Trader Joe’s

I used to shop at Vons, Ralphs, and other lame grocery stores. However after stumbling across this magic location I’ve never turned anywhere else. they have tons of locally grown & organic produce. They have everything you need.
Plus they have a new food samples every time i go there!. lets be real i only go there for the free samples, groceries are just a bonus. ;)

Ugh. Over 10 minutes to find parking, another 10 in line… 40 plus minutes to get out due to crowds?
Go to the liberty station trader joes to avoid the hassle.

I must admit every Trader Joes that I have visited have provided excellent service. Trader Joe’s is my number one location when to comes to gathering my weekly groceries. This location seems to be slightly bigger than the location in Hillcrest but be careful on the time that you select to do your groceries. Today it took me almost 20 minutes to get to check out considering there were over 30 people in line. I must say that the cashiers handle the humongous lines like we were at Disneyland. Polite and what is smell very efficient Thank you for the good service

Am I in the Twilight Zone?
If I wasn’t sufficiently bummed enough that they were out of some of my favorites (veggie eggrolls, for one), the cashier/​bagger duo in the cash only line just gave me a crash course in unprofessionalism.
After the girl bagging my falafel wrap mumbled sleepily, «mmm, maybe that sounds good…», the cashier made a grossed out face and said, «it’s not!» Oh… Okay. I like it… quite a bit, which is why I’m BUYING it.
I went from «huh» to «wtf» in about two seconds flat when the bagger proceeded to show the cashier her hand and complain about an open wound! Then she looked out the window and made some comment about parking. I didn’t catch exactly what she said but it was with the whiny intonation usually reserved for teenagers.
Hi, guys. Still here. Tryna give you my money and get the heck away from your open wounds and negative commentary about the contents of my shopping cart.
I’ve never had such a rude checkout experience here. Not at all what I’ve come to expect from Trader Joes.

Love it because it’s right next to Ulta. I can finish off 2 errands in 1 drive. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful! I’ve gotten so much assistance here, with obscure odd requests and recently I was cashed out in record time while everyone else was waiting in 7 aisles of people 12 deep to pay with credit! The selection is standard TJs and almost everything is pre-​packaged of course. My only complaint is not their fault– it’s just that since its in MV, lots of kids get dragged there (I leave mine at home or school when I go). My legs have been smashed and run over by so many of those damn kid carts– parents are never paying attention. Or there at babies screaming uncontrollably because they’re stuck in one of those baby Bjorns and I usually park around the corner by Active, which is way easier than driving up and down the lanes.

Always have loved this store. We really miss not having one in Big Bear, but it’s great to be able to come down to this one when we visit San Diego. Always a great selection and really friendly staff.

Close to work for my quick grocery beer and wine needs. I love their selection of cheeses as well. When I go to a potluck I usually pick up fresh fruit, cheese, flowers and wine from here.
Just like any TJ’s they have tons of healthy snacks, nuts and dried fruits that I like to pick up for the boy. The girl loves the puffins from there. I enjoy sampling the coffee and snacks… I usually end up buying them. Today was chicken tortilla soup, guess what we had for dinner.
The Trader Joe brand yogurt mango/​peach cream is a must every trip. If you haven’t had it try it. Cookie butter anything makes my heart go pitter patter, recently it was the cookie butter cheesecake. So damn good!
Only problem with this store is parking, it’s in a strip mall with a lot of other stuff so be prepared for a struggle.

Always enjoy going to a Trader Joe’s store and I love this location!
This store is clean, organized and it’s easy to find what you’re looking for. The parking for this location can be a bit tricky because of all the other stores and restaurants that are around it, but well worth finding a spot so you can go in and see what the store has.
Like many other Trader Joe’s this location has a good variety of foods to choose from that are healthy and wonderful to cook and eat.
I’ve found a few ideas on dinner just walking down a couple isles and they were a hit when dinner was made!
I just love the fact that you can shop around the area and when you’re done just pick up food here and take it home!

It’s PUMPKIN time at Trader Joes!
I wasn’t a huge fan of Trader Joe’s until people started bringing back really cool stuff for me. So now, like everyone else from Hawaii, I try to make a Trader Joe’s stop every time I make it to the mainland. This Mission Valley location was huge with lots of parking and aside from the usual goodies, there were lots of PUMPKIN items. I had to get a suitcase just to bring back all the pumpkin stuff I ended up buying. I splurged on pumpkin, Gluten Free stuff, and spices.
PUMPKIN!
PUMPKIN SPICE COOKIE BUTTER! Pumpkin pop tarts, Pumpkin macarons (gluten free!), Pumpkin butter, pumpkin pancake mix (gluten free!), pumpkin MOCHI ICE CREAM!, pumpkin fruitcake bread, and more. I bought every single pumpkin item except the pumpkin mochi ice cream. I love pumpkin!
GLUTEN FREE!
Trader Joe’s also carries a lot of gluten free items, which have all been brought to my attention by fellow Unilocalers Chad O and Kyle H when they brought back stuff like the Snickerdoodles (gluten, dairy, and nut free) and the almond flour. If not for them, I probably wouldn’t even be going to Trader Joe’s.
SPICES.
In Hawaii it costs anywhere between $ 5 – 10 for certain spices. Trader Joes carries a full line of spices that start at $ 1.99. Their garlic salt, for instance, is garlic. and salt… in a grinder! Some garlic salts sold in supermarkets have sugar in the garlic salt, but not here. I love the quality of the spices and I hand carried a bunch of them back in my carryon.
After my daughter went through my Trader Joe’s suitcase, I have two jars of pumpkin cookie butter left to give away. I don’t know what happened to the rest of the stuff.

This is a nice and small store
but it can get busy and crowded.
Although this store is busy most
of the time I’ve been here.
There have been a few times
where we walk in and it’s
been quiet but then again the
store starts filling up with
customers again.
They also have plants, flowers
and herbs outside and they
have a pretty big selection to
choose from.
There’s seating outside and it’s
nice to sit out there especially
when it’s not hot.
The concrete benches can get
hot during hot and humid days.
The staff is informative
about their products they have
and love to hear feedback.
The prices are quite nice and you
could go into any other grocery
stores and your mouth drops at
how expensive it was and say we
could’ve gotten that cheaper at
Trader Joe’s. (LAUGHS)!
It gets pretty hectic during
checkout when it gets busy but
everybody moves along quickly.
The cashiers know how to
strike up a conversation but
my only one critique. I wish
they wouldn’t pack the
paper bags heavily and when
I’ve asked if they can pack
them lightly the request wasn’t
answered.

I love this location! It’s a bit smaller than some of the others, but it has everything you’ll need here. It’s fall time, so they have all of the pumpkin spice products out!
Scones, cheesecake, pies, pop tarts, seeds and everything nice! They also have a big section of flowers right by the entrance which is nice because you can get a dozen mums or sunflowers for under 5 bucks. (At my work we charge 5 bucks a STEM for the same quality that these guys are getting).
Overall, the staff is extremely kind and welcoming, the prices are cheap and better quality as opposed to Vons, and it has such a great vibe and such unique selection of goods. A+ trader joes!

Nice big, open location. And of course the very helpful and friendly staff. We were in MV on buisness and decided to shop here instead of the East Lake local we usually frequent. Same selection just more spread out, tons of checkout isles. That’s what impressed us most, like 8 isles and they were all open but one. This is 1 on a Thursday… you ever see that at Vons or Albertsons?

Every Trader Joes I’ve been too has demonstrated consistently good service and quality of products and this one is no exception.
I shop here at least once a week to pick up smaller or harder to find things I can’t get at Costco. For example, they have a good number of options for chips, including kale, veggie based, and an assortment of corn tortillas. The particular product I never leave without are their sandwich cream cookies (think Oreos). Much tastier than other brands and a couple bucks cheaper too. TJ’s often has free samples of their products as well. The cashiers are always in a good mood and seem genuinely interested when they make small talk with you. I’ve been recommended a few products by the staff and I can tell they thoroughly enjoy and indulge themselves in the products they sell, which is good.
Another thing I never leave without is beer. I LOVE that they give you the option to build your own 6 pack or buy individual beers. This is great for sampling or drinking certain beers in progression. They also have super cheap Simpler Times beer. A 6 will run you less than $ 5, which is awesome if your drinking on a budget. Specially considering that the abv is around 6%. My only gripe with the beer section is that they hardly ever have new products. They’ll occasionally get a couple new bombers or local craft beer, but nothing to make me drive there.
Overall, great experiences. Would recommend. Would come back.

Always a favorite!
Met a cute couple in line that caught me eyeing up the dark chocolate peanut butter cups. They told me not to try it cause they are looking for a support group to help them with their current butter cup problem…
Curiosity killed the cat! Hope those guys found a support group and send word my way!

I ran in to pick up some French bread and fresh basil for tonight’s dinner –beef stew– and had the nicest guy in produce help me out. I only needed about 4 – 5 basil leaves.
The customer service never ceases to amaze me at this Trader Joe’s. Thank you so much!

I LOVE TRADER JOE’S !!!
They have specific items that I can only get here, but this particular location sure is busy busy.
It’s central and near many businesses so I can see how parking can be horrendous. Parking lots are also tight squeezes. Not only that, but people can’t park and tend to occupy 2 parking spots. HELLOOOO !! Have a little courtesy please. Ugh. So I tend to circle around a few times until I find a confident spot to park at. I don’t want my car getting dinged !
After that madness it’s more of a breeze when it comes to shopping. This TJ is close to work so I can get my grocery shopping done ahead of time. A much older TJ and not that spacious as the Carmel Valley location. I love their selection of flowers and I hear they get their orchids daily. It’s the first thing I always notice when I walk into TJ. No wonder I am always in awe of how beautiful they are here. So fresh, colorful, and vibrant ! I had to buy a few to decorate my new office space.
All TJ’s are usually structured the same. The OCD in me always gets the same items too, but from time to time I will step out of my norm if a new product peaks my interest. I’m currently in love with their organic cauliflower rice in the frozen section. Super cheap too ! I add it to my cooked veggies and it is another alternative to grains. Super good ! Top it with Bragg’s liquid aminos or coconut aminos and you’re ready to have a party in yo mouth !
I’m also obsessed with anything ‘freeze dried’ and TJs has a great selection and better priced compared to other grocery stores. Mango, banana, strawberries, and apples are my go-to’s to munch on. Plus, it’s super healthy ! I always crave these, especially if I want something crunchy to munch on.
Great selection of veggies and fruits. Wish they had more organic produce, but I do appreciate their unique TJ branded items hence their salsa ! I use it on everything ! Pre-​made meals are available for those too lazy to cook. I also like their fresh juices like grapefruit and tangerine. They also have the best canned pineapple juice and it tastes like FRESH pineapple ! The BEST !!!
Customer service has been wonderful. I find that most TJ employees are the happiest compared to other grocery store chains out there. You can tell they are treated well and it shows ! They are quite the conversationalists too.
I’ll definitely make this a regular stop during my lunch break. Customer fo’ life !

I’ll start this review by saying that Trader Joe’s has been the main grocery store that I’ve shopped at for the last 5 years of my life (even back in my home state of Delaware). I love everything about it! First off, how can you beat the prices for such high quality foods? I’ve never had anything from the frozen or prepackaged section that I didn’t love and the produce prices are better than at the farmer’s markets! I’m someone who extensively scrutinizes my food labels and I love that most of the time all of the ingredients here are on the up and up. And I still get just as excited to visit the sample counter as I did when I was a kid grocery shopping with my parents!
In terms of this particular TJ’s, it’s not my preferred one in the area because of the parking. Unless you go in the middle of a work day, it’s very difficult to find parking here and the spots are teeny tiny. The parking lot itself is difficult to navigate because you can’t get out if you go down certain lanes. I also don’t like the layout of this TJ’s for some reason. Things are in different places than I’m used to compared to other locations. One GREAT thing about this location is that a lot of the time they’ll have 2 – 3 samples laid out as opposed to 1 at most other TJ’s.

Came here to pick up some items for dinner earlier tonight. Love this location, it’s closer to home and parking is easier to find. This store has a friendly staff, it’s clean, and always well stocked. I’m a huge fan of TJ’s.

I love this Trader Joes too much. Is that even a thing? Its my luck that i usually go in the evenings and A. Find quick parking and B. they are fully stocked on all my favorite items.
What are my favorite items you ask? A lot of things… way too many things. So I find myself speaking in third person. «Lunch. Only lunch items. Do you REALLy need this?» Etc.
I love their salads. LOVE. They are perfect for work. My top 3 would be: The Mega Crunchy Salad, Broccoli slaw & kale with White Chicken Meat, and the Chicken Salad. Among that, other «regulars» include pita chips & hummus, 0% greek yogurt, unsweetened almond milk, oh and don’t forget fruits and veggies kids!
I feel like there is something here for everyone. Prices are not bad like some people assume. Guys, they have beer for you, and girls. Wine for you.
Beware of the sweets aisle. Do not come on an empty stomach, I repeat. Do not come on an empty stomach.
There are always new items, especially during holidays. Love coming in and finding new things. Associates are everywhere, they are friendly and always willing to help.
