The Resolved Church

We love this church and the amazing, diverse people who are a part of it.
The worship is great and you can hear everyone singing along with the band. The different types of music make it appealing to everyone. From old hymns to new songs.
The sermons are so wonderful and I’ve learned so much from them. Every sermon is straight from the bible and they go through entire books of the bible (throughout months of sermons sometimes).
I’m sorry to see that someone didn’t get a great welcome at this church because the hospitality team is one of the many things that made us fall in love with this church. People sought us out to say hello and made it a point to invite us to stay and get to know more people.
The childcare is continuing to make strides to ensure the children are safe, having fun, loved and their lessons coincide with the sermon to give the families opportunities to go home and discuss what everyone learned that day at church!
Overall this place feels like home. Everything is Jesus centered and we are so thankful to have a church family that we can worship with!

First of all, I think it’s not quite right to «rate» a church. Churches are holy by God but never perfect because they are run by sinners and attended by sinners. But this is a place to go in order to thank Jesus for redeeming us all. It is sad someone had a bad experience and the rating looks bad for this wonderful church so I felt inclined to leave a 5 star.
Duane is amazing and they have a good welcoming crew that will say hi to people as they pass by. This is a bigger congregation so it is easy to feel intimidated. I hoe to become a part of this church so I can reach out to others through them.

I am so grateful for the ministry of the resolved church for me, my family and San Diego. God has used this church to minister to me and grow me in the gospel and point me to Jesus in every season of life. #jesuseverything

This church has been my home for four years now and I am so thankful for the consistently faithful Bible based preaching, Christ exalting (and just really good) music, helpful classes that are offered, and most importantly to me– the solid community and family I have become part of! No church is perfect but Jesus is and it is clear that the leadership at this church love and follow Him.

I’m sad to write this review because my husband and I really wanted to like this church. We visited the Resolved church twice. The exegesis of the text was on point and although the worship service was more like a rock concert with no one participating, we were willing to overlook that based on the mere fact that the sermon preached was really good. We have been on the hunt for a new church and based on the website and the discipleship that is offered to the men of the church we were hoping this was the place to call home. But who wants to come to the house of God and not even be greeted. That’s right not one hi from anyone. It was more like an exclusive club then a loving church family. The first time we went I thought maybe it was because it was so dark in the sanctuary that no one noticed that we were visitors, but we sat right next to the guy who did announcements and he didn’t even extend a hello and he was on the platform. YIKES! The second time we just wanted to hear a really good sermon so we went back on a Sunday night and decided we didn’t care that they were not friendly (secretly we were hoping we were wrong.) We showed up at 5:35pm service starts at 6pm and again no one outside approached us not even offered eye contact or a smile. Maybe its because my husband doesn’t have that Urban lumberjack style going on? We ended up high tailing out of there and agreed to never go back. So if this church really cares about being the light and spreading the gospel maybe they should work on showing the love of Jesus to the visitors that God brings their way. Hopefully, this review will spark some conversations and other visitors in the future will have a better experience :)

The Resolved Church is a truly Gospel-​Centered, Bible teaching church in San Diego. They are part of Acts 29 Church Planting Network. Pastor Duane is a very intelligent and competent preacher, and I could tell that the community really loved Jesus. They just moved locations, and I haven’t had the chance to go check out the new one, but this place is definitely a place to check out!
