I got a Tri Club membership for Christmas(only $ 60) and it is one of the best gifts ever. The club has free monthly races(duathlons, aquathons, and/or triathlons) so you can practice before dropping dollars on a race entry. They have workouts every day of the week in various locations throughout San Diego County. I have met so many wonderful people, from beginners like me to professional triathletes and everyone in between. If you have ever considered doing a triathlon, you should join the club for the great advice, coaching, training sessions, food, etc. The discounts on gear and race entries alone will easily cover the dues.

Best tri club in the world and one of my favorite sports clubs. For measly $ 70 a year, you get awesome races, awesome club meetings, food at every race, connections, people to train with, and everything in between. It is seriously the reason I’m not in last place in every race.

Come on now, would you expect anything less of a club based in the birthplace of the sport that it’s devoted to? The tri club is awesome. Everyone in the group is very friendly and is always willing to help out. For beginners to the sport, there’s no better move than signing up for the club right away so that you can reap the benefit of combined decades of experience in the sport. The group workouts are fun and friendly. Overall, it’s easily the best money I spend on my sport every year…

The Triathlon Club of San Diego(TCSD) rules. If you are a seasoned triathlete or just a beginner, they offer events, training, support and socials for everyone! This is the Triathlon capital of the world, after all! Since I’m a beginner triathlete… I joined them for my first open-water swim. Happens every Thursday night during the season. Jonathan organized this swim in Coronado-Glorietta Bay. Most times, though, it’s located in De Anza Cove in Mission Bay. Great instruction, practice, coaching all in a safe environment. Three trainers total to keep an eye of forty of us swimmers! Next, the transition workshop was perfect. Great practice and coaching. There was a beginner bike ride beginning in Carmel Valley. Bummer … I missed it ’cause of my angel baby. BUT the list of rides is plentiful … there’s another ride every weekend from Starbucks in Del Mar where they segregate levels of expertise and are open to riders of any level! Every Wednesday night during the season, there is a bike ride on Fiesta Island with coaching! Lastly, every Tuesday night, in season, there’s a Track Run. There’s so many events, rides, swims, runs everywhere and every level. I’ve just listed a few. Check out their web site for more info. Or sign-up for Yahoo! Groups notifications that is sent to all members that highlights activities and vital information as well as conversations and recommendations. Membership is only $ 60 a year and worth every penny IF you participate! Also, most of the shops I’ve listed offer either 10% or 15% off of their bikes and merchandise with a TRI-CLUB membership card. Hope to see you at some upcoming events!
