Specialties

Small Business Accounting and Bookkeeping Training:

Full-Charge Bookkeeping & Accounting; Accounts Receivable/Billing; Accounts Payable; Payroll; QuickBooks; Peachtree; Excel; and more.

History

Established in 2005.

The Academy was founded and its curriculum developed by a seasoned CPA experienced in both public and private accounting as an auditor, controller, consultant, and chief financial officer. He started the school due to his frustration in finding qualified people for entry-level staff positions. High schools and trade schools don’t teach these skills, and community colleges simply do not do a good job of training students at this basic level. Even students graduating from college with accounting degrees have never set up or worked with a real set of books, have no idea how to record and post disbursements, deposits and invoices, do billing, prepare journal entries, do payroll, work with QuickBooks or Peachtree, prepare financials, etc. That’s because university curriculum is oriented toward giant corporations with heavy emphasis on high-level financial theory. The Accounting Academy concentrates on small businesses offering hands-on, real-world accounting training.
