Furniture and Textiles led her to her travels around the world exploring and creating window displays a long the way. She ended up staying in San Francisco doing window display, set design and residential/​commercial Interior Design.

Suzanne’s daughter, Jennifer moved to San Diego and received her Business Degree at USD. 11 years ago, Suzanne followed and took over WDI Design. Jennifer realized she too had a passion for design. She went back to school to get her design degree, while working in the textile and furniture industry. Only to follow in her family’s footsteps, she joined her mother 7 years later.

After two years of paper blinds and multiple sales calls, I was paralyzed as no one showed me a product that was the perfect solution. I have nothing but nice things to say about «WDI Design».
The cutest Australian Lady showed up to meet me and discuss options for my home in «La Jolla». I heard About Suzanne from several well to do families in the area and was excited to meet her! I ordered window treatments, rugs, furniture and a few pieces of art work. We stayed within budget and everything arrived within a timely manner and on schedule. This has been by far the BEST experience I’ve had in a long time! I can’t wait to make some money, so I can finish the rest of my dream home.

This is a repost as WDI has two Unilocal profiles and I wanted everyone to know my experience.
I was very impressed with my initial consultation of our 60 yr old home that is about to go through a complete remodel in the La Jolla area. Susan and company were on point with design and communicated additional ideas to our Architect and Contractor that helped refine the final designs.
In all, WDI Designs was professional, helpful and a delight to work with.
We thank them for being part of our team and making our home what it is today.

We recently remodeled our living room and turned to WDI. Even though they’re in San Diego and we’re in N. CA, we had used their services before and wouldn’t think of using anyone else. Creative, yet willing to work with our tastes, we’ve always been happy. In this case a few phone calls and emails later, they sent samples and provided ideas that we wouldn’t have considered. We’re not into exotic, high end decorating, and the blinds, carpeting, and color ideas suited us to a «t.» We love the result and our friends are «blown away.»
The owner of WDI even followed-​up for us in resolving quality issues with one manufacturer’s first delivery — a reputable company with an excellent product line, but things do happen. Resolved to our complete satisfaction with no cost to us.
