We have an incredible selection of firearms both for rent and for sale, the most competitive prices on ammunition, and the best firearm instructors in the industry.

Our shooting range has 13 lanes, all with touchscreen, 360 degree targetry. This means that you can program your target for any distance, and you can even select programs where the target will automatically retract, come towards, and flip side to side. This allows for you to practice trigger control and real time scenarios, just as the experts do.

We are thrilled to offer the cleanest air filtration system that you will find in San Diego, and are proud to be an environmentally friendly range. Our top of the line air filtration system means that you will have the safest, cleanest shooting experience.

In addition to our range and sales counter, we offer a variety of services, including Quick Clean and Armor Clean services. Cleaning a gun can be messy business, let us do it for you while you wait. Sit back, watch tv on our 70″ tvs and have a cup of coffee at our coffee bar! This is the place you can bring your entire family, friends, or date, to enjoy a great, fun, experience together.

Established in 2014.

We are a family owned and operated business, and have a great group of staff that we consider family. Over the years, we have felt that San Diego deserved a new, clean, fun and unassuming place for the great hobby of shooting sports. We believe that everyone can learn and have a great time here, whether you have a long experience with shooting, or whether you want to learn for fun, or for personal protection. We believe that everyone should be welcomed and treated with respect, and the best customer service. We noticed that San Diego needed a friendly, clean environment that welcomes everyone, as it simply did not exist. We offer beginner and advanced classes, Women only classes, taught by female instructors, and CCW courses. Also, we offer Ladies Night, Date Night packages, and awesome deals on our Memberships. Also, we let you break up the payments over 12 months, which means you can become a Range Member for $ 22 a month! We are so excited to be open and to get to meet all of you!

This is THE BEST gun range in San Diego! Simple as that. Top-​notch folks, excellent customer service, and a modern, comfortable facility. Their level of friendliness and attentiveness is what makes them stand out from all the other ranges. Everyone there, from Justin and Veromica, to Debbie (the real boss, regardless of what she says!), to Jason, Manny, Lyle, Rob, and the rest of the staff, goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome, regardless of whether you’re a total newbie or an experienced shooter.

Nice range and friendly service but AVOID on weekends unless you feel like waiting over an hour. I am a gold member and STILL I had non members getting a lane ahead of me in spite of what the club policy rules say. Educate some of the lady staff to let gold members ahead of non member noobs who never shot a gun before. So it is frustrating because I have to come during the week to avoid the long waits. Parking is tough on weekends and limited.

I work nearby and love the convenience and prices of The Gun Range San Diego. A very large majority of the employees are knowledgeable about the firearms they sell and rent. Of course they are salesmen, but I never feel like I am having a sale shoved down my throat.
They constantly are bringing in new stock of firearms for an interesting selection. The Range itself is very nice, with one of the best ventilation systems on the market. It only starts getting warm when all the lanes are filled.
Patrons in this area tend to be busloads of foreign tourists and your standard walk-​ins. Range officers are very good at keeping things under control.

The place was great. Went on a Saturday morning and it was a bit crowded, not too bad. We were shooting about 30−40min after signing up. I just want to tell you guys the customer service was great. From the people at the register to the instructors that are walking around the range to help out with any issues you might have. We would ask a question, they would explain and get out of our way and let us do our thing. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

Took my family for the first time. We absolutely loved this place. They made everyone feel like family welcoming us from the time we walk in the door. I loved that the Safety Instructors were very patient and answered all questions and had have of tips, and really helped with my 10 & 13 year old boys. We will definitely be back. Came here multiple times with friends and fam over the holiday weekend and had a b-​b-​b-​b-​b-​blast.
Number one standout point was the staff – very friendly and accommodating. Our group had limited firearms experience but they were very helpful in their instruction, even when it got super busy.
Facilities were nice and clean. Shelves were neat, guns went bang, and they also have a coffee machine. They have a wide range of rentals ranging from basic handguns to shotguns to automatic rifles. I am in the market for a handgun so I only shot 9 mm but will certainly be back for more.
Only complaint I have is that it gets REAALLY busy. Maybe it was the holiday break but it was packed every time we went. Might help to call in and ask about their wait time before going. Regardless of all the people running around though, safety was always paramount to the staff and we never worried about our well-​being. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Perhaps I was a little too cavalier In my first review on the The Gun Range of San Diego. Maybe I was trying to be funny or irrelevant but in retrospect I came off looking like a douchebag.
This is not your normal gun range, it is a great place for new shooters to take a first step to becoming gun enthusiasts. Clean, well maintained and professionally run, the staff in not condescending to first time shooters, and are supportive and educational.
A professional staff, from the range check in, the store, transfers, rentals, and RSO’s, all my initial concerns were discussed at length with the owner, who is passionate about bringing a wide variety of people into the wonderful world of firearms.
A large selection of gun rentals from a little plinker to a hand cannon, it’s a fun place to shoot. Ya wanna have a fun time? You wanna be treated with respect, you wanna shoot a Desert Eagle? This is the range for you.

Every time I have visited this place I received nothing less than excellent service. The staffs are extremely friendly and helpful. I have stopped by the range several times to try their great variety of new guns and have been completely satisfied.
Kevin and the staff has been extremely helpful and friendly to me in recommending me great pistols. If I do ever purchase a gun, it will be right here.
This place maybe a bit pricey in terms of renting guns so prepare to spend at least $ 40 but Monday is $ 10 off rentals so that is a great time to check this place out.

I wish I wrote this review a bit earlier so I can give recognition to some of the helpful employees at this place! Let me just begin by saying that this place deserves a solid FIVE STARS.
I came with my sister and my little brother. My brother and I were first timers. If you know me at all, you’ll know that I am the biggest chicken $#IT in the world. I was pretty terrified, to say the least. They made me feel very at ease the entire time, and they thoroughly taught us safety rules in the gun range. Whenever I struggled, there was always an employee behind me to help, and super patient with us (especially me). My little brother loved the experience, and my sister felt the same way. We’ll definitely be coming back!
TIDBIT: Minors below the age of 18 need to have a signed waiver by a parent/​guardian. This form is found on their website. Don’t forget!
COST: $ 90 for our group of 3.
This included the gun, 2 packets of ammo, 3 target posters, and a lane.

Once again, GRSD does not disappoint! The woman at the counter (next time I’ll get her name) is just wonderful! She remembered me and my Dad, and we’ve visited only a few times. She recommended one of their newer guns, the Sig Sauer P229. My dad and I really liked it! I will definitely be renting that gun more.
If this is your first time at a gun range, just know that the staff and range officers will absolutely make you feel comfortable and confident in shooting at their range. They are more than happy to assist you so do not hesitate to ask. You will have a good time!
Side note: Have a good time, but please don’t be a jackhole and not display proper conduct when handling firearms. Guns are not toys! I witnessed a group of guys laughing and joking around with a rifle, not using the sights, and firing the gun all wrong which resulted in them hitting the target carrier. It made me a bit nervous to be in lane next to them. But there were plenty of range officers around to ensure everyone’s safety. And please don’t try to imitate some gangsta movies by shooting the gun with one hand. I’m surprised he didn’t cock the gun to the side to shoot. Smh

Longtime shooter, and this is hands-​down the best indoor range I’ve ever been to. I would recommend it to both beginners and experienced shooters.
I took my girlfriend here and when we left she explained that it’s «like a café, but with guns!»
The entire place, from the shooting lanes to the marble tiled bathroom (no joke) is spotless and perfectly maintained. Great selection of rental guns. Speaking as someone who works in occupational safety and health, the air filtration system in the range is exceptional.
The staff is professional, friendly, approachable and also diverse. It’s nice to walk in and not be immediately confronted by a wall of white guys with mustaches and molon labe tshirts.
They also have a rangemaster at the lanes most of the time, which is great for helping new shooters with technique or technical issues, and also great for preventing people from accidentally shooting me, so I’m a big fan.

Great place to go shooting. The range is clean and well organized and the target mechanism is really nice with it’s 180 rotation. The husband and I really like this place and will be returning.

More zombie apocalypse training…
My buddies invited me to go shooting the other night at The Gun Range. I didn’t even know about this place, but I guess it is a newer range.
I was a little early, so I got a chance to look around the place. There’s a seating area where you can watch television or watch the closed circuit recording of the lanes on another big screen. They have a merchandise area where they have an assortment of ammo, shirts, hats, gun cases, and more that you can buy. They also an area where you can look into purchasing guns if you’d like.
There are 13 lanes total, and they allow you to shoot rifles or handguns in all lanes except the outer lanes (1 and 13) where you can only shoot handguns. You can bring your own guns/​rifles or rent from them.
When my buddies got there we read the handout of rules, filled out the waiver, and gave them ID (driver’s license) and we got a lane. They offer ear and eye protection, but my buddies were prepared. We had a good time, stayed until closing.
This place is great, they have staff members in the lane areas in case you have a problem with your weapon or if you have questions. They also offer firearms training classes for anyone interested. Staff is friendly and very knowledgeable.
I wouldn’t mind coming back from time to time.

Planned a date night with my boyfriend and this is where I took him !
The lobby/​store area is nice, well-​kept, and clean. Staff are super friendly and welcoming. Although you have to be over 21 to rent out one of their hand guns in their store and at the time I wasn’t 21 yet, so the bf had to buy our handguns, ammo, protective glasses, soundproof earmuffs and the paper targets.
Going into the shooting range was a whole new experience for me. Made me nervous at first to shoot a gun for the first time but the staff are there to teach you how to hold a gun, reload your ammo, and aim at your target. I was able to get the hang of it during my second try. Its pretty exhilarating and a breath of fresh air to fire a gun in the range. It was a lot of fun and my bf and I had a wonderful experience. This facility is pretty high tech as you can control how far and how close you can shoot by the computers that are right next to you to bring your paper targets back to keep.
Always a good experience to try out if you haven’t fired a gun before !

First noticed this gun range as I was driving down Balboa Ave. I haven’t heard or seen it before so I looked it up and it happened to be a new range in town. Me and my girlfriend checked it out for the first time a couple of days ago, and we were very impressed.
I liked how the storefront is mostly glass, so you can clearly see the inside of the store from outside. The inside is very well lit, clean, very spacious, and has several tables with stools for waiting. They also have a nice selection of firearms for sale, some accessories, and some parts for AR builds. From the inside of the store, there are a few TVs showing different shows, and one showing live video feed of each of the 14 lanes in the range.
Justin, the owner, was VERY courteous, friendly, and welcoming. It was a much different customer service from other gun stores or ranges I have been to. Some I’ve been to had good customer service, but here, they were exceptional.
The gun range is state of the art stuff, the most high-​tech range I’ve been to! The ventilation is the best I’ve experienced, constant fresh and clean air circulating in the range. The lanes are operated by a touch screen panel, where you can input the number of yards you want the target to be. The shooter can also program the target for shooting drills, where you can make the target go forward, backward, twist left or right to hide the target, then face front again to show the target, and so on. There are also a couple of range officers on duty at all times, so you can easily ask a question if you need to.
The range prices are $ 12 for the first shooter, $ 10 for the second and third shooter. I believe the gun rentals are $ 10 each. All very reasonable prices! Eyes and ears rentals are $ 2 each I believe, which is something new, but not necessarily bad. They do clean and sanitize them before and after each use, so that’s really good.
Overall, it’s the best range I’ve been to so far, great customer service, state of the art facility, and reasonable prices. We’ll definitely be back!

The Gun Range is one of the best indoor shooting ranges that I have ever been to.
The facility is VERY clean and well maintained… their prices are affordable… they have a good selection of firearms for rent and sale… and their staff is courteous, friendly, and professional.
One of the many features that I like about The Gun Range is that their shooting lanes are fully automated. They have large touch-​screen displays on each shooting lane that allows you to set exact target distances and make adjustments.
Because so many people enjoy this place, it would be helpful if they had a larger parking lot, but this is not a big deal because their existing parking lot is of a reasonable size. I just mention this because I am sure that this place gets busy.
I forget her name, but there was a very nice woman whom helped out my friend and I when we used the range. She is an awesome employee (if not the owner). Thank you for all your help.

This place is a very nice addition to San Diego indeed.
PROS:
1. They have their own parking lot on the side and back of the building.
2. Bright and very clean.
3. The employees here are very nice.

6. They sell guns, ammo and accessories (of course)
7. They have touchscreen monitors that allow you to adjust your target range.
8. Their target monitor lets you set it to make it a moving target.
9. They have see-​through glass dividers.
10. Their employees are constantly cleaning and picking up gun shells during your stay.
11. They have yearly membership for $ 500 which includes a free guest and access to gun rentals! Check it out!
CONS:
1. Their target range only goes up to 25 yards.
2. Their range room is ICE COLD. They have the AC on FULL BLAST. So DO wear multiple layers if you’re sensitive to the cold like myself.
3. Their range room does not have any chairs.
I love the location because it is conveniently in the center of San Diego and you don’t have to drive too far south or too far north. Plus, there’s plenty of restaurants in Kearny Mesa to grab some food before or after your session!
Overall, this place is the cleanest and friendliest place I’ve been too.
