So I pulled up on Friday, September 11th in the express drive up banking area. It’s an extremely hot day for us spoiled San Diegans so I figured I would sit in the luxury of my vehicles air conditioning and try the banking. Bad decision! Lol. I only rant and rave when my experience is amazing, or horrible… And this was pathetic! Smh Union Bank. I’m going inside next time what a joke!

We moved our money to Mission Federal Credit Union. Took 3 branch visits and 4 phone calls to get them to stop billing us a $ 9 service fee after we «closed» our account with them. Meh… service level was inadequate.

I have been in there a few times and things didn’t seem as bad as some of the other reviews suggest. Usually when I go in, there is no other customers in the branch so service is always top notch.
Atmosphere: Seems like they keep it pretty clean and there is usually a guard standing outside watching over things.
Nothing really special about this bank, but hey, it’s just a bank. As long as they don’t lose my money, then we’re cool.

This branch is awesome! I came in to open an account because my work makes me do direct deposit. i didn’t even know about this promotion and the banker guy was nice enough to tell me that i qualified for free $ 50 when i had my payroll check deposited into my account. he was very professional and answered all my questions. i definitely recommend doing your banking here

I used to live in the neighborhood, and got a flyer in the mail one day offering me $ 50 if I opened a checking account, so I did. I have a part-​time job that doesn’t have direct deposit, so I tend to use the night depository to deposit the check., rather than stand in line
I discovered that Union Bank keeps their night depositories locked. When I went into the bank to ask about it, I was informed that you have to have a business account in order to use them. Then they will give you a key for one night depository at the branch of your choice.
I then closed out the account, which was a waste of time and energy to begin with.

I hate this branch of the Union Bank. The staff are super unprofessional, half of them barely speak english! not that i have a problem with that– it’s fine– i support immigration and multi-​culturalism, but i once had difficulty completing a wire transaction because the clerk couldn’t follow the directions on the form. anyway.
even though i ran my small business out of their branch for two years they never ever «recognized» me. lame. they are most comfortable cashing welfare checks.
As soon as I moved my office from golden hill to downtown i dropped this branch. Avoid!
