I have been going to the 7 – 11 in Normal Heights every morning for months at 4 am for my coffee before I start my work shift. I smile, say good morning and the man working in the store just absolutely ignores me. He acts like he is put out because he has to collect my money while he running around cleaning the store. I am glad it is so clean but without the customers the clean store is going to do you no good. He is rude, nasty mean and very disrespectful. This morning was the last straw. I saw a homeless man freezing in the cold and I asked him if he would like a cup of coffee, I would pay for it. He was clean and not drunk just homeless. We went into the store and said good morning to the man and he just gave us both a dirty look. When I went to pay for my coffee I held up my IPhone to have him scan it and he gave me the dirtiest look and just stood there. I said please scan this. Then when I paid for the homeless mans coffee I asked him to scan it again and he said in the nastiest tone, no you only get one scan. I said no I get a scan for each cup of coffee I purchase and I asked him what his problem was. That every morning when I came in he was always in a bad mood. He said, I am very busy. I said too busy to smile and say good morning to your customers. I told him that he was the meanest most unfriendly person I have ever encountered at a 7 – 11 and I wanted his name. He is like this every morning and no one should have to put up with that rudeness at 4 am. He said his name is Pancho but I don’t know. I could not let it go one more day. I also told him that he didn’t have the right to treat the man who’s coffee I purchased with such disrespect and although he may be down on his luck he is a beloved child of God just like him and deserves for no other reason to be treated with respect and compassion. I told him I was going to write to 7 – 11 and if he hated his job so much maybe he should be a janitor where he could just clean and not have to be nice to people. I will never go to that store again. He is aweful. The day people are lovely around 3 when I have gone in there. You need to get someone in there first thing in the morning who doesn’t hate people.

I have been going to this 7 – 11 since it opened. It’s walking distance from work and every team member here is awesome. Except for the girl that works midshifts. she never smiles. The store Manager is a good guy as well and provides excellent customer service. Opening this 7 – 11 at this location was a great idea and it does lots and lots of business. Need a slurpee? Stop on by.
