Tony’s Lube N’ Tune

Came in to see Tony and his team for a quick oil change, they had it ready for me the same day! I also asked him to check over my car for any glaring issues as it was a older used car bought recently. I’m glad I did, I went to another place recently and they had not aligned the wheels properly, they had worn down so much on the inside they were about to go! He also found the engine mount was completely gone and needed to be replaced which is why my car vibrated so much! I had asked the previous mechanic multiple times to check over the car and he said everything was fine! I also wanted a missing emblem for the front of my car, I had asked the previous place, 4 times over a couple of weeks as they replaced the grill but forgot the emblem! I asked Tony about it and in front of me he jumped on the phone and had it ordered in 2 minutes!!! Needless to say with the service and help received from Tony I won’t be going anywhere else except Tony’s Lube N Tube!

I have trusted Tony with my car care for years and refer all friends, family and anyone I know who needs a good, HONEST, fair and caring mechanic. I have heard many people praise him as a Saint but Tony is a humble man. Tony can quickly analyze any car issues, makes recommendations to keep your car running smoothly and has a GREAT memory for what your car needs. I wish that there were 100 Tony’s, that he had a bigger place and that he was open ²⁴⁄₇ so I would always be able to get my cars serviced by him regardless of where I was. Tony is NOT out to make a buck from your car problems. He is there to provide the best service for the best price and will GIVE you something FREE rather than be like those other places that want to charge you for even looking at your car. He knows his stuff and will take GREAT care of you and everyone that you refer to him. THE BEST IN SAN DIEGO!!!

Tony is just amazing. I had a hard time finding a decent, reliable and friendly place for my car maintenance for a long time. Been going to tony’s for regular service, fixing complicated issues and even did a bumper repair recently. Would definitely recommend this place.

Tony does his best to look at your problem and come up with the best solution for you. He will work with you to get the job done. He kept my toyota PU running for 250K and if I don’t do the repairs myself this is where I bring it.

The only person I trust with my car! Only place I take my car for oil changes or anything my car needs. Tony is the most trustworthy and honest person.

I have an 05 lancer Evo and towed it to Tony’s. He took one look under the hood and knew exactly what the problem was. Quoted me $ 500 for over 9 hours worth of labor. If you have any type of high performance car, Evo, STI, anything with a turbo, Tony is the best in the west. Will defiantly continue to come to him for all of my maintenance needs. Also sitting on the dyno was his 850 HP Evo 8 with a parachute equipped on the back. Very sexy

I have know tony for a while thru mutual friends and customers. I have refered coworkers, family and friends there, but i never had to use him till now. I needed to have the motor mounts replaced on my 02 mercedes e320. I looked up online to see how to do it, but figured it would be easier at a shop. There were some tips and tricks I found while on the net and when I went to tonys to get a quote, he already knew them. With the knowledge he had on my car and the low price on the work, I decided to get it done.
Tony not only got me taken care of in a timely matter, but he looked at what else would needed to be changed. I also noticed that he would show the customers exactly what his mechanics were doing with their cars and the parts he is changing or have changed. He is one of the few honest no bullshit mechanics left around town. So if you need work done, I recommend to give tony a shot.

I’ve been coming to Tony for a couple of years now, and he is always straight forward and honest. I always worry about having my Wife take her car in some where without me, but Tony has always been respectful. He does what needs to be done, and does not hard sell trying to get other work done.

Tony is a class act. Not only did he save me from buying a new engine but he corrected errors others made. His crew is top notch. He definitely made me feel like family. I will be back!!!

THEE best auto repair shop in town. hands down. Tony is a great guy, honest and immediately diagnosed the problem with my motor mounts on my Xterra without telling you to repair this and that. Now my SUV runs like new! His staff is excellent too! I’ve been going to him a few times now and definitely will bring and refer people to his shop. Bring your car to him and he’ll definitely take care of you.

Tony shop was great experience. I had my brakes checked and serviced there after having some vibration during breaking on the freeway. I also had some issues with my parking brake. They did a great job on my brakes. They feel a lot better and parking brake feels like new. He recommended some things for the future and I will probably be back to have my service done there again.

I’ve been going to Tony since he’s been in the Chula Vista location. He services practically anything, and any specialty related vehicles (Evos and Subarus). His shop consists of plenty of Mitsubishi Evos because his son is a well known tuner and they have a dyno machine at the section of their shop. But do not be discouraged. Just because there are tuner vehicles doesn’t mean that’s all they do. This morning i was there with my Subaru to have something changed out and all turned out well. There was a dodge diesel, a Volvo, a 4Runner, and a Tiburon all getting serviced. So with the variety of cars in service you can definitely tell the man knows his stuff. AND there was an X5 BMW too so obviously he beats the dealer in terms of parts and labor. The mechanics there have probably been with him since coming from the Chula Vista location. Don’t judge them though. They know it all, if you have a problem with a car from electrical, to parts replacement, this is the place to go. I paid nearly 80% off what I was supposed to at the dealership this morning. He’ll hook you up. Just one thing though, the drive lot is very crowded because of all the tuner cars. But you will find a place to park and have a word with Tony about your problem. It does get busy there especially if their oil-​change line is 3 – 4 cars in line. But he is honest and will let you know that he can either get it done today, or tomorrow. He won’t sugar coat it because he knows his business is very busy. Talked it up with him this morning about his son versus all the haters about dyno tuning. Probably the fastest Evo in SoCal, if not the whole state. Kudos to the Sawaya men and giving outstanding customer service. Makes me wanna get an Evo: p

As all others before have said, Tony is the BEST! Him and his crew of mechanics are trusty, dependable, and prompt. I became a believer as the Subie dealership i used to frequent, was taking an hour and a half for scheduled oil change (s). I chose this shop for the convenience near my school, before ever reading the reviews! His shop has finished my oil changes under 30 minutes every time. Tony himself is personable, professional, and honest. You can tell he is passionate and knowledgable about cars! His customer service is above par. Hence the reason why i will be coming back for my larger car maintenance needs. It also helps that his prices are lower than the dealer’s shop. I dont normally say this everr but I LOVE MY MECHANIC!

Tony and his crew are nothing short of amazing! Being new to the area, I was very fearful that I was going to get ripped off by a mechanic when my car overheated. A friend at work referred Tony to me and I was incredibly impressed. He and his staff were not only friendly and professional, but it’s also evident that they have a passion for the industry. I never felt like they were going to take advantage of me due to my lack of knowledge when it comes to car repairs.
After I dropped my car off, Tony said they would call that day to let me know the diagnosis. Later in the day when I knew they were about to close and I still hadn’t heard anything, I was slightly worried. However, a little later in the evening, Tony called me just like he had promised even though his shop had closed for the day a few hours prior because he said he gave me his word that he would call that same day.
I wish I could do more to show my appreciation besides leaving a 5-​star review, but for now, this will have to do in addition to me referring everyone I know to this shop and vowing to only bring my car here whenever I need anything in the future.

Wow what amazing customer service I’ve received coming here for my oil change. I had called ahead to make sure they would have time for me on my hour lunch break. I came in and Tony remembered me from when I had called in. Shook his hand, he was very nice and went over pricing with me before they started working on my car. They are cheaper then jiffy lube in my opinion. I will definitely be coming back for future services and recommending them to others. Thank you to the whole crew for a great experience!

Tony is the only person I trust my cars to. He is always friendly and treats his costumers right. You can tell he has a passion for cars. He works hard to get parts at good prices and never tries to charge you for services you don’t need.
I had my girlfriend start bringing her 4Runner to Tony’s shop because I know they’ll treat her fairly.

I haven’t been here in months. Yet, Tony the owner, still remembers me, my car and what I needed to fix in my car. Not only does he have impeccable memory and knowledgable in his line of work, he’s also a friendly face. I would recommend anyone to his shop!

You would think an Oil change is a pretty routine service that many of us, have we the space to do so and time to recycle our used oil properly, could do on our own. Unfortunately, I have the knowledge, but no space and less time which places me at the mercy of Jiffy, Econo, Super and a whole slew of Lube joints on the map. My car is relatively new, but I noticed a small puddle of oil after pulling out of a parking stall. In true form I did not panic, but Immediately started searching for a lube shop close to where I was. My trust Unilocal Ap directed me to Tony’s Lube N’ Tune. This is definitely one of those «Don’t judge a book by its cover» kind of places. Unlike a regular lube shop, they perform a variety of other auto repair and like a restaurant with a long wait, all the cars in the lot were a good sign that this guy knows his stuff.
I have a newer car that basically has an odometer for an oil change which cycles about every 10,000 miles. What I did not know until Tony told me so is that it is completely useless and should never be followed unless I want to destroy my car. Fortunately, the leak came as a result of my oil filter coming loose and not something major. Tony checked the specs for my car to ensure it had enough to drink, used OEM Motorcraft oil and cleaned up the mess my loose oil filter made on the undercarriage. You are in good hands at this shop. I will not take my car anywhere else for an oil change.

I came back to Tony’s Lube N’ Tune because my mother’s car needed a battery change, and again Tony and his team delivered with excellence once again!
What services performed: battery swap.
Pros:
–Fast service! Their parking lot looked super packed but they still fit me in without hesitation.
–Price was good! It cost me about $ 100 to get it changed out the door [a battery itself costs around that price].
–Saw my friend Carlo [who lives 20 mins north] walk in the shop an hour later, realizing that he drives sort of out of his way to service his car here.
Tips:
–The lot gets BUSY because many Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution owners [and many tuners] come here to tune their car.
Conclusion: Great service with a good price!

Tony always has time to look at your car and give you the low down without making you spend mandatory ‘diagnostic’ charges and other BS when not required.

The rates are excellent, and I can’t recommend him enough. I drive from El Cajon to Tony’s, worth the drive, considering the hundred other mechanics in between.
