I have been to a lot of acupuncturists and had varying results. With Kirk, I knew instantly that I was in good hands. His knowledge of both Chinese and Western medicine gave me the confidence that he was going to use the right techniques for the job. His passion for helping people and for life in general is contagious and has made every visit enjoyable in addition to being highly effective.

Kirk is very knowledgable and dedicated to his practice. I have found great relief from the treatments I’ve received from him. He provided an explanation to my questions, and made suggestions as to how I can improve my trouble areas through specific exercises that I can incorporate on my own.
The office is very comfortable and I especially love the music that he chooses to play during the treatments. I would highly recommend Kirk to anyone interested in acupuncture. Kirk really cares about what he does and he has a huge heart for his clients.

I’d been experiencing a «pins and needle» sensation in my shoulder when I slept. This was my first time getting acupuncture. Kirk made sure to answer any questions and set expectations about the treatment. Having the pins inserted was a bit of a new experience! (Not painful, just different!) Within about a week, I saw noticeable improvement with my shoulder. It’s been about 3 months now, and I’ve been quite happy with the results.
A nice little surprise: if you provide your insurance information in advance, they can check your coverage and copay information before you even come-​in.

Kirk is an incredible accupuncturist. His knowledge of how the systems in the body communicate and what links them all together is amazing. I went to him with what i had been told was planters. And after yesterdays visit im am extatic to say this mornig was the first time in forever it didnt hurt to step out of bed. I was in a crisis last week, suffering from a bad episode of lower back pain and sciatica related issues. I have tried many health care professionals and healers in the past… none were as helpful as Kirk, (not even close!), he actually got me out of an acute state after the first session!
I am continuing treatment now to relieve the ongoing numbness issues in my right foot. I feel very safe at this care, I know and trust he’s the right person to help me with this.

I had treatment for exercise induced strain on legs, feet, back and hips. The acupuncturist knew exactly what muscles were causing me pain and he was to relieve the pain in one session. The environment was professional, clean and healing. Kirk, the acupuncturist was knowledgeable, professional and thorough with a great bed side manor.

Kirk is my miracle worker. I have been having some pain in my leg and he has patiently been finding its problem. He explains his plan of treatment and continually asks for feedback during it.
Since I have been receiving his help, I have been able to stop using ibuprofen while I walk my dog. I’ll keep visiting for maintenance.

New (better) location, same amazing provider! I started going to Uptown Acupuncture about a year and half ago due to bad TMJ pain and headaches. Being skeptical that acupuncture could help, I went to my first appointment and Kirk immediately put me at ease. It took a couple treatments to get things under control; but, things have improved significantly. The TMJ pain will sometimes come back but it is not as bad and goes away very soon after (if not during!) a treatment. Kirk has also been able to help with intense sinus issues, upper respiratory infection and other things that can come up here and there. Full of life, kind, understanding, calming and most importantly extremely helpful.

I have never had acupuncture before. Went to see Kirk about my right hand. It felt amazing and such a relief from pain that I constantly felt. I have gone about 3 times now and feel great after each treatment. He also stretched and massaged my hand muscles after the acupuncture. I am definitely coming back for future treatments. I highly recommend him.

I first saw Kirk last year with a chronic hamstring tendinopathy. I noticed an immediate benefit but only got a couple treatments before resorting to a more aggressive (but also effective) approach … PRP injections. Last month, when my hamstring flared up again full force, I was devastated and feared another several months of injury and another set of painful injections. Instead, I called Kirk and he got me in right away. After my first treatment I noticed a huge improvement and after a series of visits (about twice weekly for three weeks) my hamstring was 100% back to normal. In just that short time I went from being unable to run without intense pain to running a half marathon pain-​free. The man is truly a miracle worker. I only regret not having seen him years ago when my chronic hamstring pain first began.
This weekend, I decided all this health was just too much and therefore smashed my foot into a concrete wall while running (yes, I am *that* clumsy). As my potentially sprained or fractured foot began to swell and show a gorgeous rainbow of burgundy and violet, I knew a visit with Kirk was critical. He got me in right away and — like usual — went above and beyond the call of duty. He is not simply an acupuncturist, but is an all-​around healer. His tactic is not crystals and magic (as he says!), but rather, he takes a rational, integrative, individualized approach towards healing the body by whatever means necessary. When I shared my concern over a possible fracture, he arranged an X-​ray with his colleague that same visit. Yes, he’s an acupuncture genius, but he also incorporates electrical stimulation (which can be wonderfully intense!), soft tissue therapy (massage and active release), Chinese medicine and kinesio taping. What’s more, Kirk is exactly the type of person you want jabbing needles into you. He listens attentively and involves you in every step of the therapy, continually asking for your feedback and guidance along the way. He’s a genuinely caring individual, and always manages to lift my spirits with his positivity and great sense of humor!
As for some logistics, he’s moved to a new location (as of April 2015) which is wonderful. The place is clean and professional with comfortable, cozy acupuncture rooms. He shares an office with two chiropractors, including Dr. McKinney who (thanks to Kirk’s recommendation) also helped tremendously with my hamstring injury. I believe Kirk takes insurance if your plan covers acupuncture, but if it not he’s far more reasonable than other rates I’ve seen.
If you’re in pain — be it from a sudden sports injury or just the stresses of daily life — give Kirk a call. Or don’t and leave more Kirk-​time for me!

I like your new location, its very convenient. I cannot say enough about Kirk at uptown acupuncture. New location, but same results. 6 years ago I found Kirk and Uptown Acupuncture after hitting a dead-​end with traditional medical care. I have 2 distinct auto-​immune diseases that cause all kinds of issues, mainly pain, that could not be managed with high-​dosage painkillers. I was also told I would need a surgery on my esophagus to continue to eat and breathe… that was not my plan. I didn’t expect acupuncture to be the answer, but I was wrong. I thought it would hurt… also very wrong. 6 years later and I have had no surgeries and take less painkillers than in the last 20 years. Kirk is amazing at personalizing treatments. He took the time to listen to my endless amount of medical history and talked through a treatment plan with me. Over the years we’ve focused on new issues that pop up without a problem. I recommend Kirk Pfeiffer to anyone I meet.
