This place is amazing. The most wonderfully breathtaking selection of tiles I’ve seen in San Diego. Showroom is well laid out and easy to navigate.
I had a great time with designers Donna and Stacey. They were both so helpful and super fun! If you are looking for special tile, this is the place!

I went to a lot of tile stores looking for a shade of green subway tile that wasn’t olive or blue-​green. They carry the Pratt & Larson line which has an amazing range of colors. Finally found what I wanted. I did find they have truly unique tiles here than many of the other, bigger tile stores.
Service was fine and my order arrived on time.

We LOVE this place! We have scoured San Diego for the best quality tile and reasonable prices, and this place is incredible. I wish we had found them earlier in our renovation, as we wasted time and money with lots of other places (I literally was told by another tile place up off Morena that they didn’t care to give me a bid since it didn’t seem worth their time). Ask for Alexandra, she has been a fantastic help to us and we will be referring everyone we know here! :)

You can look and look but you just won’t find the level of quality stone and tile that unique stone offers their clients. I have used them to completely remodel my kitchen, 2 bathrooms and a mudroom. My parents just built a gorgeous pool using incredible products from unique stone. Small project or big, they are ready to help you out. David is the owner and is hands on and incredibly talented. He will work with you and for you. Chris in the back is fantastic — customer service is great. I have been to every other tile/​stone place in SD and found nothing even close to the slab selection that unique stone has. As with every aspect of construction, you need to build in time for delays in lead times. That is part of the game. It’s also important to remember that the vibe you put out is generally the vibe you will get back in life! I love Unique Stone and won’t use anyone else!

What a wonderful experience we had working with David and his team at Unique Stone! We are remodeling our 1928 Spanish Colonial home in La Jolla, and needed lots of Mexican tiles, as well as countertops for the kitchen and bathrooms. All 3 baths are fully tiled in different designs and colors, and David was such a great help in helping us make our choices, and being able to help us visualize what each would look like. He also pointed out that, since the tiles we wanted are made to order, that we could have custom colors done at no extra cost, so we were able to design exactly what we wanted, and we are so pleased with how they came out. The staff is always patient and pleasant, and everyone we dealt with was good at what they do, returning calls promptly and providing the information we needed. It’s a joy to work with a company like this.
I can only assume that the negative reviewers had other issues, as I can’t imagine this group treating anyone with less than full respect. No matter what type or size project you are doing, you should definitely go here. Great selection of tiles, slabs, etc, and nice, efficient people to deal with.
PS Our first order was about $ 4,000 and they treated us the same then as they did when we ended up spending about $ 40,000.

Recently my wife and I decided to remodel our home, with no knowledge of where to go or who to hire, we set out on what amounted to a journey. I would have never believed how much work was involved even if my best friend told me. After having less than favorable experiences with more than a few stores I found Unique Stone Imports.
Tucked back off Morena Blvd near the Interstate 5 and 8 freeways’ is one of the best stone stores I have been to. The inventory is awesome, so many different types of stone you would not believe. This is just the tip of the iceberg.
While there we found out they do design work too. All of the sales reps are educated in the design field and offer their services at no charge when purchasing material from them. That in itself was a blessing in disguise.
One drawback is the prices. They are a little higher than most but the quality of the material plus their willingness to help out more than make up for this. This company took on problems that most companies would not. All in all my wife and I had a great experience mainly due to the kind and attentive staff.
I would recommend them to my friends and family. Don’t hesitate to stop by this gem of a store.

If you’re looking for some beautiful tiles and stones, this is a good place. if you want any semblance of customer service, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. At first, they told me the tiles were coming from LA and would be available in 2 days. Then, they told me they were coming from San Francisco and it would take 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, when no one had called, I called 5 times before I could get anyone to talk to and was told that the tiles were unavailable. Second order — they told me the tiles would arrive in a week, then the manager told me that she didn’t understand why I was told that, because they wouldn’t be in until the following week. Through it all, no one offered any apology. They did sell me the second tiles at the same price as the first. I wish I had gone somewhere else.

Everyone I have met in this store is very helpful and enthusiastic about their job. I’m still on the search for what I am looking for, but I enjoyed looking with them the best. I brought in a picture and idea of my project, and they jumped right on it with suggestions. I felt that they have a wide selection of quality, natural stones as well. I don’t really give 5 stars ever, but would definitely give them 4.5 :)
