The Finished Touch

I worked with Shari and Jodi for party invitations all the way from Montréal, Canada!
It was stress free and I got the most beautiful invitations anyone could ask for. I Would definitely recommend The Finished Touch, thank-​you ladies!

Shari is wonderful to work with. She has done several projects for me and I’ve been very pleased with the results. Would highly recommend The Finished Touch.

Shari was great to work with on our wedding invitations. She was efficient, prompt, detail-​oriented and super accomodating to all of the many changes me and my mom came up with for the wedding invitations. They turned out gorgeously and I was super excited to have them as the wedding invitations! They were able to turn ideas into reality and I’m so glad we went with them!

I hate to write a negative review, but I truly can not think of a positive thing to say about my experience with the finished touch. We had her do our wedding invitations; we gave her a sample of what we wanted (it was a save the date that we wanted our invites to look like) and when we got our first proof, it was absolutely nothing like the sample. We gave her notes and changes we wanted… Got the next proof, it was even more in the wrong direction and didn’t even include the font changes we wanted.
6 or 7 proofs later and she was just not getting the simple changes we wanted, so I made the entire invitation in InDesign and gave it to her, noting which fonts were where and what sizes they were. Even having that, she wasn’t able to get us what we wanted. It took weeks of back and forth, one of my family members doing the art on it, and me doing it for her.
When we finally got the finished product, we discovered she had charged us an additional art fee! We couldn’t believe it considering she didn’t do the art (it was emailed to her after someone else did it) and I had created the entire thing.
This was probably our most negative experience for our wedding. By the end, we were mad about ourselves for not just printing them ourselves considering the work i put in and the waste of money.

As one of those frustrating women who often can’t articulate what she wants, but will shoot down things she DOESN’T want in a heartbeat (c’mon ladies, you know who you are!), I was worried that wedding invitations were going to be an absolute nightmare for me. However, working with the Finished Touch ensured that that was NOT the case! The process went smoothly, I got what I came for, and the invitations were just gorgeous.
Shari allowed me to spend as much time as I wanted looking through books of samples and asking questions… highly appreciated, despite my fiancé not being SO thrilled as I to sit through these meetings :) Shari then helped me design exactly what I wanted by taking pieces from different samples and combining them into something I really loved and felt great about. Completely aware of the costs of a wedding and the fact that custom invitations are pricey, Shari kept our budget in mind and suggested ways to stay within the limit while still including what I wanted. She gave us tips without trying to push additional costs on us.
I’ll also add that all of this took place over a crazy time period during my first year of med school. Shari was very flexible and accommodating, communicating by email as I preferred and allowing my fiancé and me to come to her home office later in the evenings as our schedules allowed. She was completely on top of her work, emailing me like clockwork with updates, questions, and comments, so I didn’t have to chase after her at any point throughout this process. When my fiancé and I found a typo on the RSVP cards (our fault), Shari had them reprinted for us within a few days, and even split the reprint cost with us.

As far as pricing… I shopped around a bit before committing, and The Finished Touch was comparable to (if not less expensive than) other custom invitation vendors in the area… and as I said, Shari spent a lot of time working with us to make sure that everything fit our budget. And the invitations turned out just beautiful. We’re still getting compliments, months after they were sent out.
So here I am, hoping to spread the word! Wonderful customer service and a beautiful finished product!
